He'll get all the fucking attention he deserves when the dude actually puts some fucking effort into doing his shit

as far as I'm concern, hiding in his cave for 2 decades and looking like a zombie on stage do not qualify at all

What's with all this cave or in the desert stuff in reference to Izzy? Believe it or not he has a life outside of Guns N' Roses and he probably lives his life like anyone not in a band. I've never heard of you before this, should I assume you just came out of a cave because you haven't had your every move published online?

Depends on context..saying not much doesnt mean he hasnt had anything to do with the band.. occasional live appearances for a song or two shouldn't be equal to playing full shows for an entire leg of a tour. or handling business behind the scenes, which both Slash and Duff did throughout various occasions even when they werent band members.

By the time Duff was playing full shows you could say he was basically back in the band again, even if it hadn't been made official. And if you're going to argue behind the scenes work is either that much commitment or deserving of band status then we might as well get the accountant on drums and Axl's lawyer on rhythm guitar. Because they did the hard work on that one. Saying yes or no to something, instructing a lawyer to do something, or turning up somewhere for 30 minutes to sign a document is hardly hard work or deserving of huge amounts more money than someone else who wrote two thirds of the originals that are being played live

True. but does that matter? appearances whether spread out or not is still the same tally once its added up.

Well you said he hasn't had much to do with the band for 25 years so the spread counts. Izzy played in 1994, 2006, and in 2012. He played with them live again 4 years before Duff did and then again before Duff did in 2014. To say he didn't have anything to do with the band for 25 years is a bit inaccurate

Duff played on a whole leg of the tour when Stinson wasnt available. Full shows, not just guest appearances on a few songs. Id imagine the tally of Live shows played with Nu-Guns is probably pretty close between Duff and Izzy

That was getting to the point where Duff was coming back. Izzy did his appearances over a much longer spread

I feel like I am the only one who loves this topic. I like the back and forth debates and the speculation (though a few of us have a problem with understanding speculation and opinions are not facts and that just because someone disagrees with us does not mean they are wrong nor are they stupid).  I like seeing people state their position and explain why that is their position and rebuttal others who point out the flaws. It is unfortunate that many times it devolves into "you are an Axlite" "you are a [whatever the Izzy equivalent is- apparently he isn't hated enough to have his own insulting coined term].

I guess many fans just take this too personally.

I think you are referring to Izzholes

I agree, which is why I said that there is never middle ground with this fanbase. its always one extreme or another. Very fickle if you ask me. one day, its all Roses with the big 3, and then suddenly they're the bad ones because some part of the fans think they're fucking Izzy over, when in reality we dont know shit.

I think both sides are wrong. people overrate his importance, and others dismiss it completely. when it shouldnt be that way. Ive seen some people on here say, that the stuff that doesnt have Izzy on it on the Illusions is shit, and thats simply not true..lol

The importance argument is not really important for this discussion. They not giving Izzy equal cut doesnt mean they dont think he is important. But they may not think he deserves it or its justifiable because he hasnt had much to do with GNR for 25 years. whether the big 3 were fighting each other or people trying to exploit the GNR name doesn't matter. they still took care of GNR. Izzy didnt.

what bothers me is Izzy throws little bits of info. but not the whole story. Which shifts alot of shit his friends way. making them the bad guys, and him exempt, which is think isnt fair.

    True, we don't know.

Not sure about the 25 year thing. He had more live appearances with the band during the nuguns period than anyone else did

Fucking Bravo. finally some logic and levelheadedness

Some people on this forum are Izzy nutcases.. I swear Izzy does no wrong in their eyes..lol like No one is a saint or a little white lamb in this whole ordeal, except maybe Adler who probably does his guest spots for next to nothing because he just so badly wants to be involved with his "friends" and play music

This is great time for GNR and fans..a year ago this band was near dead. I swear this fanbases is too jaded at times. there cant be a middle ground. its always one extreme or the other..lol

The thing is though some people are seeing it from the exact opposite end and making out that Izzy doesn't matter, which is madness. To think that the band would have the legacy they have without Izzy's involvement is just naivety or picking bits of history that you want to see. "Guns N Roses are doing fine without Izzy so he was never that important" = "Boeing are making planes just fine without Orville and Wilbur Wright therefore they were never important to aviation".

Of course they don't 'need' Izzy RIGHT NOW- the success of the tour has proved that already. But then using that logic they probably don't need Duff either, because a tour with Axl, Slash and Izzy would be equally huge. Of course the band can get by without paying Izzy, just the same as they could get away with eating Subway sandwiches each night before the show, but I'm fairly certain they're choosing to burn a bit of their cash because they WANT a nicer dinner. This band is and has always been a jigsaw puzzle; on their own they can be quite average at times, but when together magic happens. Unfortunately they live in a world where people tell them everything they do is amazing so they have an inflated idea of their own individual contribution. They need to take a step back and see the whole picture - Izzy is very definitely in that picture

  8. I think ultimately Izzy just wants to be treated as an equal. The guy has his name on the bulk of the material that's being played live yet they want to pay him as though he were a session musician. It doesn't matter what happened in the band since he quit, because they fucked it all up and burnt it to the ground. All of them. This year sees the phoenix taking flight again and how the hell they're neglecting to see that Izzy was there for every decent song they ever made together I'll never know. Strange class system going on in the band when Izzy gets treated as less essential than Dizzy

I never saw a problem with Izzy's stage presence. He was cool, quiet and had a very very fucking killer style. And that was actually what attracted me to him in the first place. As I said, I started playing guitar cause of that quiet mysterious looking guy. If I wanted to see people running around I'd watch the Olympics

