    That was indeed gross.

I'm glad the HOF went the way it did. It led to this version of reality. Also, I don't think that Axl would have been happy with a HOF induced rapprochement that everyone was hoping/angling for at the time. Once that monkey was off his back, he probably could have settled down to find the mental peace/space to allow himself to make peace on his own terms. Which he did.

There was no need to slight Dizzy like that.  I'd knock those 3 little shits' teeth out the next time I saw them if I was Dizzy.

  2. With only 2 guitar players, he'll probably stick more to the original studio versions.

I would hope so.. I hated the way NuGnR played the songs.... Never understood why Slash's bands could play them spot on but NuGnR had to make them all sound like cheap covers.

That's just not true. Other than Slash's guitar, Slash's bands were a cheap cover.

except for the Slash's Snakepit 2000-2001 band.

Slash's Snakepit was my favorite Slash project. Wish that stuck post guns

Bullshit... Take Myles out of it and the songs were 10 times closer to the original spirit of the songs that NuGnR... Wasn't even close...

Nope, no way. Saw them both multiple times and that was not the case.

  3. Well fuck me...

Fortus was finally right about the next year. But there's a chance he won't be part of it.

I'd rather have 4tus than Clururke though...

    *cough cough*

Anyone that's been in GnR over Gilby. Anyone!

Gilby's 'Pawnshop Guitars' is one of the best rock albums of the 90s. Its a shame that his talent is not recognized by some.

Maybe...but that doesn't make me want to see him back in Guns!

  4. Its even funnier that people consider this a reunion. Slash is joining NUGNR and taking DJ Ashba's place. Duff has already played with NUGNR about 15 times. Axl probably still owns the name and has FULL control.

A reunion is all 5 guys on the appetite cross getting equal ownership of the GNR name and nothing else in my opinion.

That didn't work before and it definitely wouldn't work now. Appreciate what you have.

  5. I keep reading posts about lots of speculation about why DJ and BF left the band when they did in multiple threads for the last few months. It baffles my mind how so many people don't see the connection between the reunion and their departures.

My theory is, Slash and Axl have been friendly for some time now. Maybe going back as far as 2014. No question their relationship was cordial by summer 2015. Surly the guys in 'nuGNR' were privy to this and saw the writing on the wall (that a reunion was inevitable at that point). I believe DJ bowed out gracefully, making the decision for Axl to work with Slash again in GNR all the more easier. I also believe that Bumble was so cryptic about everything because, although he suspected a potential reunion, he wanted to leave the door open in the event it didn't actually happen or GNR decided to retain 3 guitarists (Fortus, Slash, Bumble... for example). I can't blame the guy, either. GNR was a good paycheck for them and with Slash on board, an even bigger payday would be in play for them.

What do you think? Did DJ and Bumble leave on their own accord not knowing about a reunion (IE- tired of GNR inactivity and lack of releasing new material)? Or do you believe they saw a reunion coming and stepped aside?

If it's the latter... I commend DJ for bowing out like he did, stepping aside so something bigger than him could take place. And find it a little crappy on Bumble's part... leaving everyone guessing and milking the GNR name. Last time I checked, DJ wasn't playing gig's full of GNR songs that he didn't write. BF really has left a bad taste in my mouth.

It was a good bit of both.

  6. with a three month Fernando announcement (presumably based on a three hour meeting) to look forward to?

I seriously do not understand how someone in a professional position could just flat out lie like that. Obviously, there was nothing coming in 3 months. Things didn't get pushed back. Nothing was ever coming. And the fact that its coming from the essentially official manager of a real band like Guns N Roses is insane. We make fun of it, but at the end of the day this is a legitimate thing thats happening to a legitimate band. That is how low they have fallen. That they can essentially tell us anything, and we'll keep accepting it. Or that we all know its fake and we still just let it happen. Thats incredible to me that an actual band as famous as GNR does this.

