  1. Fortus is renting out his NYC apartment. That means someone might rent it.

This really is utterly annoying. Whatever happened to Fernando being back in 2-4 months with news? Instead we get cryptic "woe is me" tweets, once again painting GNR as some kind of victim in whatever they're unhappy about this week.

The lack of follow through with the fans shows a complete bankruptcy of integrity, accountability and really any semblance of tact. Great job, as usual, Fermanager.

He has about a month to make good on that announcement. I've got my pitchforks ready though, I think it's going to be tough for them to come through with a quality announcement considering everyone's mindset is that whatever comes next is going to be huge for GNR in terms of that reunion, so really it's new album, reunion or bust. I think that's how it should be though. As a fan base we have waited for new material year after year and never been given a good answer as to why a completed album cannot be in hands of the fans.

So the fact that TB's put themselves in this situation allows me to quit making excuses on their behalf. They need to step up and have something good to say soon, it's been a difficult 7 years following the release of CD. I don't see how they've done anything to advance GNR or bring excitement to the fan base. And I'm talking strictly on their marketing, releases, website, communication on social media and communication with fans in general. I think they've disappointed as a management team of one of the biggest rock bands ever.

They will say I'm whining and maybe some of you will too. It's my opinion and I know many others share it.

I hope they come through though!

Tell us what you'll do with those pitchforks!

  2. I didn't see Steven from 1991 to 1995 and then only saw him once at Canter's and he looked real bad. Then I saw in again in 2006 and he looked better but was still on drugs. since 2007 I have been in good contact with him. I dont really know how he felt knowing his band toured all those big places from 91 to 93. Knowing Steven well, I would think it must have killed him to see that and at the sometime push him deeper into the dark world of drugs to hide the pain. Steven is a great guy inside and would give anyone the shirt right off his back. Nomatter what there is a place in heaven waiting for him when his time comes.

  3. Not from GnR directly, but yeah

"Not saying nothing to it" "Just saying no real news" Ed asslicking Trunk.:max: This guy is such a piece of shit. He trys to cover his ass by saying it's just rumor and speculation to save face for the GnR camp and/or if it doesn't happen, yet keeps up the "not saying nothing to it" so he can say he knew all along in case it does somehow happen. Fuck Eddy and his two dungeon and dragon ass pals.

  4. So you don't understand that one of the old motorhead guys is dead and the other can't cut it these days. The guys that have been with the band longer can still put on a great show and still write great albums. No denying the old ones, but magic in a bottle doesn't necessarily have shelf life...

Moot point since no GN'R member has died (except Ole Beich). Besides, GN'R were not created like a band like Motörhead by which one member (Lemmy) dictates; this is why Axl's takeover is seen as such a gross insult by many. Fundamentally you are correct however, about not being able to recreate the magic, but seeing as we are discussing that hypothetical scenario we may as well pursue the argument. Besides, there is no magic in nugnr!

Adler is a douche for being a whiny fuck up that couldn't cut it and got fired from the band in the first place. Sorum, I don't really care. Adler can't be trusted and I'd pass over Sorum because that's what I'd do. Gilby lol.

Adler got fired from a band of hard core drug addicts for - lo and behold - being a drug addict! If you look up 'hypocrisy' in a dictionary, you will see something about the Adler dismissal. Adler then successfully, i.e. his dismissal was scrutinised by the judicial system, sued Guns N' Roses for millions. There is another side of the story.

As someone who prefers Adler and Appetite and does not generally like Sorum's brand of percussion, I still find it strange how one would prefer ''random person x'' over the guy who actually recorded songs which would theoretically be played on a reunion tour, e.g. November Rain, Estranged, You Could Be Mine, etc. There is more than hint of preferring an Elvis impersonator over Presley himself here.

Are you expecting to be taken seriously?

If you drink five pints and squint your eyes Fortus almost - almost - resembles Izzy!

Axl and Izzy started GnR and Axl was there throughout. Although other members had very strong input, especially on the most significant songs, Axl's the only one to be there the entire time. Not exactly the same as Lemmy's band though I definitely see. Plus, Lemmy's work ethic/production/lack of label or management battles cemented his current latest line up.

Seeing the last lineup of GnR live I know they had a lot more magic performance wise than most acts out there in the past decade or more.

That's what was sad about Adler, he got fired by other junkies. He was that bad he couldn't play.

