  1. This I how I think it should go...

    Official Inductees (IMHO):

    Axl Rose

    Slash

    Izzy Stradlin'

    Duff McKagan

    Steven Adler

    Matt Sorum

    Dizzy Reed

Let 'em play an AFD track or two with Stevie on drums, a UYI track with Matt on drums, let DJ join 'em on stage (but NOT as an inductee) to play "This I Love" (Old Guns could easily handle it and it has some historical linkage back to Old Guns) so the new band gets some exposure out of it and end it with a massive rousing rendition of "Paradise City" with all inductees + DJ (give whichever of Steven or Matt isn't playing a tambourine or some bongos or something- haha)...

Anyway- hardly perfect to say the leadt- but that's the fairest and most mutually beneficial way to handle it that I can think of...

would be sweet except dj cant play robin's TIL solo

You might wanna clean that earwax out...you can't be serious.

He nails TIL...it was one of my highlights at the Camden show.

Here's how the HOF thing should, and probably will, go:

Old and new band members will be on stage to accept the award.

The new band will perform...old members whose names are not Slash will be welcomed to perform. Axl will be further demonized...and I don't think he'll give a shit. I know I wouldn't. :)

  2. Guns N' Roses

Pardon the lack of brevity here as there are a few noteworthy items -

First, as reported via local press in Memphis and directly to fans where

possible, the Southaven show on Monday, December 5th has been canceled. Refunds are available at all points of authorized purchase.

As for all the self-indulgent so-called "likes" of GN'R who find it convenient and seemingly their life's purpose and public outcry for glorification to rag on this page and all over the internet about THE VERY PEOPLE that deliver GUNS N' ROSES, especially the plant-heads ( IQ maybe that of the fern in the room) who took aim on the last facebook post - this photo from US Bank Arena should undoubtedly give you a better bad obsession. BTW the NATI folks and show ROCKED on all counts! AND FOR THE RECORD cause "shirley" some self serving propagandists will find a twisted meaning or scrabble the words way of interpreting this post - we deeply appreciate everyone that supports GUNS N' ROSES.

Finally and foremost - NASHVILLE - we look forward to rockin' the roof off your Bridgestone Arena with Zakk Wylde and Black Label Society a bit later today!

Axl is suck a dick. It's like he tries to use big words and degrades every human he comes across that

thinks differently from himself. He's a hellava' singer but a really poor human being. JUST IMO though.

Wow, you're in a great place...a GNR fan forum.

I can't think of a better place for you to be.

    Have a great day!

  3. zepspun, you made some good points...but what I think you're missing is the statement that the "music industry insiders" are letting their spite destroy their ability to view the new band objectively.

That's the issue I have with new lineup haters. At least stay objective. Who gives a fuck what their name is? Judge them on their product.

I think just about every person on this board has heard and or seen every GNR lineup there ever was...the haters are missing out on one fucking unbelievably talented band. All the credit in the world to the musicians who helped craft AFD and the UYIs. But, I hate to break it to them, they just didn't perform as well as the current incarnation. They just didn't. Sure, drugs probably played a big part of that, but it was what it was.

btw, there aren't enough characters allowed on these pages to explain fully why GNR is "different." ;)

  4. Its been over a week since a post in this topic and the show is tomorrow?! WAKE UP IT'S TIME TO PLAY! When is everyone planning on showing up?

hopefully around 6:30...will the lot even be open at that point?

  5. Well Dizzy did come off quite a bit less douche'y in this. He didn't act all badass like he was the last one standing from the height of GNR's fame for once. He sounded humble and grateful to be there as he should.

Tommy loves his booze and is looking a lot like Scott Weiland these days. He also seems like he has a short fuse and is barely containing a simmering anger.

DJ......sigh........is terrible for this band. He said Axl had been following him for 10 years before he auditioned?? DJ was the best you could do?? Anyway he said Axl wants him to rework some of the stuff from the chinese sessions which means he will record over Robin's stuff. This is very sad.

I can't disagree more regarding DJ. He's an amazing addition. His solos are fantastic. His live playing is excellent. Stage presence, excellent.

    Tommy fuckin rocks, period.

  6. I don't buy that Axl didn't have the support of the record company. They poured millions of dollars into CD for years and years without any return.

Well, there ya have it. GnR Chris doesn't buy it. That Axl must be tryin' to pull the wool over our eyes, eh?

  7. 2002 was the worst line up in GNR history, they sounded TERRIBLE, absolutely horrific in places

    Best individuals=worst band

Sounds like the 2011 Philadelphia Eagles. :)

  8. So here's the shows I am going to, are their openers yet?

    East Rutherford: ?????

    Wilkes Barre: Sebastian Bach

    Camden: ?????

    I'll be at Camden too.

From what Loaded's site says, they'll be in Munich on the night of Nov. 26th.

Damn...I was looking forward to Bach in Camden.

  9. Don't get why there is so little love for OTGM live. It is one of the most awesome live songs. Are there any clips of it from recently?

Agreed. I was never crazy about the studio version...but performed live, it rocks. I love the paranoid/angry vibe it gives me at the shows. Very cool.

  10. I just have to voice the obvious yet not said opinion here;

3 hour rock shows just don't work.

Even though you might make yourself believe they do. the fact of the matter is that it really doesn't matter if you are pub band out on your first 10 shows or you are GNR, everything after the first 35 minutes, which in and of themselves should be great through and through, begs for an actual justification.

It requires a truely masterful showmanship and great songs to carry a show to an old albums length of 45 minutes. Very rarely have I seen shows that have been really good through and through that have lasted longer than that. 60 minutes is an absolute maximum from one troupe for me, usually. Maybe with my utmost favorites I can stomach a 90 minute thing, but that is really stretching it.

3 hours. it just screams "no!!!!" to me.

Hmm. 90 minutes is the longest rock concert you want to attend?

Now it's my turn to voice the obvious...are you serious?

I want both quality AND quantity...I believe the overwhelming majority of GNR fans agree. ;)

  11. Nightrain Rock Am Ring '06. hands-down my favorite Nightrain ever.

Madagascar, Budapest '06? (he changes the ending just a tad, brings the note up much higher, just beautiful), and of course - Boston '02.

This I Love, Prague '10, San Sebastian 10/10/10

Whole Lotta Rosie, that intro. clip GNR Poalnd uses where Axl nails the intro scream and takes it higher...sweet.

Sailing, the non-acoustic version. Fucking unbelievable vocals from Axl.

Better, Download...he's pissed, doesn't move, but sounds fucking great.

Nice Boys, London with Duff...Axl sounds AMAZING!

Those are just a few of the many special performances GNR has delivered in my opinion.
