Better than TFA, but not saying much. Disney fucked up making these sequels. The whole Resistance storyline was boring.

That said - it was fairly obvious even in the spoiler free reviews that TFA was a safe film, there was nothing to indicate it was pushing any boundaries in the saga. With TLJ, nearly everyone is specifically mentioning the twists in the film - that's whats got me really excited personally. 

If there are any real twists I'll be surprised. I haven't seen any real spoilers but I'm pretty sure I already know the twist. We'll see in a couple days.

Yeah even I’m avoiding spoilers this go around. I may have accidentally gotten one spoiler that really pissed me off.

People were saying the same thing about TFA.

This is why they never released that Queen Anthology they’d been talking about since 2000. Teasing us with the crap they released with the 2011 remasters and then one-and-a-half discs worth of rare material for a whole album. They could have released so much more on the bonus discs in 2011.

I think I know how prequel haters feel now. The sequel trilogy could have been written so much better. And The Last Jedi is the second, so it has to follow what was already established with TFA. 

It’s all about money. Look at the Marvel movies. You’ve got two to four Marvel movies coming out each year. Granted they don’t all have the same people writing and directing. 

I mean I know the prequels didn’t live up to hype and weren’t the greatest movies, but I think they had a better story than what we have so far for the sequel trilogy. I’ve never been a big EU fan, but so far the Thrawn Trilogy is a better sequel trilogy. 

I think TFA was a total cluster. Mark Hamill said he’s upset Disney didn’t listen to anything George Lucas suggested in his outline.
