  1. No, I don't. He makes his money off of touring and he has to realize that he's exhausted the GN'R catalog as the setlist stands. There are no other hits to incorporate, so new material is a necessity.

I think he's completely comfortable w/ CD2, by the way. Why else would he state it's complete and post pictures from production in the studio?

I hope that they embrace the digital era soon. Make CD2 the last full disc, then start putting out single songs and/or EPs.

  2. No, if Axl is working on vocals now it will probably still be at least a few more years before a product is ready for release.

Why? he might be finishing off vocals or just adding a few lines here and there. He did vocals for 3 songs on Angel Down. How long did that take him? He also said CD ll was done not long ago. He could be recording vocals for completely new songs.

CD ll could be released next year, but because it's Axl I think 2 or 3 years from now is more realistic.

His vocals on Angel Down were done in one session and on a whim, Sebastian texted him and asked " when ya gonna come sing on my record". Axl responded w/ a when and where and went and knocked them out all at the same time. The vocals on Love Is a Bitch Slap weren't planned. Sebastian just thought of that while they were there.

So, I don't think vocals are quite the issue everybody thinks they are. Maybe the layering and overdubs, but if the songs are done, I think that means musically and vocally. he's just a tinkerer and tends to overproduce, lately.

  3. NOTHING by the 2001-2002 version fo the band is equal to the AFD band. They never had a show as energetic or as organic or as mindblowing as the AFD lineup. They never created anything even remotely as iconic or enjoyable as the AFD band. In 2014 if you put the AFD band together on stage, even with Steven they'd blow the 2001=2002 lineup off the stage. The original post isn't controversial it's just straight up fantasy.

You can't be serious. Old band is awesome, but it's not even close. Strictly speaking in terms of live musicianship, old guns couldn't even road crew for new guns. (and yes, I saw them both)

  4. The guy above me has good taste! I don't know what to say? Yesterdays is a little blase', but it still rocks.

I'd really like to judge anybody who wrote "Just Another Sunday" as a favorite. I'd like to judge them w/ a jump kick to the face for liking such a piece of shit song.

    Top 3

    1. Rocket Queen - it's got everything you need in a song. part ballad/part bad motherfucker

    2. Patience - beautiful song w/ a great ending. (and it may be "our song" for me and a girl I love)

    3. Oh My God - Just a mean song that I think has the perfect amount of production. Not too raw, not super polished like CD songs. It was an awesome way to come back on the scene!

  5. one of you keyboard warriors should read the fucked up comment posted below the article and blow that motherfuckers computer up ! :headbang:

It's america, everyone is entitled to their opinions -- we still have freedom of speech

that's fuuny , I use my freedom of speech on this board , my posts get deleted , and I get a temporary ban. go figure :drevil::hahafyou::jerkoff::crazy:

Different in online things really, it is whether or not it is chosen to be allowed here. So you do have the right to say it, the mods also have a right to remove it :)

    Uh, Joseph Stalin much?

  6. 1993 version for sure.

Slash owns that solo, literally, since y'know, he wrote it. ;)

That isn't fair. Just based off of what I heard, there is no comparison w/ old to new. You don't prefer Dylan's original KOHD to the Freddie Mercury tribute, do ya?

Honestly, the old one sounded sloppy and that solo at 3:00 was a bonafide mess.

Comparing actually gave me a glimpse as to why Axl might be so satisfied playing the same ol' shit w/ these new guys. So much better except that they're different people.

  7. My problem isn't the setlist, it's the order!

Minus a song or two, the Guns "setlist" is exactly what I'd want to hear.

I just hate that I know what song is coming up next every time. I can't stand that the stage set is low on visuals and is designed for a sprinting Axl Rose who doesn't run. I loathe that Axl is gonna leave the stage 73 times in 3 hours.

I love the players!!! I love the songs!!! I just want it to feel more special and less like Walmart.

Vince Neil can't sing at all and Motley Crue shows are always entertaining. Crue shows are so high on production and visuals that you forget that fat fuck is out in front skipping words and holding the mic to the crowd to sing half of the time. Blink 182 uses lasers and different smaller screens to make each song unique. Hell, even Vampire Weekend does more and all they use is can lights and a single screen that looked like a tapestry half the time.

I don't want Axl to run around. I want him on stage the whole time. I don't need a new setlist. I need a new song or two.

    What do you think?
