  1. AF: Great post! I liked it how you put everything in there... The sad thing is that most people are too proud to respect/listen to other ppl's points of view. This forum is a good example. I mean many posts were really not necessary.

Highvoltage: come on! Is it THAT a big deal that you can't call Slash an original member? I know what you mean and you're kinda right, but Sandman isn't wrong either. :)

The world isn't a circle either. Do you want to go back and change all of the history books or would you rather just accept that the world is close enough to round that the detail that it isn't perfectly round isn't all that important in the big scheme of things? Tracii's biggest contibution to GNR is half of the name.

  2. the GNR site, ticketmaster, and the GEC all still have this show for the 22nd. They really need to let people know if it is being moved. Believe it or not, everyone that has tickets may not read messageboards. I have tickets and Nashville is almost 3 hrs away, if I drive there and it doesn't happen I'll be ticked.

Yeah, it's only 6 days away (and still not officially cancelled). Pretty short notice for cancelling, but better than waiting until you're inside the stadium like other people have had to go through.

  3. What evidence is there that tickets are selling poorly?

After only two weeks on sale Guns N' Roses are #1 on the Pollstar chart above The Who, The Rolling Stones etc.

That only indicates that people are looking them up on the Pollstar website. It has nothing to do with ticket sales. In FL, you can still get great seats and the shows are only ten days away. Not a good sign.

You can still get great seats for most of the concerts. It's quite embarrassing actually. Hopefully they see that lack of promotion or a single or an album is hurting their tour.

  4. No other band has had as many problems touring the US as GNR has basically since 1990. Hopefully everything will get straightened out. If the delay is because of an album release, I can live with it, but if it is due to slow ticket sales, this is pathetic.

  5. if they're moving these dates back and nothing comes of it regarding at least a single or record, then i will be pissed :anger:

but as long as they don't move the oct 27th one... it's getting close though :(

and for the comment above saying MSG wasn't sold out... um... pretty sure there was a press release a couple days ago saying MSG IS SOLD OUT. :P

Yeah, the release was bullshit. You could buy blocks of 8 tickets in the 200 section as recently as yesterday.

  6. Don't know if this is true, but here is an article on the Jacksonville show and they mention Nashville is also going to be rescheduled.

JACKSONVILLE, FL -- Guns N' Roses have moved their Jacksonville, FL show to the 31st of October, Halloween. The show at Veterans Memorial Arena which was originally due to take place on the 20th of October will now be a Halloween celebration with tricks and treats and fans are encouraged to attend the show in their Halloween costume.

Special guests Sebastian Bach and Papa Roach will kick the evening off at 8 and 9 pm, respectively, before Guns N' Roses hits the stage after 10 pm for a festive night. Tickets for the October 29th date will be honored for the new date.

Guns N' Roses North American Tour will now kick off on the 24th of October in Ft.. Lauderdale at the Bank Atlantic Center as the band's Nashville show at Gaylord Entertainment Center scheduled for the 22nd of October will also move to January 2007.

Tickets aren't selling. That is a major problem. MSG isn't sold out either - you can still buy blocks of 8 seats all together on the 200 level.

  7. Just for kicks, I went to the ticketmaster site and selected 8 tickets for best available at MSG and was sent to section 224. I understand there might be a ticket here or there with a sellout, but how can it be sold out if I can easily get 8 tickets together in the middle of the stadium?

  8. you se above what you get with GNR mullethead fans...They come up with their own version of Axl bashing

I love and respect Axl, but he does things to give people reasons to bash him. If he'd handle things differently, perhaps fans wouldn't have as many problems relating to GNR.

  9. they're tighter then Slash n' Izzy were back in their heyday

I do have to mention that this is possibly the single most outrageous thing ever written on this board.

    Ahem:

Robin Finck...(has)...got an on-stage presence that matches the likes of Angus Young.

Sad thing is one could argue that these aren't even the worst comments in this thread, much less the whole board.

  10. I agree with everything you said, cept I feel you were a little harsh on slash, who I think still has it. You did a great job of pointing out reasons ppl should get off their asses and get out to a show. Thanks for gettin the word out

Agreed. This seems to have become like a political campaign. Rather than promote what GnR offers, you choose to degrade Slash instead. This is why I hate politicians.

The first 5 reasons were well delivered whether I agree with them completely or not. They were well thought out and stated your case well.

  11. Robin Finck is the definitive lead guitarist as far as Guns N' Roses is concerned.

How can you say that when he doesn't play all of the leads? He's much better than he was 4 years ago, but he is not THE definitive lead guitarist for Guns N' Roses (though he could be sometime in the future).

  12. this IS guns n roses, this is how they've always been, if u dont like it fuck off n buy somethin from the new age section!

LOL, I think most people have already fucked off, which is why GNR concerts are played to half empty arenas.

I don't think you should be asking any more fans to fuck off, lol.

well fuck em, i'd rather they play school halls than compromise their identity/art. i'll still buy the ticket.

this band is all about compromising there identity :rofl-lol:

My thoughts exactly. They have no identity right now, though that could/should change with an album release.

  13. For one, I am not an Axl nutswinger, He pissed me off at one show I went to, I ranted about it and got it off my chest and then enjoyed the show!

We all get pissed at Axl i'm sure, but look at Kaneda, he posts all this negative shit every single day. To be honest I think he is doing it for attention, because a fan of the band would not bitch this much with all the positive things we have had this year. Just look at the list King Dick made!

Other than the tour, there are a lot of bands that complete that list on a monthly basis, not annually. Sure, things appear to be way better in some ways than what they used to be, but things are hardly peachy either.

Harping on the bad things daily is pointless, but so is trying to pretend that everything is wonderful or bashing the people that think differently than you do. there seem to be a lot of people hanging out at different extremes of where GnR is currently at, but like most times, the truth is somewhere in the middle. It's not all good, it's not all bad. It is what it is and we can either enjoy what we have or move on.

Do I wish the orignal lineup (or some form of it) was still together? Hell Yeah! But it isn't. Let's continue to wait for the album and be critical if it isn't good or praise if it is. Until then, just enjoy the little bit of music that we have.