Hypothetically I'd absolutely love and original line up reunion. But it'd never last for more than a show or two if that. Plus, being a fan of every lineup, I did find a member or two I like better than from the early 90s and 80s in Fortus. To each they're own.

  5. Please no Sorum or Clarke.

Fortus and Frank over them any and every day if Izzy doesn't want to do it. And well, Adler would need duck tape over his mouth to stop douche from coming out and drug free handlers holding his hand

Why on earth someone would want two hacks playing a so called 'reunion' instead of genuine old band members, one of which recorded the Illusion double album, i.e. around half of the old band's recordings, is beyond me. But this forum is beyond me. Reunion apparently means Richard Fortus! Bizarre lot, gnr fans.

Because some people just didn't like Sorum and Clarke. Simple as that. They're not originals anyway. Too bad Adler's a douche these days. I'd rather the best band out of all of the lineups.

Speaking of newer members vs older members, just look at Motorhead. Want the old guys up there?

Yes, yes, and yes. The Fast Eddie Clark/Filthy Animal Taylor line-up was infinitely superior to any other Motorhead line-up, producing such masterpieces as Overkill, Ace of Spades and Bomber!

Let me get this straight, you think that Adler, the drummer who drummed on gn'r's one seminal contribution to the music industry, is a 'douche', hate Sorum, who contributed thirty songs and played 194 gigs during their peak period, and hate Gilby who recorded a covers record and played 138 gigs?

I think you better stick to your hacks n' overdubs band.

So you don't understand that one of the old motorhead guys is dead and the other can't cut it these days. The guys that have been with the band longer can still put on a great show and still write great albums. No denying the old ones, but magic in a bottle doesn't necessarily have shelf life...

  7. If Ashba is good at anything, I think he knows how to fit song styles for bands. Saints of Los Angeles was the most vintage Motley Crue in a long time.

Apart from Tommy Lee's great drumming, the album sounded congested and processed as fuck. Autotuned vocals and horrendous digital guitar tones. Although there are some good tracks on it, I never understood why so many thought it sounded like classic Crüe. New Tattoo was more like it and Tommy wasn't even on it!

I was talking about the song Saints of Los Angeles itself. Not so much the recording; didn't hear much else off of the album.

  8. So according to Bach, DJ wrote a song with a badass riff for GnR. Goddamn I would have loved to hear an album from the last line up...

n whether he has any songs in the works for his next solo album:

"Well, I don't know if I do. There's two songs that I've heard that I want to sing. One was written by [former GUNS N' ROSES and current SIXX: A.M. guitarist] DJ Ashba. He played it for me back in 2010 when we were on tour with GUNS N' ROSES. He goes, 'Listen to this.' And I'll never forget it. He put it on my head. He wrote it for Axl [Rose, GUNS N' ROSES lead singer], to be [used by] GUNS. It's the most badass fucking riff — one of the coolest songs I've ever heard. I haven't heard it since then, but I never forgot how much I loved it. And he's not in GUNS N' ROSES anymore, so there's one song that I do wanna sing. But I don't even know if I can have that. DJ, I've gotta call you. But that's one song. And then, my guitar player, Devin Bronson, [who played] on 'Give 'Em Hell', sent me one riff that I could definitely sing over. But that's where it stands. There's… You know… I'm just… It seems like so much work. [Laughs] You don't understand how much fucking torture it is. But, anyway, it's great."

  9. I remember 1 year ago the rumour that Axl Rose had said to the rest of the band that they were no longer under contract and he was thinking about retire.....

Now its confirmed from Stintson and maybe other that after the last show at Las vegas they finished their jobs.

So,it could very true that after the reunion gigs (if there are any) Guns N Roses will be end.

The thing that axl did from 2011-2014 was a total disaster....and i remember many people saying he was sounding good.Bollocks, even Fernando confirmed that Axl knew he was singing like mickey mouse

Total disaster haha... Lots of bands wish they could be a quarter as successful as that "total disaster"

Total disaster about his singing. Not about his "success"

He had some bad shows for sure. But lots of good ones. All that I've seen live he sounded great.

  11.

Finally saw Slash's band this weekend. He was awesome as expected on the Guitar. The rest of the band was solid, but if I'm comparing his show vs Axl's, latest GnR lineup was much better overall.

Axl's backing band has a better light show, I'll give them that.

Yeah and they're just a better backing band in playing and stage presence. I didn't expect that.
