  1. and no one fucking aknowledges this. anyone heard this album? its an absolute classic, every single song on it is a fucking gem. but alas since Johnny et al were a bunch of junkies there were production problems and the mix was 'muddy' but even then, with all the different versions of it out there, every single song is a stand out track, the music just shines through on it, i wish more people had heard of it.

"One Track Mind" (Walter Lure/Jerry Nolan)

a wicked little energetic track with all this like, drug hinting in it, nihilistic but totally energetic which brings it up

    "I Wanna Be Loved"

typical johnny thunders love song only with a lotta bounce.

    "Pirate Love"

one of the greatest guitar riffs to come outta rock n roll. johnny later said he stole it from Bad Company but it works SO well!

    "Let Go" (Johnny Thunders/Jerry Nolan)

vaguely misogynist track with johnny bemoaning the fact that girls dont put out enough

"Do You Love Me?" (Berry Gordy, Jr.)

brilliant cover of a classic track. shows johnny obssession with the 50s/doo wop/girl group songs

"Can't Keep My Eyes On You" (Walter Lure/Jerry Nolan)

another 'talkin' bout her' song really cool tho. changed in live version to "Can't Keep My Cock In You' classy johnny!

"Get Off The Phone" (Walter Lure/Jerry Nolan)

gotta hear it to believe it, cool riff

"All By Myself" (Walter Lure/Jerry Nolan)

like most of this album, the live versions are infinitely better because of the whole muddy mix thing but this song, u really see it potential when they did it live, REALLY cool lyrics courtesy of Walter Lure, that nihilist touch again but done with a suave touch which raises it

"Chinese Rocks" (Dee Dee Ramone/Richard Hell)

An absolute fucking anthem of a song!! i think done better than the ramones version because its not so fast and it dwell on that chunky riff and also more relevant for Johnny and the boys cuz they actually were all junkies and living that awful existence. written by two of the greats of the new york punk scene.

    "Baby Talk"

REALLY catchy tune with that machine gun fire drumming roll which makes it totally tasty.

    "Goin' Steady"

same kinda vein as can't keep my eyes on you, funky little track

    "It's Not Enough"

a bluesy masterpiece of a song, its so fucking sad when u apply it to johnnys life and see how he ended up, tragic fucking song, almost Dylanesque in a way and johnny was to later cover dylan extensively on accoustic sets with Like A Rolling Stone and Joey Joey Joey.

    "I Love You"

brilliant little love song, really rocks, totally simple and totally cool

"Born Too Loose" (aka "Born to Lose")

it is positively criminal that this song is not a punk rock anthem on the level of anarchy or sheena is a punk rocker or White Riot. a brilliant song that, truly speaking, u can't get much better than. (seems all our heroes were born to lose huh axl? ;) )

So yeah, what am i tryin to say? brilliant album!!! i urge u with all i have to go check this out and dont be put off by the punk thing cuz all the heartbreakers really were was a stones-influenced rock band. they just happened into the punk movement because Johnny used to be in the new york dolls (whom i pretty much percieve as a straight ahead rock n roll band too). all these songs come off much better on live versions because of the aforementioned bad mixing and also because Johnny and the boys played so hard live. its one of those totemic albums which i think rates up there with rock n rolls best, the songs on it are THAT good :) even amongst guns n roses fans this band arent so well known which is weird cuz Johnny is Duffs fuckin guru (ever notice L.A.M.F on their amps?) not to mention the spaghetti incident tribute that duff did. So Fine was even dedicated to Johnny, sounded like somethin Johnny'd write too, as u'll find by his later output, he was quite the soulful fella. for a brief history of the chequered past of this GREAT album (i throw that word around a lot but this REALLY is) click below

  3. i've been tryin to figure out what this whole emo thing is about but...it doesnt seem to be anything musical, its a lifestyle thing, a certain phase of adolescence accentuated a little. people have told me it has somethin to do with Ian McKaye of Minor Threat/Fugazi fame. it came out of the hardcore scene but....a lot of the offshoots of hardcore and just aimless labelling at the slightest variation of anything.

