  1. This is where Axl, to me, comes off as a d-bag the most:

Taking into consideration the history of Guns N' Roses, those who plan to attend along with those the Hall for reasons of their own, have chosen to include in "our" induction (that for the record are decisions I don't agree with, support or feel the Hall has any right to make)

What exactly does he mean here? Ought the Hall of Fame had asked him first to include? If not the Hall, who does have the right to make the decision who is inducted? Axl Rose? It might (or might not, I don't know, but that doesn't matter for the argument) be a really fucked up representation of Guns n' Roses in that case. And who would decide who the decider is? Is it by committee? Do the members of the band get a vote? Do the fans vote? What's this shit? It comes across, to me, as Axl actually saying that he is Guns n' Roses.

I've never been a fan of these people as people. I think anyone who is is kinda fucked up. There's some really great people to admire out there, and these guys aren't it. I've only ever been a fan of them as musicians, and more specifically, them as a band.

Could Axl have been subtly referring to Green Day too?

I mean seriously, could anyone here honestly believe Axl would be cool with Green Day inducting GNR?

I'm pretty sure Axl has consistently stayed apolitical over the years...Green Day gets political.

While personally I enjoy some Green Day tunes, I don't think Axl would have been super cool with Green Day inducting him and the band into the HOF.

    Just a thought.

  2. "Same shit, different DJ."

Slash, you're a classy guy. :fuckyou:

He's just mad because he ain't gonna cash in on any reunion now.

You people do know that there is a thing called DJ's?

"Same shit, different DJ" means that all DJ/club music sound the same (and like shit)

So, what you're saying is Slash just randomly grabbed a t-shirt from his closet that just randomly could be seen as a slight to a current GNR axeman.

If you really believe that, fine. I don't believe that. I believe it was a calculated and subtle diss of DJ.

  3. 62 pages of hate? Wow. And some of you call yourselves fans.

I had zero expectations for the Rock N Roll Hall Of Fame. Why people are upset with Axl because he doesn't want to perform with a few people he doesn't like is beyond me. Axl and Slash haven't spoke to each other in something like 15 years. Get over it.

    LEAVE AXL ALONE!!!

    leave-britney-alone-02.jpg

Not once did I say leave him alone. Learn to read.

All you fucking reunion cupcakes should be banned.

How is it people are still upset about this? He called Slash a cancer a few years ago and you still expect him to attend? Give your fucking head a shake.

Hey, that's a terrible picture of a crying Duff!

On a serious note, the HOF reportedly told Axl he's in like it or not??? Seriously???

Is the HOF familiar with Axl's legal team? If not, they might be soon. ;)

  4. :(

    Oh well.

I would like to think that the majority of us weren't expecting anything to happen and Axl's letter certainly confirms that but...

    Damn!

A few minutes in each other's company was all that I wanted and I guess that was asking too much.

If an appearance at the Hall of Fame was it then I hope Axl can bury the hatchet before one of them passes away.

I'm fairly certain Axl would be more than happy to bury a hatchet...but you may not be happy with WHERE he'd likely want to bury that hatchet. ;)

  5. How cool would it be if all the mother fuckers announcing they are "done with GNR" had the integrity of Axl???

If they had Axl's resoluteness, they'd kindly cancel their accounts and just go away...

but no...sadly, they will foolishly cling to a past that has no place in the future.

...they will likely (in true moronic fashion) stay tuned in so they can anonymously slander Axl on internet message boards. Brilliant!

Then GNR would be dead a long time ago. Most of the people who like GNR are fans of the old band! Suck on that, cause the truth hurts right? Everything here, even CD is based on what Slash,Duff, Izzy, Steven, Matt and Axl accomplished. Axl is one out of 6 guys, and you can clearly see that, he doesn't do shit, just touring playing a few song he managed to write in 15 years, + a bunch of songs written and recorded with other people when he actually mattered to people outside of these forums.

How many pages ago did you say you were done with Guns N Roses?

Thank you for proving my point so quickly! :)

btw, who said you can't or shouldn't be a fan of the old band? Lots of folks like old cars, old baseball teams, old airplanes that existed in the past but will never exist again.

Go on with your bad self...but the efforts you go to, to shit on Axl and GNR 2012, is just pathetic.

btw, you don't like your favorite bands being selective with their material? Sounds kinda nutty to me. I prefer quality to quantity.

Well, you obviously have noe clue about what you're talking about. I don't have to shit on anything, Axl is excellent at doing that himself. And your quality/quantity sentence makes no sense whatsoever.

You are still here. Boy, when you say you are done with a band you sure mean it, eh? :)

Hey, since Axl's just 1/6th of the old band, perhaps the other 5 should get together and make a REAL GNR album, right? I'd loooove to hear that album.

btw, the quality/quantity line was used in reference to Axl not releasing sub-par albums like so many other bands out there, just for the sake of making a buck. Hence, quality over quantity. ;)

  6. How cool would it be if all the mother fuckers announcing they are "done with GNR" had the integrity of Axl???

  7. How cool would it be if all the mother fuckers announcing they are "done with GNR" had the integrity of Axl???

  8. Love it when Axl goes off on a tangent like that, always interesting to hear his thoughts and that makes a lot of sense and imo the right decision, GNR is very alive and proving folks wrong and Axl still has fire for that band.

You think Axl wrote more than a few words of that? LOL. That was done by his "yes men" AKA Beta and family. Think of the $$$ they have sucked outta him.

What part of Axl's history makes you believe he'd let ANYONE put words in his mouth???

    Your post is ridiculous.