If I were Slash, its why I'd run as far as humanely possible away from this. It is an utter train wreck.

    That's the problem...

I don't think there was an intention to lie to the fans when he said he'd have news for us in 4 months (or 2, or 3, or whatever)... There probably is something on the works, but we should all know by now that as much as Fernando might be aware of it, it's not his call to make, and we know how with GNR, deadlines are just a suggestion and extremely flexible  . I honestly don't think he posted that just to say something to the fans that would keep them quiet and stop talking shit for a bit.

And that's the problem with the GNR camp (and it's nothing new, it has ALWAYS been like this), the level of uncertainty within the camp fucks with everyone.

So now everyone is calling Fernando a liar... when it's very likely that all that happened is that things didn't go as initially expected, so there is NOTHING to announce at the moment, either because whatever they were working on has been delayed or just discarded for good.

What can he do now? Show up here, and give explanations... would that make things any better for anyone? Maybe, but it would only (once again) make things clear:

Any announcements, any future plans, any projects, anything related to new music, tours, reunion, etc don't mean shit in the GNR world, because things can change in the last minute. Maybe that's what he should do: log in, say that they were/are working on "something" (we won't know what) and that it's been delayed because of bureaucracy or because it just wasn't going in the right direction, or for whatever reason... just a general light explanation would be nice. I wouldn't expect any details. Hopefully things have just been delayed because whatever they're doing takes more time and effort to plan and do than initially expected.

What are the possible scenarios with the GNR/fanbase relationship??

    - No announcements at all... this bothers everyone and pisses off the fans cause they don't know what's going on and what to expect

    - Half-assed announcements (we're working on something, hopefully we'll have news for you """soon""")... keeps fans busy wondering and coming to the craziest conclusions for a while, but we should know by now that it doesn't guarantee anything.

    - Hard announcements... we will tour next year, we're in the studio recording/mixing/mastering, we're releasing a new album in the spring... everyone gets excited until things start getting delayed, or they just don't happen (with or without a proper explanation), which pisses off fans. As with the previous point, these announcements, as exciting as they might be, don't guarantee that anything will happen.

It's a dysfunctional band with an equally dysfunctional management and an even worse relationship with their fanbase, but does this really surprise anyone? Come on, guys, it's always been like this, the only difference is that now the time frames are WAY LONGER.

    True.

Yet.....somehow every other band in the world is able to handle their business. That is what is so frustrating. People don't and Axl and TB to suddenly become more fan friendly. We just want them to be semi-competent.

    If really is so easy.

    Rumors are false.

    Or

All the camps are talking and seeing if there is a possibility to work together again. It's complicated as not only are we dealing with our history together, but all the players currently have bands and other projects in motion. So we are all doing our best to see if there is any way possible to give the fans what they want and put some version of the old band back together for a bit. Thanks for your patience.

That's all they would have to do.

And everyone would complain about how they preferred to be surprised

  7. Out of all these links the Bristol post is the only one that's legit, off the record. So... I guess the waits over then according to this. 8 Am Friday we should be getting a reunion announcement.

Looks like Santa finally came and put our presents under the Christmas tree. Wonder if we'll get to Christmas morning with no one peaking...

The article has been pulled (which even raises my eyebrow, and I'm as cynical about this as anyone) - what did it say? Did it actually have new info, or just more of the same speculating?
Really? Maybe for you, gotta be something in your settings. I pulled up the link no problem. It's from the Bristol Post, which seems to be a legit source, which is a nice change of pace in comparison to sources like dish nation which aren't reliable..

All it says is the same as the link posted above.. LEEDS and READING festival lineups will be announced Friday and GNR is expected to headline. So we are expected to get the announcement Friday.

The first names are due to be announced on Friday, that does not mean GNR would be revealed as one of the names.

Very true, but if it is in fact the original lineup headlining Friday would be as good of a time as ever to announce it.

Yup, announce it sooner than later so if it all falls apart you already sold the tickets.