  4. This is awesome news! I had no idea he was working on another solo project. I love his solo work and Chaos and Creation in the Backyard was a great album.

    I hope this is true.

LMFAo, you would be the kinda hooray for tolerance! that likes Paul Mcartney..lmao.. and you say my opinion is void?HA.. Fuckin Paul Mcartney, the best part of the beatles died when John did, just a fuckin shame that this english hooray for tolerance! didnt go too

Obviously, The Beatles must not be as good as Slipknot then .

Considering you've insulted both The Beatles and Led Zeppelin and defended Slipknot, your opinion is indeed void.

    no opinion is ever void.

paul and john were two sides of the same coin in my opinion. c'mon man, u can't possibly believe that. eleanor rigby, rocky raccoon, hey jude, these are all Paul here.

lmsao, you lost until ya said hey jude, I thought rocky Raccoon was a cartoon? Who comes up with these names? Nah man, I believe it.. John was teh heart and soul of the beatles and paul was along for teh ride. The masses will hold onto anything for sentimental reasons.. so, when you look at Paul, you think of John.. sure, teh music quality fuckin sucks a big green one... but it is what it is.. Paul sucks and thats just that.

but what i meant was you can't nullify his contribution to the beatles because it was fucking huge. seriously man, even john lennon agreed that it was pretty 50/50 between him n paulie. paul was kinda the twee pop end that perfectly balanced out the partnership cuz john was a nut and left up to him things woulda been really out there...really...avant garde. they were necessary to each other within the beatles context. Paul McCartney changed the fucking world (or he was a contributor to a band that changed the world).

  7. Just learn the G barre chord, the A barre chord etc. and play it that way. By the sound of the song, its probably barre chords hes using.

okay cool. i know all the basic barre shapes and those are the ones johnnys playin, i just done know (by heart) which ones they are up n down the fretboard but i can find that out, thanx a lot :)

  8. okay, im like learnin so i go out and buy this book showin ramones chords cuz people tell me even a moron can play ramones stuff and i still cant really play no songs. so i get this book and it tells u how to do the shit but...its wrong. it sounds right when i play it like for example, blitzkrieg bop...the main riff is like G A E. the major chords, the basic ones y'know? and when u play it it sounds pretty much right and it has those things with the lines and the dots representing the strings and where to fret em and ok thats cool but the thing is when i watch the ramones movies, johnny aint playin those chords on Blitzkrieg Bop, he's playin barre chords so wtf's this book talkin bout? and further to that, everywhere i look online shows me a different set of chords for BB. so what the fucks goin on, can someone help???

  9. i think the ramones are the greatest american band of all time. bar none. out of the self indulgent bullshit of the prog rock late 70s came this fucking band who were like....totally reductive to base emotions, like the beatles early output, they invented a sound of their own, johnny ramones downpicking powerhouse guitar playing, Joeys kinda baritone voice, tommy and later marky with that breakneck drumming. they were just total americana from the brando-esque jackets, the name sharing almost ganglike quality they brought to their image. they were regimented, they were just sheer fuckin sonic power...so much audio-muscle. and they just looked the shit, comin outta that whole hippie thing they musta looked like, like legs mcneil said, the fuckin SS, like storm troopers. and they made the fucking catchiest songs!!! its their own bad luck i suppose that they got caught up in that phoney punk rock hysteria and people thought they were just trouble but they truly were the greatest band to come out of america, their influence in infinite, they changed music irreprabably. the fact that they werent like...the fucking beatles is just a crime, it truly is. and the other thing is their output. it was constant with them, ALWAYS were puttin record after record out, total proffesionals in the studio, gettin it done in 2 days, and CONSTANTLY on the road...the ramones were never off the road, i think in total the played 2,600 somethin gigs from 74 til 96 when they called it a day. a valid band, constant puttin out consistent product and playing, after all what do bands do? they play, not like nowadays resting on their fucking laurels and shit. and, if u know anything about the band, theres a deep tragedy resting in the heart of all this brotherhood, i reccomend u watch End Of The Century

  10. i think this is so cool. the bestest of guns fans on here are from Oz and they're like really die hard and this is just a forum, prolly tons more out there and they've had a bum deal all this time. i wish i could fucking i go, for some reason i get the idea that these/those gigs are gonna rock the hardest. nothin like a buncha convicts to tear a motherfucker up!! :):):)

  11. Anyone else here hate Insane Clown Posse, Juggalos and their crappy music?

I do. Post your hate for them here.

i dont mind em, they're actually pretty funny, nothin i could really say i dig tho. Eminem usta rip em back in the day...

