How the fuck does this song not make the album? The only explanation was that he honest to God thought he was going to release two albums.

I was always skeptical of this theory until these songs started leaking and it was clear the music was there. Axl was ready to roll. They gambled by punting, hoping slash would return, never thinking that Axl would legitimately hold out for nearly 10 years.

I am just going off of unreleased Chinese session songs in general, not necessarily just this wave of leaks. If it was performed live that's news to me and i’d love to hear it

Atlas, Goin down, Perhaps, State of Grace, Jackie Chan, we are officially at 5 unheard songs that could have replaced 5 tracks on CD and have made it a much better album.

I think Perhaps is probably the best one.

Imagine if we had this, hardschool, and a finished goin down on the album instead of scraped, if the world, and shackler's or whatever.

What is clear is that there is definitely an album that is not so far off track of what gnr feels like as opposed to what ultimately got released.

The only way some of the songs that didn't make don't make it is if he genuinely thought he was going to put out another record.

I swear to God Axl could just put out his favorite version tomorrow on Bandcamp, and we would all buy it this is so fucking stupid. We just want the fucking music because we are fans why is this so fucking hard you wouldn't need to sue everyone if you just put out music.

The general trend seems to be the earlier version the song, the better it is. Chinese Democracy works so much better as a raw rocker, Catcher in the Rye is leagues better stripped back and with the May solo. The Blues works so much better with the loud intro that was present in ‘02. I don’t imagine these are final mixes but you can easily imagine final mixes of these arrangements that were perfectly suitable for release.

Wait so are people actually debating whether this is about Slash or not because my god what a strange coincidence it would be if it weren’t.

Taking Brian May’s solo off catcher was one of the worst decisions made on CD, along with any potential replacing of Bucket solos. Bucket is really what holds that album together.

This is my periodic note that I will die on Riad hill and the “salvation” part is as catchy as anything gnr ever recorded I will not stand for this slander thank you. 

The bridge section would have been amazing if there were some better guitar playing. The bucket insanity at the end was awesome. This would have been one if the best songs on CD.

That's my new band. It's definitely not very gnr at all, it's blink-182 nofxy sort of skate pop punk. We are pretty brand new and I shouldn't be sharing this but I'm stoked on it.
