I believe in a full meeting, Adler is playing very well, there are no excuses in not inviting him

Off the top of my head, he's a risk as far as his sobriety goes, and he's an obnoxious personality who's never one to keep his opinion to himself or refrain from crying victim on the radio if he doesn't get his way.

They are so fucking rich now that they can AFFORD to take risks...

Its ROCK N' ROLL after all.   Let it play out LIVE each night in all its magnificent glory...

Adler's such a wild card you don't know what you'll get with him or what stress/problems he may add to a situation that so far seems to be running surprisingly smoothly. I just don't see 60 year old men who seem to have their lives and careers in order wanting to risk rocking the boat for little, if any, return.

...an element of risk is exactly what these guys need right now.

GnFnR, to me, means only one thing - AFD5

Add Izzy and Steven and go ROCK THE PLANET ONE MORE TIME PLEASE!

They're near 60 with families and kids with lucrative music careers....why do they need risk in their lives now? Izzy would be great to have in studio for writing but Alder contributes nothing that's worth the risk or headaches.

  4. Mine mostly fall under the umbrella than them not being obligated to do whatever we want them to.

They don't have to change the set list for people watching every night through someone else's cell phone, they don't have to record an album if they don't want to or feel like they can't, they don't have to let Alder be the drummer and just hope he can handle it, they don't have to give Izzy money he's not entitled to and doesn't deserve.

They play shows. If you'd like to see them play a show, you can buy a ticket and go. If you don't, don't. They sell merchandise. If any of it appeals to you, you're free to buy it. If you don't like it or don't want to pay what they're asking you to pay, don't.

  5. Halifax 06. I went with one group of friends, met up with another group of friends, and were meeting with another group of friends, to pre-drink in our hotel. The pre-party ended when everyone realized the opening bands must be finishing and GNR were about to come on. 3/4 of the party left but the 4 friends that believed me stuck with me and we went down to the hotel bar to keep doing tequila shots. I timed it perfectly, we left the hotel on that "let's party" high, walked right into the concert with about 15 minutes before GNR showed up, but were able to get like 3 rows back on the floor because so many people were wandering around with no idea when they should come back.

It was a good time. I called my sister from the show and was surprised to find her home at 1am on a Saturday (because it was actually Tuesday) and I do remember being checked by security for anything with spikes on it or anything Slash related.

I didn’t say he wasn’t raped, I said I don’t buy it, meaning I don’t believe it.  Quite frankly I think its ridiculous claiming to remember shit from when you were 2 years old.  These ‘therapists’ get paid a great deal of money per hour to tell famous crackpots what they want to hear.

So you didn't say he wasn't raped, just that you don't believe it?

Its really not, the majority of the world do it every day...but you don't hear about those people cuz they don't wear kilts and run up and down ramps and make you feel all tingley when they sing sweet love songs.  The fact that you yourself do it should tell you something.  Its nothing as dramatic as 'confront and conquer', its called doing your fuckin' job, just like everybody else in the world has to.

I don't buy that shit.  Raped by his father, says who?  I'll tell you says who, says regression therapy, you know what regression therapy is?  Some guy sits you on a couch and makes you try and unlock memories from when you were way too young to remember shit.  More than that I think it was irresponsible of Axl to go around claiming he was raped at aged 2 because his fuckin' regression therapist told him so, thats some poor blokes reputation and good name he is putting on the chopping block based on a bunch of new age bullshit, 'regression therapy' is not conventional or textbook psychology, its hokey shit, most especially when its talking about shit that happened when you were in nappies.  And manic depressive, thats the celebrities favourite fuckin' ailment cuz it fits really well into the personality type of an aggressive abusive cunt that doesn't respond well to pressure.  Did gallons of drugs, again, Axl is not reknowned for his drug taking, in fact he's on record as being quite judicious with it.  Having a chip on your shoulder isn't the same as being mentally ill.  Now do I think its possible that he does have mental issues?  Yeah, I think so but at the same time I haven't seen any evidence in any of his behaviour to suggest it was as profound as a lot of what is used to excuse away certain aspects of his behaviour.  All in all your not wrong, it ain't for me to judge but what I can do is respond to judgements that appear spurious when they are presented to me.  And its like I said earlier, if you're THAT mentally ill maybe just like not make music, not tour?  I mean if the shit effects you THAT bad then your well being is more important than making music, at least to my mind.

