Btw...it seems like they really considered a whole reunion.
Stevens back injury + izzys declination + the fact that Axl didn't want them to play cd songs...sounds a lot like: it was planned to be a real reunion. On the other hand...why no Gilby and Matt then?
Because the door is still open for Steven and Izzy if it all lines up

Album artwork FTW!
I hope we get new music soon. That would be swell.
Can't be too far off if they're thinking of the artwork already!

i agree that axl didnt shit on izzy on this interview
(but i guess you remember he spent like a year or something ranting about izzy onstage during the illusion tour)
I'm not saying he's perfect, but I can see that he is trying his best to be respectful and not make their issues public

yeah, thats your conclusion
axl never said that
he said that HE DOESNT KNOW WHAT TO SAY ABOUT IZZY
he said that things seem to go one way and then the next day they go other way
the only thing that you can say about it is that THEY DIDNT REACH AN AGREEMENT
its not even clear if axl talked to izzy directly
all these disagreements may have been through lawyers or "axl people" or who knows who else talked to izzy
Kind of reminded me of the making of Don't Cry video where Axl talks about the Izzy situation and how Izzy didn't want to be there, at least on the terms that existed between them. Although they're having issues you really have to give Axl credit, he doesn't shit on people. They may not be seeing eye to eye but Axl doesn't call names or tell stories.
I really want Izzy there, not only is he an essential component of the band chemistry I think it would be good for Axl. You can tell when relationships are strained that it takes a toll on him and his energy

Great interview! Didn't pussy about and asked a lot of the questions that we've been wondering for a while. Also cracked me up how Slash wasn't there but there's this little shrine to Slash with a Les Paul and Marshall speaker in between Axl and Duff.
I have a feeling that we'll get an interview with all three or with Axl and Slash soon. With this reunion they like to build things gradually, giving a little bit of something before we get the whole thing.
Also liked how Steven and Izzy is a definite possibility if they can all line their shit up together. Come on Izzy, fight for it... We want you there man

I meant he sounds ok on AFD YouTube videos playing to instrumentals these days. Totally agree his drumming on the album is some of the best ever done in the hard rock genre. Live at the Ritz- he steals the show.
Then 25 years of the perils of rock n roll decadance happened. It hit him the hardest with the strokes. It's awesome he's still here and playing with Guns again. But come on. There's no way he can be the main man anymore.
I think you could argue the decadence hit Slash the hardest. Without a defib built into his chest he could go into a bad heart rhythm and die. Duff came pretty close with his pancreas. Seems a bit critical to consider Steven any worse than either, at least in terms of taking things to the limit. Obviously Steven has had issues more recently, but still they were all in a similar league at different times.
Sometimes I think that because Axl wanted Steven gone in 1990 some people feel they have to think the same way. The rest of us can see that Steven is a great guy and a great drummer. Glad to see him back and I hope he stays and expands on his current role

I don't get it - not a big fan of the sound of Frank's drum kit, but when Steven plays on the same kit it sounds great

Wouldn't rule it out if it was LA, but I highly doubt if it hasn't happened yet, it'll happen in SD.

I thought this show was close to sold out too. But i guess it is much lower?
Anybody know? Just looked like there were a few empty chairs at show start. People should know by now that these are the shows where the surprises come out

Axl works so much harder when the audience isn't full. It makes him hungry to prove himself

No sorry it was a joke, but could be cool if they did like Paris 92. That was an awesome show
Ok...

NEW INTERVIEW: Axl and Duff Interviewed by Brazilian TV: "Where's Izzy" / "How did the reunion come about" / "New album" all discussed

I used to have an issue with Team Brazil but see now I was taking my resentment for the band breakup out on them. They seem pretty cool, and it's obvious they care about and look after Axl
