  1. ^ Plus, this rumored release date (Nov. 25th) is really going out on a limb, eh? The Tuesday of Thanksgiving week with Black Friday, the biggest retail day of the year just 3 days later. Stunning news.

That said, I'm no insider, but hello! of course that's the best possible day for CD's release. Get a kick-ass commercial ad promo like the one Bono had a few years back and this thing will be a fucking monster, guaranteed.

  2. okay, i know i dont post often, so i will be considered a Newbie. Whatever. i know deep down that i know more about this band then alot of people here that have a thousand posts ( all being the same regergated shit )

i was lucky enough to see the band 6 times b4 AFD even came out.

i for one, dont want to see this reunion like most, because i think the music that will eventually come out from Axl and the new GnR will be amazing.

its a different time yes, but in ways , with the right promotion, CD could do for rock n roll what AFD did when it came out.

i would like to see a reunion at some point, but am way more interested in what the "new GnR" have in store for us.

Do i think the leaks we have heard are the "end all be all" ? No, not at all. I am a fan of Velvet Revolver, a big fan. with that being said , the leaks ive heard, and i may have heard a few more then most, are better then anything VR have put out IMHO.

As far as the album being turned in and why we are still waiting. go back and read Axl's open letter. He mentions the behind the scenes, the contracts, blah blah blah. with as many people who have been invlolved in the project, that could take well over a year getting that all sorted out.

    and lastly,

Axl does not owe us anything. we are fans, period. we paid for his past records and got somthing in return. the music on said records.

that does not make us intitled to anything more then what we have already paid for.

he is like most artists making his art for himself and no one else, should we choose to indulge in his art, yes, thats a plus for him, but not the reason for him making it.

we are not owed anything, not a update, not a reunion, not even a fucking album called Chinese Democracy.

    get over it.

if you want to be apart of it cool, if not.................well.

    my 2cents

Excellent post! Personally, I don't want a reunion, and I'm not crazy about VR...but you make some great points. :)

  3. The Variety review by Steven Mirkin was complete bullshit. The second I read the line about Axl's face not sweating, well, what a fucking joke. I've seen bootleg after bootleg, and Axl sweats as much as any guy running and screaming near pyrotechnics and bright lights.

Steven Mirkin...are you looking for a little mention in Get in the Ring 2007? Fuck you Mr. Mirkin. I can tell you right now you don't know dick. :fuckyou:

  4. Speaks the truth??? "even setting a Nov. 21 release date," yeah, that sounds right to you? I'm so sick of the fucking liars who are allowed to get away with this shit. A Nov. 21 release date was never set.

Dammit, sometimes I wish Axl would lash out at these fucking liars...or maybe they're just looking to make a name by pissing off Axl, I don't know.

    Simply the truth...I think not.

  5. "I bet you said that in 2002."

I bet the pic under your screen name was cool in 1992. :o

Also, since 2002, have you noticed some really amazing new tracks leaked and played live? I sure the fuck have. Had I heard more songs like Silkworms or OMG, I could guarantee I wouldn't be here. BUT, I've heard, There Was a Time (now one of my all-time favs.), Better (another all-timer), IRS, and Catcher in the Rye. Throw into the mix, Madagascar, The Blues, Riyadh, and Chinese Democracy (which is cooler live in '06 than '02 by the way) and you've got one of the best albums I've ever heard.

Like I said, it's all about the quality of the product. Axl is an artist and he isn't going to let impatient a-holes dictate when his work is finished. In the most polite voice I have, "suck on that." :)

  6. ...easy answer. Why do I come here? Because the new shit kicks ass. 'nuff said. The new music of GNR blows away the crap I hear every day on the radio. Yeah, Silkworms was a stinker in my eyes and there was a below average Oh My God, but all the rest kick tremendous ass. We haven't even heard the studio versions of these songs, but if the live and leaked versions are this good, they're sure to be killer in the studio.

if people are fed up with the wait, just leave. We've been waiting years and years and years, and the album's on its way very soon. If you want to bail, don't let the door hit ya in the ass. The negative a-holes will bash and bash, never go to a concert or buy an album, so why should supporters of this band give 'em the time of day? If your version of GNR is the old band, great, they were great. Live in the past.

    Guns N' Roses 2006.

  7. Oh give me a break. More excuses. Buckethead quit the band in 2004, if having his parts on the record was such a big deal then they've had the last two years to re-record his parts, and they didn't have any lead guitarist to do that with until they hired Bumblefoot a week before the Hammerstein shows.

Two years is all it takes for most bands to write and record a new album, but it takes more than that for Axl to re-record the stuff of ONE guitarist? Right.

This album is NEVER COMING OUT. Go and look at that timeline in Entertainment Weekly about all the promises from Axl and his management over the years that have never come to fruition. IN 1996 they said "We could see a GNR album out at the end of the year" - THE END OF WHAT YEAR?! It's 10 years later now and we're still sitting through the lies that Axl fed us in 1996, 1999, 2000, 2001, 2002, 2004 and once again this year.

The sooner you realize that Chinese Democracy is simply not going to be released, the better you'll sleep at night.

Why oh why do you come to a GNR board if you feel this way? Damn, if I feel I've been lied to over and over again, I get out of the relationship. Alot of the bashers around these parts must be masochists to the extreme. ;)

Axl said the album's coming out this year. I trust that it will. :xmasssanta:

  8. well if they stuck to plan and released the album it would be a completey different siduation i don't think its a failure but its not good ethier

I am going to respectfully disagree with the post. There is no album...there is virtually no marketing...and yet, I rocked out with 11,000+ in Jersey...Nova Scotia's place had 10,000+ for a sell-out...and personally, I'm sick of the negative a-holes who sit on their thumbs criticizing a band they haven't even seen live.

2006 will be a year marked by close to a million people seeing GNR live throughout Europe and North America. Failure my ass!