Jesus Christ, you've seen Axl's writing style...not too many folks out there write like Axl.

...and to the delusional "Reunionists," :rofl-lol:

  9. I find it hard to continue to stand up for Axl in arguments with non-guns fans. Fair enough he wants nothing to do with the old band, but he seems unable to see that the only way he can fully achieve respect with nu-guns is to release new music. One album in roughly 20 years does nothing but enhance the 'hired hands' view point from anyone who isn't a guns fanatic, and sadly anyone who I talk to about them doesn't give a single shit about them. It's sad because we can all see the talent and potential of the current band, however without new music there is no way we can continue to stand up for Axl without looking like a brainwashed asshole

I'm sorry you feel that way. (the part about thinking when you are standing up for Axl you are a "brainwashed asshole.")

    In my opinion, that's sad.

btw, I don't see the logic in "1 album in 20 years enhancing the "hired hands" viewpoint"... would Axl releasing 7 albums in 20 years with new members change the tired slanderings of reunionists? I think not. One album or 50 albums...it wouldn't change the same tired calls for something that was, that's never to be again.

Now, about the HOF, just when I thought I immensely respected Axl Rose...he goes out and makes me respect him even more.

Fuck the haters. Axl didn't bend one goddamned inch! LOVE IT!

To those saying "fuck you" to Axl, try putting yourselves in someone else's shoes for a change.

  10. I love it when people say "so and so doesn't owe us anything"

    Bullshit!

Axl, Slash the whole band owe us.

Without US they wouldn't have a dollar. Nobody would even know them.

You are only as famous as your fans allow you to be. If none of us bought their records in the 80s/90s nobody woulda given a shit about them.

We are the ones paying Axl's bills. Nobody cares about them anymore but we keep going to their concerts, buying chinese democracy etc.

I went to both Australia Adelaide shows. I bought Chinese Democracy. Nobody knew they were still even around or had a new album coming out.

Axl us all us fans. We gave them our lives.

They can at least get to together for 1 night and show us some goddam appreciation. Don't blame Izzy. Ill be happy with just Axl, Duff and Slash.

Come on Axl you said back in December you understand how it means a lot to the fans and didnt' wanna be seen as the bad guy. Pull this off and you will look like a hero.

    PLEASE

    I say "bullshit" right back.

You say "Axl owes all us fans. We gave them our lives." Seriously? Sounds like a martyr complex to me.

Because you bought a cd or a t-shirt, you are entitled to control the man's life?

I wonder if this translates to personal lives too. I'm a married lone wage-earner...because I technically pay all the bills, my wife must follow all my commands? God that sounds fucked up to me.

Have you not heard Axl say he would never perform on stage with Slash again?

This is like watching a bunch of pouting kids who are pissed off their parents are divorced. "Why won't mommy and daddy get married again! WAHHHH!"

Axl has thanked his fans repeatedly over the years, at shows, on the internet, etc. Did he have to? No. Did he graciously? Yes.

Again, he doesn't owe you or me, or anyone, one goddamned thing.

  11. Ron must not shave that beard. There is a ton of potential there! Did anybody here catch CBS' The Amazing Race last Sunday? There is some crazy-ass shit Ron can do with that facial quaff.

    Utilize the potential Mr. Thal!!!

  12. Should the current members say a few words come April 14? No

But I think they should be present there (either backstage or in the audience) if only to support Axl and Dizzy. Hired guns or not they are in a band with 2 of the people getting inducted and they should be allowed to show their support! All this talk about how they "should not even be near the venue" is just childish.

    Agreed.

  13. - Rocket Queen '10

Rocket Queen is one of my favorite songs and he fucking nailed it here, his vocals were eerily good that night.

Damn, that's one of, if not the best performances by Axl in recent years.

One of (if not thee) best TILs as well that night in Puerto Rico.

  14. Axl at his best:

This I Love: Prague, Puerto Rico, and San Sebastian...all of those are absolutely amazing. (I believe they were all 2010) and, I must say I'm biased as hell and saw Axl nail it live in Atlantic City 2012.

    Nightrain: Rock Am Ring 2006.

Madagascar: Boston '02, and as mentioned earlier, what Axl does towards the end of the Budapest '06 Madagascar is other-worldly.

    The Blues: Boston '02.

Sailing @ Wembley is un-fucking believable. God damn that song should be an official cover on their next album.

Free-Fallin' with Tom Petty's a great exhibition of vocals in my opinion too.

(whole shows) Chicago and Paris '92 are required viewing...the Freddie Mercury tribute as well.

so many more, but that's a good start.

  15. I am envisioning the AFD lineup humbly accepting their nomination. IMO there will be no GNR performance at the HOF.

If I was Slash, I wouldn't stand too close to Axl. Just sayin'.

What I'd like to see in conclusion, a smile from Axl and a, "you can burn in hell Slash...peace out" would be just fine with me...but I don't think Axl would do that.

    It'll be interesting.

btw, no singer's gonna come close to Axl...there is no substitute. any other singer would look foolish trying, and that's why I don't see it happening.

  16. BTW, Ballad of Death and Mi Amor are just a collection of cliches and his repetitive licks. He probably wrote both in 5 minutes.

...you mean like Slash did with SCOM? Right.

  17. At the risk of trading DJ-bashing for Finck-bashing, The Ballad of Death and Mi Amor are two solos I'd MUCH rather hear than solos I heard from Finck.

Both guys seem fucking cool to me...neither struck me as a "poser."

Both had great stage presence, just different types.

Based on the solos DJ came up with, I am very optimistic Axl and DJ could make some beautiful GNR tunes together.