  12. hate punk with a passion.

    how comes?

maybe hes afraid of the rebellion :P

actually theres a lot to criticise punk about. for a genre that espouses freedom theres a lotta factions of punk that impose ridgid restriction. its like glenn matlock said "the less things sound like carbon copy punk the more punk they usually are".

  13. I'll play this later when my boss isn't sitting next to me.

Tell me it's not as bad as I'm thinking it will be... Jagged Little Pill was, and is, an amazing album, she should have stuck with what brought her to the dance.

yeah, she's incredible. always good to expand though :)

  14. I would really love to find out what really happened , but chances are , that will never happen , because nobody was there , and Pam died shortly after Jim. Besides , it would seem nobody believes anything anybody says about the case's invesigation.

Well, she died 3 years later. And has told her story several of times. But I'm pretty sure she's hiding something.

@frankwhite - still, heroin can be white, right?

i guess the picture says so but not in my expierience. im more of a coke person in general but i'd like to try heroin just a coupla times, to see what all the fuss is about. good coke generally has like a yellowey hue.

I heard that trying heroin a couple of times will not be any special experience. Your body needs to be more used to it, and by that time, you'll be addicted and huge trouble. Heroin is one drug I'll never touch. It's like one of the worst things you could ever take.

the reason i said a coupla times is cuz my man (who takes it) says u always puke the first time so you gotta do it a couple to "get" it.

Yeah, most people do puke the first couple time's.. it's only a drug i'd do if I had a shit load of money, and nothing.. ya know.. like if I won teh lottery or was a rockstar.. I wouldnt get married, i'd do some albums to make some money, and save it up, and then be like "I wanna take a year off, ya know.. just to relax.. get my head straight.. see teh world.. ya know.. settle down".. then i'd buy alot of fuckin smack and a Dodge Viper, and just fuckin cruise... and at the end of my trip, when my year wa sover.. i'd load up and see if I could top my car out while ODing on heroin..lmao

Otherwise, I wouldnt ever touch it.. it seems like it's just TOO good, know what I mean? Like even though you'd puke, you'd prolly be so relaxed you'd shit yourself and catch a nut at the sametime..lmao.. I've watched people get off on it, and i've sold it here and there... but it just seems like it'd be too hard to let go once you got it...

It also depends on the type of heroin you have on the color.. like blacktar is just that.. blacktar.. and high dollar.. but you have different coloered powder's of heroin when you buy it like that.. so it's easy to get fucke dover... if you're just selling it then whatever's whatever.. know what I mean? What's it hurt you if you'r ejust makin money, little bit of A and little bit of bit B, mixed with the write vowel's will make you think you got teh whole alphabet, til the it all gets in there together.. and if you've ever wtached somebody shoot bad smack, I don't have to explain what happens next... So always buy the good shit.. right Frank?

man of knowledge speakin...u know, u should jump on into that Homemade Highs thread on Anything Goes, it could do with an anchor of sense. i met a guy sellin what he said were tuinols last week but i werent about to take a chance and find out...they're basically smack by another name. never sold smack in my life, dont know enough about it. coke, on the other hand im a fuckin afficianado. u got more chance of gettin stabbed in the throat by a junkie. coke on the other hand if u serve up in the right places u can a) sell em some 50/50 shit and the goofy motherfuckers dont know shit from shinola B) u get a regular kinda middle class clientele c) u get a better class of pussy out of it  not that i'd ever use that  shhh! nah, i never sold coke for long or anything, to be honest i aint got the kinda 100% switched on-ness u gotta have to do that shit. im basically a chilled out, wanna have fun type person and u can't be all loose and shit when ur servin' up. plus i need pocket money, what i dont need tho, is to go to jail.
