This pretty much confirms Frank is the drummer. The drumstick holder has the "Vater Percussion" logo. Frank is sponsored by them, and is the only GNR related drummer to use their sticks.
Brent Fitz uses Vater.
I was going to post this last night. I'm a drummer (you probably are one too) and we know drummers are picky as hell. That drumstick holder is used by Frank and Matt, however you are right is a Vater Percussion. So, this is 99% sure that Frank is playing drums. Matt uses a drumstick holder as well, however, I don't think he's sponsored by Vater.

You also have fold back/stage monitors at sides of the stage. Everything you can see on stage speaker wise that is not a guitar amp will be some kind of monitor speaker. They must have had a shitload on a stage that size.

My fellow musicians who have played live, like I have for many years. Nowadays probably most of us are using in ear monitors, the first time I saw Axl using inears was in RIO 01 and I don't think he was confortable with it, he kept messing with his monitor pack throughout the show.
How did they handle monitoring in the UYI days, with Axl running around that big of stage, I see they used wedges in the front for the band, but was Axl able to hear himself in such a big area? Plus no feedback.
Thoughts?
Dizzy said that the reason Axl's voice sounded so weak in 2001-2002 was because he didn't have to sing loud to hear himself over the stage monitors like he did during the UYI tours - not sure I buy that
Signing loud just to hear himself would explain why he has destroyed his vocal chords

I think it's starting real soon the rehearsals probably minus Axl.
Getting the band tight on some uyi songs perhaps. And adding a few songs. Of the catalog.
But this band can play anything. Frank had to go to La this week so thats prob where they are rehearsing somewhere. Prob a stadium or a large wherehouse.
Prob a warehouse somewhere. Axl haven't rehearsed with band since who knows when, that's true.

This is just pure speculation (because this is what this board needs..lol) but I was wondering last night, and I want to see what everyone else is thinking.
1. Do you guys think they (Axl Slash Duff) have gotten together to rehearse anything at this point?
2. If not, do you think Axl and Slash have spoken in person recently, or was all this done through manager, and possibly Duff?
My opinion is that Axl and Slash have spoken on the phone and nothing else, they cleared out some of their issues, but are yet to even begin to discuss what to play.

I won't argue that. But seriously, they've been playing with the guy for 20 years now since the breakup. They had a whole other successful band with him. Duff and Matt ARE Kings Of Chaos even though its Matt's thing. Duff is always there, so I have to imagine they are really good friends. It shocks me that that all adds up to "we didn't realize he was just a hired hand". I don't feel sympathy for Sorum. It makes me question Duff and Slash's motives.
I just listened to Slash from 2012 on Howard. He is so against going back to GNR that I'm surprised at the moment he does, its under such odd circumstance. You deny how weird it is, and then I question why even bother. There has to be a reason here.
Lets wait until Slash and Duff gives an explanation.

At the end of the day this is all about $$$$ and giving the fans a little bit back. They all toured for 20+ years playing the same GNR songs. Might as well do it together and milk it as much as they can. They are all in their 50s, they won't be able to do it later. Is now or never. We've gone in circles mentioning Izzy and Steven, Izzy will do some shows and Steven can't put up with a whole tour, but like I said the Izzy Steven thing as been discussed for months now.
I know, and I don't mean to judge it up. People can disagree, but to me Slash has been relatively about integrity since leaving GNR. This does seem strange when considering that. I want to believe its not a money grab, in the way that Slash and Duff aren't just doing it for the money. I'm having a really hard time with that if its most NuGuns, which many agree it just shouldn't be. Hence, you get Matt at least.
Hey I agree, I'd love to see the UYI line up. Matt and Gilby if Izzy and Steven were not up to it. Slash has integrity along with Duff, I think they wanted to give back to the fans after so many years, and I actually believe Axl wanted to give back as well.

If I remember correctly, when Axl did Kimmel in 2012 Kimmel said in the monologue that Axl was yet to arrive at studio (maybe it was a joke). I don't expect this to go smoothly at all. When I said ealier its happening, I mean the interview will happen, unless they replace Axl's name with another act.

The fact that he's appearing on Jimmy makes me think that there is a really good agency behind all this. I'm a marketing/pr person, and this is the first time that I see anything GnR related in an organized way. Very exciting.
