  1. This forum has always been the best GNR fansite, but the lack of progress or released information on the part of the band has made me lose interest in the forum.

Have you guys been visiting the site less as well now that nothing is happening again.

Here's another thing I've been thinking about, that I'm sure you all have been thinking. March 6? No Chance!

We have no single, no news, no video, no word at all.

I just don't know if I believe in the ChinDem dream anymore. I grew tired of telling people I know, that it would be out by the end of the year, but then Axl appeased us all again by telling us March 6th 2007. I'm just getting the idea that this could be the same old story. Give us a release date, and then right before that date extend your time period for the work on the album.

I'm kind of going off on a tangeant here, but I'm just trying to get a feeling of where everyone stands on this at the moment. One other thing is that I can't understand why they would be planning more tours if the album won't be done. But who knows, maybe it is this time. We'll see.

Thanks for reading my pointless jibber-jabber.

  2. After reading all of what has transpired today I have come to some conclusions. The first being, that if Axl just opened up and talked to the media then there likely wouldn't have been such a fuss about the album being delayed. I feel better than ever about the chance of it being released because he finally spoke to the fans about the many issue's surrounding the band.

Also, he finally got rid of the dead weight that is Merck Mercedius. Merck has been detrimental to this band in my opinion for a lot of years. Obviously it must be hard to manage a band like this considering all of what has happened over the years, but I still fail to see why booking 70 concerts around the world, hiding information from everyone, and claiming that it would be out on one of the 13 Tuesdays needed to be done. To put it simply, everyone involved should've just focused on the albums completion instead of the pressures of trying to complete it while on the road. It should have been complete and ready to distribute before the New York City shows were even announced.

I just have to say now, that I'm extatic that Axl himself finally cleared everything up. He was the only one who could do it, and he should have done it ages ago, but I'm still happy and almost proud that finally did it. I know GNR fans, especially those of us who check these forums, have been demanding over the years, and it likely has made Axl skeptical of the fans and giving them anything at all. But when it comes down too it, we've been supporting GNR for over 10 years with no album, and with a constant stream of deceipt and dissapointment, whether Axl initiated it or not. WE DESERVE TO BE INFORMED.

In conclusion, thank you to Axl for doing the right thing...eventually. Merck is out, who cares who is in...as long as Merck is out. I said many times that I will only wait until the end of this year to hold the GNR faith, obviously now things have changed. So I will hold out a little longer as a fan, and longtime "promoter" of the band, as long as Axl sticks to his word and releases it in or around March. Maybe things are finally headed in the right direction for GNR, let's hope!

  3. I personally have lost hope that the album will come out this year at this point unless something amazing and unexpected occurs. As a long, longtime fan, I can honestly say that I will have lost interest in scouring the messageboards daily and discussing GNR with people I know. I love the old band, the new band, the old songs, and the new ones, but if Axl and Merck dick us over again, I'm out. I, like many of you I'm sure, have been supporting this band by going to several concerts and discussing them with everyone I know to keep the dream alive...sort of speak...but I'm tired of telling people "Axl promised this year". If the man, Axl Rose actually lied, I for one will be done on the messageboards and done caring.

The fact that they just keep the fans in the dark for absolutely no reason has become detrimental to this band. As I am sure you all know, GNR isn't popular anymore...not that I care...but I think the band should care. Everyone I ever discuss GNR with has nothing but negative shit to say, including a lot of people here on MYGNR and over at HTGTH.

The true GNR fans have really stuck it out for this band, and have kept faith in what Axl and Merck have been saying over this past year. As far as I concerned the tour has been a success, and there have been a lot of great GNR moments like: Axl's spaz out and great performance at Download (which I went to), GNR's comeback to North America, Axl at the MTV Awards, and the band jamming with the Trailer Park Boys.

I'm on a bit of a rant here, but there is a point. I've been a big fan and supporter for a long time, even "through all the fucking shit" as Slash once said, but this will be the last time I hold faith in GNR. 4 more weeks until I officially give up on the new GNR, Chinese Democracy, and especially Axl Rose.

Where do you guys stand on this stuff? I'm wondering if I'm alone here. And please let this thread go mod's, it's not hurting anything. Thanks, Peace out.

  5. This topic was already posted and merged into the Comments and Release Dates From Record Stores thread.

Feel free to discuss it there.

I just called HMV in Canada out of curiosity. They have nothing in their system about it at the one I called. The guy got a good laugh out it too, so it was all in good fun.

  6. if axl is reading this forum like so uf u think he is he is proly laughing his ass oooofffff :rofl-lol::rofl-lol: keeping us guys up and chasing the album that is not coming out for now...and yeh mereck is most likely jerking off :rofl-lol: :krider: :fuckyou:

Buddy you beat me to the punch. I was going to say the same exact thing as you said. I really do wonder if he sits and reads all this shit and laughs about it every night before he goes to bed. I would, these threads are way too much fun.

  7. You get the same shit. There are a large amount of you guys who post here to disparage the band and spend more time bashing them than talking about what you like about them. We all know they have done some stupid shit over the years, but everyone already knows about that shit and doesn't need to be reminded everyday on MyGNRForum or HTGTH.

This isn't a hit on this message board, because I really like this message board. It is well organized, the mod's are good, and there are some cool people here for sure. But there are way too many cynics, who not only post mean shit about bands they love, including but not limited to GNR, but they also post the mean and negative shit to every post left here.

If someone new has a few questions about the board or the band, chill out and help them out instead of trying to make fun of them. They just want some info on GNR like everyong else here. And when someone posts a story or rumour that has already been posted, don't rip on them, they are just trying to do their part to bring up to date info to this forum.