Let's not make "he wasn't raped because I say so" a thing.

I don't care who is more important. None of the Appetite members can be guests for Guns N' Roses. Having Slash (or Izzy) guest on a Guns album is like somebody guesting at their own party. It is their thing to begin with!!

Izzy and Duff were both referred to as "special guests" when they appeared with GNR. So even if it feels weird, if Slash isn't in GNR and isn't rejoining GNR but will contribute to an album, he could be considered a "guest". Actually it's not bad promotion for him to be singled out like that.

selfesteem is a dangerous thing. there are a lot of actors who think they can act too...there are football experts who never played football, tennis experts that never held a racket in their hand...that is a common prpblem with 90% of the 'experts'

Just so I'm understanding this - you're saying Frank can't drum because you say so and Slash and Duff are mistaken if they think he can.

Axl was trying to get the naming rights to GnR.  He felt that things might be falling apart.  They got rid of Steven Adler, and Izzy got arrested for peeing in the kitchen of the plane , a felony.  By 91, Axl wanted the naming rights so if it all fell apart, GnR would continue with or without Slash,Duff etc..  So he used the crowd as leverage.  The rest of the band was there, but he showed up whenever he wanted.  And they had 2 riots and a few close calls.  Finally Slash and Duff signed it over and Axl was cool again.  But Slash in this interview was just trying to justify it, He didn't want to make things worse.  Axl's excuses about having to get his ankles taped and vocal warmups was just an excuse.  He knew what time the show was supposed to start.  Besides, the Lakers might have been playing!

That whole "Axl wouldn't go on until we signed" thing doesn't add up. Like Axl said years ago, they would have been signing under duress, it wouldn't hold up in court.

Also, I can't remember how Slash addresses it, but in Duff's book he's much more vague about what happened than they were interviews.

Yeah, everybody here knows that, but we would have been fine with izzy and steven doing half shows from time to time. everyone beside Axl was OK with a scenario where gilby, matt, steven and izzy were doing shows on rotation mode.

Duff and slash have absolutely no voting rights about personal and digital release decisions.

When did we find out "everyone but Axl" wanted Izzy and Adler involved somehow?

YAY!!!!!! You can read!! You aren't as dumb as you appear to be. I am so proud of you... His question asked what we as individuals would rather. I answered that.. Now piss off...

    True that

It just seems like a pretty selfish preference. To hell with an album everyone can enjoy, you want Izzy in GNR so you have the peace of mind of knowing he is and have convinced yourself that if Izzy were in GNR all your other annoyances would be taken care of because Izzy would take care of them.

I don't want to argue but please don't put words in my mouth...I didn't say that Duff should have "refused" anything.  Maybe he did tell Axl that Izzy and Steven should be involved and Axl didn't listen, or care to listen.

I wasn't there.  I do believe that you are right though...

Duff was fully behind the decision to not include Steven and Izzy on their terms because it ultimately benefited his own bank account.

Or! He was fully behind the decisions to not include them because Izzy's demands were unreasonable and didn't trust Adler could pull it off.

Trust me, I get that.  I saw three of the "reunion" shows and they were a blast.

But Duff could have been punk as funk if he had told Axl that Izzy and Steven HAD to be involved in that NITL tour with Slash.

It rubs salt in the wound now to see Duff walking the walk and talking the talk for Axl and his "new" music.

Frustrating because IZZY was a major songwriting force in this band and anything new from GnR should involve him, in my not so humble opinion.

Why is Duff judged based on whether he went to bat for Adler or not? Maybe he didn't think Adler was worth the risk either?

Duff has become such a slappy...

and to think that I used to like him.

Money can’t buy happiness but it surely buys silence, total compliance and ‘Punk As Fuck’ t-shirts.

At this point, I don’t want new music anymore.  It’s bound to disappoint and aggravate me.

What is he it he's not saying that you think he should be saying?
