For people talking about Paris 92, I'll make you a quick summary

    - Back in 2016, a set of 2 tapes from the Paris 92 set appears on ebay, claiming them to be promotional vhs and no tv rips , JimBeam from the chinesedemocracy tracker buys them

    - JimBeam sends the tapes to Limulus so he can transfer them with the best quality (I think JimBeam also did a transfer)

    - Limulus uploads It's so easy, Mama Kim, a piece of videi You Could Be Mine and You Could Be Mine in audio

    - Chinesedemocracy tracker is closed, so we don't stay in touch too much with the members who had the tapes

    - Tapes were bought in June 2016, so in December of 2016 I open a thread asking what happened with the tapes

    - After a lot of delays, Limulus uploads Don't Cry and the full thing is set to be released last tuesday.

    - Universal decides to put their nose into the project and threatens to sue the guys who where into it. They try to negotiate, but things don't go any better. I'm asked to delete the thread.

So, that's it, now I'm hoping everything goes fine for Saskatoon

@Snytefant apparently they did not play Nightrain, they played my michelle, and that one did not appear on the setlist

    Thanks.

That's why we need a private GNR tracker to talk about this kind of stuff. They wouldn't even know about the Paris tapes project if the tracker had still existed

This has nothing to do with the actual topic here although I can't wait to see that footage.

But if someone here (preferably in Europe as I live in Austria now so sending would not take too long) is able to digitize from VHS, Video8 and Hi8 I would have a few tapes that might be interesting for the fans here. I don't have a player anymore for neither of them so I can't take pics or videos of the TV but I'm not asking for money just for someone transferring the footage for free - a proper copy of the stuff would be nice though after it's done :D and obviously it should be shared somehow after for free (torrent, YT, whatever)

The footage I'm talking about would be:

Amsterdam - October 2nd, 1987 - VHS Unknown Gen, 20 minutes recorded by the venue with 1 cam, transferred badly to VHS but watchable.

Manchester - October 6th, 1987 - Master Video8, audience shot of the full gig.

Tokyo - December 10th, 1988 - Master Hi8, audience shot of the full gig.

Helsinki - August 13th, 1991 - VHS probably 1st Gen, about 30 minutes pro filmed with 1 cam. No idea who filmed it but I guess a TV station. Got the tape from a finnish workmate years ago.

Vienna - May 23rd, 1992 - VHS from the master tapes, about 90 minutes pro footage filmed by Austrian TV station ORF with 2 cameras as far as I remember. Not all from the gig though, there's a few interview clips with the band and fans plus maybe 5 minutes of the soundcheck, so around 60-70 minutes gig footage. Aside from a few interviews none of this eas shown on TV

Vienna - June 2nd, 1993 - VHS from the master tapes, full gig pro footage, multicam, also by ORF with 2 or 3 cams. None shown on TV

Lyon - July 9th 1993 - 2 Master Hi8 tapes (one shot from the side of the stage and one between fist row and stage) and 1 VHS badly cut together by both. Audience, full gig.

All of them are legit as I watched them all. I would have a few other which I can't confirm as I haven't watched them ever but I would send them too, maybe they are real. Also I have some Video8 and Hi8 tapes filmed by myself from US and UK gigs but they are far from pro but maybe you want to see them.

So if someone is able to digitize them properly I'm happy to give the tapes away.

@Lim666 Limulus is the man for this job

  3. Here's some other Marc quotes:

"It really wasn't a real song, just something they put together and it was quick and short and it wasn't anything special like the rest of the songs"
    http://www.mygnrforum.com/topic/190318-demos-and-recording-sessions/?do=findComment&comment=3304629

The song was very short 53 seconds and not even finished and may have been put together at the last minute. It was not really that good and that may be the reason the bootleggers didn't use it when they put out that stuff.

  4. I would also like to mention the Craig Duswalt reunion prediction in 2014

    http://abcnewsradioonline.com/music-news/2014/6/4/guns-n-roses-reunion-gonna-happen-in-the-next-two-years-says-1.html

Guns N' Roses Reunion "Gonna Happen in the Next Two Years," Says Axl's Ex-Manager

Duswalt says he and the rest of the old-school GN'R camp think Axl and Slash are closer than ever before to patching things up, mostly because original Guns bassist Duff McKagan has recently played onstage with Guns N' Roses, and Duswalt says they're hoping McKagan will be an ambassador of sorts. "Duff is paving the way to open the gates again," says Duswalt. "Axl and Duff are really getting along well at the concerts, so there's an opening."

Duswalt says when it comes to Axl and Slash, he knows "for a fact they hate each other right now. It's bad. Axl is a loyal guy and you get on his bad side and some people don't come back, but Slash and him were so close. We [in the old-school Guns camp] all have a feeling it will happen. It's gonna happen in the next two years...there's an opening because of Duff playing with Axl."

  6. New Jeff Angell interview

    http://crypticrock.com/interview-jeff-angell-talks-return-walking-papers/

    Duff/GNR related talk:

CrypticRock.com – (Laughs) Now, Walking Papers continued touring through 2014 and then everyone went on to other respective projects. In the time apart, did everyone keep the lines of communication open that Walking Papers would in fact be back?

Jeff Angell – Well, we made another record and we were ready to put it out, and Guns N’ Roses took over. I can’t blame Duff, but it kind of stood in the way of us putting out the record. We thought we would get back to it, but it just kept going. He was contractually obligated to do that. Since I was there knowing that was going on, I did a Staticland record, I toured that twice in the United States and twice in Europe. I was then contractually binded to that, so we had to wait for that contract to be up. Now we can finally release the record. The record was actually hot on the heels of those two tours, but kind of a secret stuck there for two years of us not being able to do anything with it.

    About touring this year:

CrypticRock.com –  With new music set for release January 19th, can we expect to see Walking Papers hit the road again soon?

Jeff Angell – Yea, we are doing the record release show here in Seattle on January 27th at The Crocodile. Then we are going to do some other shows. I can see emails and offers coming in. We are going to be doing something. I think we are going to do something where no one’s really going to know what they are going to get, every time we are going to be doing something a little bit different. That is how we are going to be arranging the shows, who’s playing, and how we are going about it.

  7. He started doing it in 1992. He kinda did it in Oklahoma '92, but it was a regular thing since the first European show in 1992 (may 16, Dublin) until the last Buenos Aires show in 1993.

Just check any performance of the song between may 1992 and july 1993 and you'll hear it.

I noticed it when I started collecting bootlegs a long time ago and I had to know this information lol

  8. 15 hours ago, Gibbo said:

I was talking to him and he said he will be mixing another angle and will post it in a week or so.

He said BEST SHOW OF MY LIFE!!!

Hey Gibbo, any chance you could get Markit Aneight's master video files just like Philladelphia, East Rutherford and Landover 2016? His videos are the best!

  9. There's an audio recording of that show. Axl said Slash offered $100 to everyone on the room if they let him open the show with Nightrain. Then Axl said he would give his 100 back if Slash's girlfriend cuts her hair, or something like that.

They also talk about it at the next show in Toronto, Axl said he heard at least 10 strong Nightrain requests and that Slash would be very happy because that wouldn't cost him any money.
