  1. Acting?

    Absolutely not. He'd be terrible.

I am a huge Axl fan...I think the term 'round these parts is "nut-swinger..." but. as an actor, I have to think he'd be terrible.

He'd never show up to the shoot on time.

    ...and he's way to honest.

The guy just doesn't seem to put on false pretenses. That's kind of a prerequisite for being an actor.

  2. Managed to go downstairs and grab my headphones.

Horrible. However, it's no different than the 2014 performances so far, at least it's not getting worse.

Horrible? Honestly, I don't understand it. I guess it's "different strokes for different folks," right?

The band sounded fucking great last night.

    Axl sounded amazing.

DJ's solo was fucking awesome. I get it that a lot of folks here just wanna bag on DJ for whatever reason. I personally think he kicked ass last night.

Great show. Great night. I sense a lot of sour grapes 'round these parts. ;)

  3. Gettin' ready to head out to Bethlehem and I saw this thread.

May 12th, 2006 was almost a surreal day.

Like folks have mentioned already, it wasn't just the concert that kicked ass.

The vibe that day was off the charts.

    Mustang Harry's was a blast.

The line outside Hammerstein was insane. I still remember bounding up the stairs to Mezz 2 psyched as hell.

    NOBODY knew what to expect.

When Axl appeared on stage having ditched the jerseys look, the place went bananas.

    Just insane!

    Now, can't wait for Bethlehem!!!!!!!!!!

  4. It's my favorite song on CD.

Lyrics can be seen from multiple perspectives.

For me, when I hear this beautiful song, I get teary-eyed. For me personally, it tells a story of loss.

For most, that loss is a sad break-up, but at this stage of my life, I see it as the unimaginable pain of losing a loved one to a terminal illness.

Perhaps "she wouldn't say goodbye" because by doing so, it would confirm the inevitable agonizing heartbreak of the situation.

  5. For me prostitute could have benefitted without that drum loop just start off with the piano rendition, leading up to perhaps a busier mix. But as it is, it is too dense. I do like when the drums kick in at 00:58 (album version). This is really one of those tracks where Axl over thought the song and made it a lot more complicated than it should have been.

Well, I guess everyone has a different opinion on what makes a perfect Prostitute.

    :P

btw, I am jealous of the folks that can make out anything at 0:03...I can't make out more than one muffled syllable......or was it "muffed?" Hmmm.

  6. I got the new ET magazine this week and of course there was a little Axl mention. There's also a picture of Axl wearing his red bandana with his Jesus Christ shirt and shorts with his red flannel shirt around his waste and a little stubble on his chin.

"Fergie names her baby Axl. Like his namesake, he probably will scream a lot, love boobs, and take forever to put out an album".

I doubt that Fergie named her baby boy after Axl, but I think it's cool that whoever does The Bullseye in ET thought to mention Axl Rose.

...actually, from what I have read in multiple entertainment sources, yes, the name was inspired by one Axl Rose.

  7. I still can't grasp this idea that declining an invitation to what amounts to an industry awards ceremony, that has ZERO to do with fans, is somehow a slight to all GNR fans and complete disrespect to anyone that's ever even heard a Guns song on the radio. If the HOF had fan ballots, and the fans had voted them in, yes, I could see a little bit of dissent with the decision but that's not the case. To answer, Axl in a round about way, caters to no one in particular. He really kinda does what he does and if you enjoy it, great. But if not, sorry. This whole scenario kinda proves your point. In turning it down, he then proves he DOESN'T cater to anyone...

    ^ This. Exactly correct.

  8. "He (Axl) will regret this when he is in a home someday and the tattooed geezer next to him in diapers tells him he was an asshole."

-yeah, Axl's eyes will tear up when he's called an asshole for the first time in his life... :rofl-lol:

Let's see, this guy's company makes cheap, third-rate pizza...and Axl makes some of the greatest music ever...

I think I'm siding with Axl on this one.

  9. This just fucking sucks.... ugh. So much shit flown at Axl. He did it to himself, but still...

Couldn't show up to one fucking event in 20 years because hes afraid of being in the same room with Slash...

    DAMMIT

So, you have determined Axl's no-show is the result of him "afraid of being in the same room with Slash?"

I would love to know how you gathered up that nugget.

  10. Yes, must be delusional...and if Axl was to sport a "Slash and Burn" t-shirt, it would be a coincidence too...right, gotcha.

Golden God awards, limited to Metal and Hard Rock. Slash wore the shirt to support the event, slamming what's "popular".

    pop that bubble.

Yeah, I guess you're right...no other t-shirt out there could have captured that sentiment.