This shit is just a tendency of all people. People tend to focus more on the negative aspects of things that the positive. There aren't enough thread's created to discuss the great things this band has accomplished over the years. I find there are much more on "why Axl's haircut is so gay", "how everything is going to self destruct soon for GNR", and "how they are never going to release the album". Just fuckin' chill out about all that shit and try discussing why "the last great Rock and Roll band" is so great for a change.

I like this forum a lot, I can't emphasize that enough...so I really hope this doesn;t get deleted right away :). I just think the negativity here is overwhelming and need's to be discussed.

My only message here is think before you post. It only takes a second. Just think to yourself, "do I feel like engaging in a conversation about my favorite band today, or do I feel like being a pessimist?". What do the rest of you guys think?

there is a deeper problem here that no one (even mods at ALL bb's) wants to address. someone wants to spread lies and disinfo about guns

    lies.jpg

this is a MOST UNUSUAL SITUATION that most other bands don't have to deal with. and axl has known about it all along

    lies.jpg

but since everyone at ALL of the bb's ends up so concerned about defending guns or afraid to post because of the lying negative fuckers, you'll never get to the bottom of the deeper issue until, well, nevermind

here's what will happen to YOUR great thread here at this bb. 10 fukcers will first attack you IN this thread. then 10 fuckers will start new threads and/or respond in 10 others that will make your great post die. it's REALLY REALLY easy.

I totally agree. No matter what you post a bunch of epople will ruin your thread right away. Often you just want to see what other people are thinking about something, that's why you start a thread. Then it takes one dipshit to say something random or stupid and everything is ruined. Than the thread becomes a continuous stupid arguement between a couple of epople instead of what it was set out to be. That is definately veryirritating at times.

  8. It isn;t just negativity towards the band though. It is directed towards the people who slam everything that everybody ever says on this forum. Jokes and shit are all good. But often people are just jumping at the chance to slam someone, just because they don't know about something or are repeating news accidentally. It's just the attitude of a lot of people on this forum and on the internet as a whole. It will never change, but it is worth discussing.

  9. The posts on this forum are going to be representative of how the situation is at the moment. If everything is going great, then we'll have a deluge of positive posts. Sadly, the situation is not great and the forum reflects that.

That is a good point. But I don't think this a negative time to be a GNR fan because they are on tour, playing excellent concerts. Sure the album isn't out yet, but everyone in Europe and North America has had or will have the oppotunity to see them in concert this year. They cancelled one concert yesterday and a lot of people were becoming doomsayers instantly. Shows get cancelled, happens all the time. I think the fact that they have done so well so far on this tour is a big positive...and the album will be out eventually. As much as I can't wait to have it, it's not killing me that I don't have it. I'd rather have an awesome finished product than something that Axl and the band didn;t feel was finished no matter how long it takes.

  10. I just think the negativity here is overwhelming and need's to be discussed.

You think the forums are too negative, so you want to discuss the negativity? Doesn't that defeat your purpose?

One can discuss the negativity without being negative. OOOOO :).

  12. NOTE: This release is just the two old documentaries, Sex, Drugs, Rock N' Roll and Axl Rose: The Prettiest Star packaged into one box - highvoltage

    From Blabbermouth.net:

Chrome Dreams has set a January 30, 2007 U.S. release date for GUNS N' ROSES' "Collector's Box" (cover), a two-disc set "which tells the complete and extraordinary story of GUNS N' ROSES using never-before-seen performance and interview footage, interviews with close friends, fellow bandmates, family members, music biz colleagues, and close collaborators who know them best," according to a press release. "It features numerous location shoots, unpublished photographs and a whole host of other features. Extras include digital interactive discography, interactive quiz and 'Did you know?' section."

"Collector's Box" was originally released in Europe in June. More information is available at Amazon.co.uk.

As previously reported, GUNS N' ROSES has postponed the first two shows of its fall U.S. tour. The Jacksonville, FL concert, which was originally supposed to take place October 20, is now scheduled for October 31, and the Nashville, TN show — previously slated for October 22 — will take place in January 2007 (date to be announced).

For a list of upcoming GUNS N' ROSES tour dates, visit the GNR fan site Here Today… Gone To Hell!

GUNS N' ROSES frontman Axl Rose has been saying that the band's long-delayed new album, "Chinese Democracy", will be out later this year.

GUNS N' ROSES' "Greatest Hits" collection, which was originally issued in March of 2004, was certified triple-platinum on April 11, 2006 by the RIAA (Recording Industry Association of America) for shipments in excess of three million copies. The CD sold 12,000 copies in the United States last week alone (week ending October 8), bringing the total number of copies sold since its release to 3.2 million, according to Nielsen SoundScan.

  13. I;ve done some investigating and haven't been able to come up with anything. Have any of you heard anything about these shows (not the Cleveland of Universal shows). Thanks. I just don;t want to wake up tomorrow to find that I missed a presale for the Detroit show. Must go to Toronto and Detroit.

  14. I was going to comment on that! I noticed the flag right away when I watched it the first time.

    I was thinking "Canada's representing...nice!"

    That was you dude??....that's cool!

    That's definately me :).

I'll be back in that spot for the Toronto show! Maybe I'll see you there.

  15. It's so funny. If you watch the Paradise City video on www.gunsnroses.com, you can see me in it in the front row. I know you all probably don't care, but I find it to be funny. Go to 3:50 in the video and look for a guy in the front row holding a Canadian flag. Representin', haha.
