  1. - Axl has never promised as an album for a specific date.

    - The Zakk Wylde quote has been taken out of context.

    - He randomly makes up his own stories, like "Axl alienated his current bandmates even more", wtf...

    - Too damn Anti-Axl article. It seems to be a great challenge to write a neutral story instead of just pointing the finger in one direction.

Well, if Axl would do some fucking interviews then the journos would be able to present his side of the story. As it is, they have to rely on whatever quotes they can get from other sources, who tend to have an anti-Axl bias. They may be anti-Axl, but journos naturally gravitate towards supporting people who are willing to give a little.

EDIT: It's a pretty fair account, tbh. The only real sticking point for me is that the author's got his facts wrong on Robin's involvement with the band, suggesting he quit in 1999 and never came back.

  2. Can someone plz tell me what the fuck you are talking about?

There was a new version of SCOM for the Big Daddy soundtrack. The first part of the song is "old GNR" playing live. The second part of the song is "new GNR" (circa 1999).

If you have the Big Daddy version throw it on and have a good listen.

Aaaanyway. You can download it from http://www.newgnr.com/dloads/audio/

And the switchover point comes with the ascending run of notes, when the wah pedal kicks in.

  3. Brian's amazing and all..(I saw the Queen/Paul Rodgers show in Toronto and it was GREAT!)...but I just can't envision Brain onstage with GnR rocking out to Welcome To The Jungle (YES,he could play it)...but it would all just have a weird vibe about it (in my opinion anyway)

    He's too... nice for GN'R.

  4. I seriously hope this is bullshit.

The timing is horrendous. Not to mention the fact that the band would be auditioning some twat that doesn't even deserve to be in the same sentence as 'Axl Rose' nor 'Guns N Roses.'

Also what would it say about Axl's confidence in the 2 guitarists he already has???...... Can they not play the material live without the need for back-up??

No they bloody can't, because the material has been written for three guitarists. A rhythm player, a melodic player and a shredder. Neither Fortus nor Finck is a shredder, ergo they need one.

  5. If this is true, it just boggles the mind.

People wonder why I use words like 'shambles' to describe NuGnR. Well, booking tour dates without a replacement third guitarist and then auditioning for this guitarist so close to the approaching dates is just staggering, imo.

Where does it say that he auditioned recently? For all we know, he could've auditioned months ago, been rejected and put out a press release now (after GN'R announce their new tour and US dates) to garner maximum publicity for himself.

  6. Cmon people ,u all know that there won't be REUNION any time soon. And lets face it, what Axl is going to do with those new bandmates who worked hard to bring CD to us if there is going to a reunion right now......THINK

Why in the name of Zeus's butthole does someone come along and start saying "There isn't going to be a reunion", when we're not. Bloody. Talking. About. A. Full. Reunion.

There is a vacant spot for a third guitarist in the current GN'R lineup. Slash is being very quiet about all the rumours flying round. It would make critical and commercial sense for Axl to have Slash rejoin GN'R; in the eyes of the general public, Axl and Slash together would constitute a 'reunion', 'cause they're the iconic members of the band. It'd shut up all those critics who slate Axl's new incarnation of GN'R because "it's not the same without Slash".

This is not a reunion we're talking about, though. Where in the phrase "why Slash rejoining G'n'R is a plausible possibility" does it say "oh, and Duff will replace Tommy and Matt will replace Brain and Izzy will replace Fortus"? We're talking about one person coming in to fill the vacant guitarist spot in the band, not the rest of Velvet Revolver jumping ship and displacing the current GN'R lineup...

  7. It's a long shot really. Think about it, Axl can't go for breakfast without being spotted what are the odds of all the origional line-up if they have re-united being able to rehearse secretly? Not to mention GNR management shooting down rumors of a reunion and VR management denying a band break-up. I think people are a bit too optimistic personally. Most of these sites will post anything that gets peoples attention, and GNR do get attention. Finally what about the new gnr, they are already rehersing so either Axl's lying to them or it's all a big rumor. I'll give you this it is odd that Axl isn't rehersing with hsi band at such a crutial time of the year.

    rock4

To be fair, though... Axl didn't go to the rehearsals for the 2001-2002 gigs, right? So it was just the band, right? Well... SLASH, MATT AND DUFF ARE REHARSING TOGETHER would elicit a big "so what?" from most people, given that they're already in a band together. So... <conspiracy hat on> could the "VR going into studio" reports actually be a cover for Slash, Matt and Duff to be rehearsing for the upcoming GN'R reunion?

    ...nah. Surely not.

  8. I used to think Axl was singing "You can take the biggest sofa, but it's more than I can stand" in YCBM. Why, thought my twelve-year-old self, is a hard-assed rocker like Axl Rose so concerned about soft furnishings?

    SG

  9. Billy Corgan playing leads in GNR would be interesting too. He is very Queen influenced. There are tons of Queen chords on Siamese Dream.

Much as I like the Pumpkins, I don't think Billy would really fit GN'R. Apart from anything else, can you imagine the monumental clash of egos?

    SG

  10. Oh, for... you honestly think that the news of the album release is going to be broken by some bored copywriter chucking some text in a box that's going to appear for 30 seconds in an ass-end of the airwaves TV music channel?

There'll be a press release. That's when we'll find out.

  11. It'd be a bit tricky, if not physically impossible to pull off; the outro solo for TWAT uses a wah pedal, which means that the player would need to be standing still with his foot on the pedal. So Slash wouldn't be able to walk out as he was playing the solo...

    ...

    ...

    ...I'm over-analysing this, aren't I? :)

    SG

  12. If slash were to rejoin (and thats the biggest if of all), then slash would do all the solos, and all the parts that he originally did.

Theres no way that slash would not play the solo's that he wrote. Just remember this:

Fortus, Stinson, Finck, Buckethead were / are only "hired" guns. They arent members. They are much a part of Guns N Roses as Starky is to Oasis (sorry if people are unfamiliar, I couldn't think of any other example).

If you would like to disagree with this, then simply ask axl. Im sure that axl would not acknowledge that his say within GNR is merely one voice in a band of 7. Of course axl runs the show.

If slash were to come in, this relationship would change

See, I wouldn't want to see Fortus and Finck relegated to doing nothing while Slash plays all the old solos. I don't think you could get away with having Finck play SCOM, but there's no reason why Fn'F shouldn't play, say, the first two November Rain solos, leaving Slash to do the big finale.

    SG

  13. It all sounds good..

One question...Do we know for sure that Slash went to Axls house??

    I missed out on that.

Axl said so in a lawsuit - I doubt he'd lie there, there would be too many reprecussions. I suspect that the shit's hit the fan at Camp VR regarding Slash's statements, and he's decided to walk away. Hopefully he'll be walking in the direction of Camp GN'R...
