TFA was all mystery boxes that were purposefully designed so that the answers in the two sequels could be any numbers of things. Rian didn’t retcon shit.

Im sorry, but anyone who still believes in the “Rian derailed JJ’s story” narrative now in 2022, with the amount of hindsight that we have, is a fuckin idiot beyond saving. Even if JJ did have an idea of where he wanted things to go, he should’ve made those directions more clear from the start in TFA instead of turning everything into a mystery box.

JJ was too scared to answer all the tough questions right from the start; Where does our new protagonist come from? Who even is the new protagonist (Rey or Finn)? Why did Luke “blame himself and walk away from everything,” as Han says it? Why is everything repeating? These are things that the first installment should’ve been brave enough to answer right away. Even if you know you’re getting two sequels, the first installment should stand on its own, cause that’s how you make your foundation “solid.” JJ only has himself to blame for that.

That said, TLJ is not perfect either (most of the dialogue is shit, frankly).

I’ve actually gotten to the point where I’ve decided to never watch new Star Wars content ever again, cause it’s clear that I’ll never agree with the majority on anything anymore. So no Mando Season 3 for me, or anything else. I’m not even gonna go see the new movies (whenever those will be). Just not worth it anymore.

If TLJ derailed JJ’s story, maybe they should have just had him do the entire trilogy instead of choosing three different people (before firing Trevorrow and rehiring JJ).

I hated TLJ when it came out, but after TROS, I realized TLJ wasn’t that bad. 🤣

The snippet was posted in 2013-14 around the time Blood In The Water and Going Down leaked. There was a 2~ minute teaser with 10-15 second snippets of Absurd, OMG and the remixes. The full demo with Bumblefoot's guitar was leaked in 2018 I think.

I recently found that version of Oh My God on my hard drive. I love it, I hope it sees an official release some day.

    Even at Rio 2001!

Will this be one of the tracks with vocals post 2002, a la Better? I am holding out hope since it was only an instrumental piece in 2006-2007 (as far as we know), but the cellphone clip was more recent than that. Guess we will have more to talk about soon enough!

I've forgotten so much about Chinese Democracy over the years. Better and Shackler's Revenge are the only post-2002 vocal songs I can think of off the top of my head. Maybe Sorry and If the World?

  4. I took my son to see this while my wife went to see Haunted Mansion. I liked it, it wasn't the best TMNT movie, but it wasn't the worst. The lore was a little different than I'm used to with TMNT. I didn't know much about who was in the movie, so I spent the movie thinking the actor for Superfly was doing a really great Ice Cube impression.

not on a version of Riad that we've heard through leaks and of course not on the official version, but on a different version that we don't have access to.

Could be, could be. I should rephrase that the Red Special doesn't sound like it's on the versions of Riad that have leaked (or the official release). I just went and listened to all the Riad tracks we got from the locker and none of them sound like Brian.

It’s not, it never made the cut. Tommy voices his displeasure at this in an interview he did a couple of years back.

What brought me here to begin with is someone on reddit who is so adamant that Brian is on the leaks we have of Riad.

Sad to hear this. I watched a few episodes of ''Life With Louie'', one of my favourite cartoons growing up as a kid, this very week. Still really funny. I loved his performance in ''Baskets'' too, brilliant role and he deservedly won an Emmy for it. To me he always seemed like one of the friendliest and nicest people around.

I loved Life With Louie while growing up. There’s a channel on YouTube that shows full blocks of Saturday morning cartoons with commercials and all, Life With Louie is a consistent inclusion.

Just bought it on itunes and listening to it now... I already hate the drum sound

The bass sounds way better than anything on CD at least. It still seems like a cut and paste song though. There's some cool parts but it's still a ridiculous song to release as their first reunion single.

iTunes or Apple Music? I’m not seeing it in the iTunes Store yet.

I used to dislike the first Captain America but just the other day I watched it again for the first time since seeing it in the theaters a decade ago, and I actually like it a lot better now.

Well Iron Man 3 changed for me. Maybe I should give Captain America another go.