Exactly. You can't have everyone up there going nuts at once or then everything is neutral again and nothing stands out. It's like when they say it's the space between the musical notes that is important. It provides balance and Izzy balances the band. Also his idea of the original 5 doing new material sounds genius

2 Coachella dates and 2 Vegas dates. Yeah I think its crap not sure if that was just for the first 4 shows!

I was told this back in March

A direct quote from Duff's mouth " Izzy thinks he's gonna get his fucken 25% back, that's never gonna fucken happen"

A split of Axl 25% Slash 25% Duff 20% Izzy 20% Steven 10% seems about right

Lot more than a couple percent if he really was demanding equal money. Slash just had a divorce. Can't blame him if he wants to get as much as he can from this deal. Duff is the reason Slash and Axl are even on speaking terms. Why should he give up anything out of his share? I don't think Axl was happy with how much Izzy demanded from his management for guest appearances through the years. They all have their reasons and different perspectives. I don't blame Izzy for wanting equal share. I don't blame the others for saying no.

I agree they all have their reasons and different perspectives. We don't know the full story either. I still feel pretty confident we're going to see Izzy at some point

The issue is he quit the legal partnership. Sold his rights to the other three at the time. He has a right to demand equal treatment. They have a right to say hell no. I don't think either side is wrong. Both have valid viewpoints in this situation.

They should throw that old partnership agreement out the window. Create a new one. Hiding behind lawyers and saying they can't do something because an existing partnership agreement gets in the way is lame old man suit and tie bullshit. This is a rock n roll band who make people happy through the energy and sound they produce together. They're all rich anyway and should be grateful for what each other allowed them all to achieve as a unit. Them + Izzy (and Steven) is where the magic happens and who gives a fuck if they're down a couple of percentage points of pay

  13. It's possible there's more to this than meets the eye. I love Izzy, probably my favourite member but I just wonder if there's some key part that we're missing. That $40,000 figure sounds like an insult no doubt about it. But seeing as Axl wants to keep going with playing the Chinese stuff, was Izzy willing to learn those songs? Or is this further complicated by Izzy only wanting to do old stuff and write some new songs but Axl wants to keep going with the Chinese and is holding out because Izzy doesn't want to play it... Can't imagine Izzy wanting to learn Chinese songs, maybe that's part of the issue

Who stood to gain the most once Axl separated from his band of brothers in the 90's? The Brazilian leeches who continue to run the GnR brand into the ground.

Axl is capable of thinking and acting how he chooses and he sure made some bad decisions back in the day. This is the same guy that flushed a fortune down the toilet for some psychic named Yoda to tell him about his past lives. He's a 54 year old with a full-time nanny.

They are reuniting now because the money is too good to pass up and nu-guns was on life support by 2014 -- if Axl makes a ton of cash, it only benefits TB. And he won't kick them out now after 20 + years because they're his only family. In other words, they had nothing to lose with Slash joining the fold again. Giant payday guaranteed and the GnR brand is resurrected from the dead despite their awful mismanagement of band affairs.

Anyone with an iota of objectivity should be able to see TB for what they really are.

I used to be angry like you but there's something about a band getting over a 20+ year grudge that made me think that I should too

Well... let's not go that far. Beta's feelings about Slash pre-reunion were not that great and she certainly played her part in widening the rift between Slash and Axl all these years. "Beggars and hangers on"

How much of it do we know is true though? What happened to the rumour that she would quit if Axl reunited with Slash? Also I'm pretty sure Axl is capable of thinking and acting how he chooses. It says in the interview Axl wanted Slash's number. Beta and Fernando get him the number. Axl calls and gets the band back together....  How did Team Brazil get in the way of what Axl wanted?

What were Beta's feelings about Slash pre-reunion?

I can give you about a hundred examples of shows where Axl shits all over Izzy in public ...

Yeah and as a fan since 88 I'm pretty sure Ive seen most of what you're referring to. I guess it depends on whether you want to see the positive or the negative in people, or criticise them for everything they said in anger going decades back. Seems pretty obvious to me from the video that Axl at least wants to remain respectful to Izzy and not shit on people

Axl Rose Manager Slams AC/DC Fans Who Don't Like Band's Current Lineup

    September 5, 2016

According to The Pulse Of Radio, a longtime key member of GUNS N' ROSES' management team, Beta Lebeis, posted a message on Instagram in which she responded to fans critical of GUNS singer Axl Rose doing double duty as the current touring frontman for AC/DC. Lebeis wrote: "Do them a favor, don't come or watch any shows. They don't need assholes like you around. You are an illness to both bands."

Lebeis said later in a second post: "I'm sure all of you wish Brian [Johnson, AC/DC singer] would be there, but Brian is sick and for God's sake, just appreciate what's up there and stop being so selfish. Grow up and stop complaining. This is also about Angus [Young] and his mates, have some respect for them. Brian chose to leave due to health issues and Axl is helping his idol. I guess haters will always be haters and have nothing better to do than shit on other people."

Axl Rose was recruited to sing for AC/DC on a series of European gigs and a current run of ten North American shows after severe hearing problems forced Johnson to stop performing live.

Rose's performances with AC/DC have been widely acclaimed by fans and the press.

People don't change their opinion because someone else tells them they should. Really the only important bit that needs to be said in the article is the last sentence

Rose's performances with AC/DC have been widely acclaimed by fans and the press.
