  1. no, the REAL fans of Guns N Roses have accepted and embraced this band as Guns N Fucking Roses. This is 2006, not 1992. Get with the times. And quit smoking that crack.

Its the cupcakes such as yourself who spend hours and days on end on forums for bands you no longer fucking like! get a fucking life dude. the only thing that is FUCKING RETARDED is the fact that you are still posting here. quit whining for the stupid fucking old band, it ended a long long long time ago. accept it. get the fuck over it. move the fuck on. grow the fuck up.

You mean move on like Axl has? Don't answer, it's a rhetorical question.

  2. Axl might very well be sick. But there are two issues that will keep a lot of fans / media from believing it...

    1. Axl loves to delay and cancel shows.

    2. Merck lies to fans all the time.

If he really is sick, I feel sorry for him. He'll be mocked again. But as a rule, I never trust a thing that comes out of Merck's gypsy mouth.

Agreed. And nobody is answering this question : why has this show been cancelled instead of being postponed ?

maybe its not feasible. maybe by the time there is another open spot in Milwaukee, Guns will be on the west coast?

don't you losers have anything better to do than make baseless assumptions about things you know absolutely nothing about?

if you dont want to believe the word straight from the horses mouth, you are wasting your time here and i'm sure Axl could care less if you want to go to GnR shows or buy GnR albums in the first place.

That will leave him with 300 fans. I don't think that's his goal.

  3. So, if he's so sick, why was Chicago ok, but Milwaukee not? Answer the question fuckhead, don't go on a senseless rant when you know nothing about me.

Some of you seriously need to calm down.

Strep usually is accompanied by a high fever, so if he does indeed have it, he could make himself far worse by not taking the time off. He would risk dehydration, etc etc. It may have started out as a sore throat, and just got progressively worse. And ear infections aren't a walk in the park; my daughter had one not long ago, and screamed like the end of the world was coming.

OK. So why was Chicago OK, and Milwaukee isn't if he was diagnosed while still in Canada?

  4. This has nothing to do with the release of CD or the fucking around with the fan base through vague release information or vague responses from Merck's side, so 'back off bitch'. That's another topic.

For the cancelled show: If you read the review of last night show in Chicago, it says that Axl had major problems with his voice, sometimes even no voice. So it is kind of logical that the Milwaukee show is cancelled due to illness, when we already had the first signs of ilness yesterday. I do feel sorry for the Milwaukee fans though!

Damn, it feels so good to be smarter then the rest!

What happened to Axls spirit from the UK tour. Down with low blood pressure and exhaustion, doctors tell him to cancel the show and he says "Theres no fuckin' way I'm cancelling this show".

Theres gonna be a lot of pissed people at milwaukee. They should have postponed it to a later date, no?

low blood pressure and exhaustion are different then throath problems. If you have no voice, you can't sing...you stupid fuck.

He managed to sing in Chicago. Why wouldn't they cancel that show too? Maybe because they had more ticket sales?

Fuck you, you fucking retard! A lot of artists cancell shows due to illness, so why can't Axl without being bashed? You're not a fan, you're an ass-fucked-no-good-pussy-bitch-slapped GNR hater.

So, if he's so sick, why was Chicago ok, but Milwaukee not? Answer the question fuckhead, don't go on a senseless rant when you know nothing about me.

  6. There are a thousand guitarists out there with equal talent who could've done what Slash did. The reason no one can find them?

They have no Rose and Stradlin writing their songs.

    Nough said.

Ignorant post. You obviously don't know anything about the successful version of the band. Sorry.

  7. Slash is damn good--but you could've put anyone with equal talent into the band playing the same songs on Appetite with a stereotypical Rock and Roll badass look and they would've been just as successful.

Plus, Axl established himself as an amazing song-writer--November Rain, Don't Cry, Estranged, The Blues. What has Slash done that's comparable to that? I submit that there is nothing.

Well, lets analyze this - the "meat" of your point:

Axl writes interesting lyrics. Musically, he's close to a zero. Basic chords, no interesting or new melodic ideas. Slash took his songs that you say Axl wrote so well to a level where they are top notch, which is why nobody gives a shit about the new music. When GNR toured in 1991 playing the UYI stuff before it came out, people stayed interested. Today, they sit. Enough said.

Your statement about putting anyone with equal talent goes both ways - Axl could have been replaced with anyone as well. If Slash was so easy to replace, why are we stuck with Finck instead of someone equally as talented as Slash? Why did we have to downgrade?

  8. Yes, Axl and his band are boring and so are most of their fans. You just don't know what was GNR, that's why you are so easily amused.

Snakepit was boring. Duff's punk band was boring. Matt's lame-ass bands were boring. Even Izzy's band was boring.

VR is boring. STP was way more innovative!

So, if you agree that all these band are boring, then somewhere along the line the old GnR got boring too.

There is still hope for GnR. CD is GnR's last hope.

Most of what you said is ignorant and incorrect, but even if it was all true, if CD is our last hope, it is over.

  9. Nah, I think that whenever it comes out I'll be far too intrigued by it to not buy a copy. Sure, I know I could download it, but that's hardly the same - I'd want to see the cover, booklet, everything. Curiosity for ya.

As for the "still being a fan" question; I'm not really one now - not in the proper sense - so the "still" doesn't apply to me. Obviously, that would be because the new reincarnation of the band hasn't given me quite enough to judge them by just yet. So basically my "fandom" doesn't really depend on when CD comes out, just what its quality will be like.

I think there is a rule somehwere that after more than 3500 posts on a GNR fan site, you have to be a fan.

Oh, I'm practically obsessed with the old line-up, but really, I don't see how I could call myself a proper fan of the new one  - I'm dead curious about them, sure, but I've only heard a couple of demos or concert-quality songs, some of which I liked, most of which didn't really make an impression upon me, so I have serious reservations about using the word "fan." But that's just me.

Ah, and my post count is mostly due to the non-GNR and old Gunners' sub-forums, if that clears things up.

    Will you marry me?

  10. theres a good reason axl won't play without him.

Because with 2 drummers and 2 keyboardists and 3 guitar players, he can't afford to hire another guitarist until CD is released?

  11. Remember, though, that Robin was playing with Cirque du Soleil when Matt Sorum originally "discovered" him, and was impressed enough by him to bring Axl in to see him.

Amazing that a pair of guys like Matt Sorum and Axl Rose, who could pretty much have their pick of guitarists, found Robin to be so impressive, but a lot of the experts around here seem to think he just started playing guitar this year. :drevil:

Matt didn't "discover" him to be a lead player. He was looking for a rhythm player, which I think Finck could excel at. His weakness is his solos, they pretty much suck.

  12. And it doesn't matter what you think - Guns N' Roses is: Axl, Robin, Ron, Richard, Tommy, Chris and Frank. :fuckyou:

Don't forget about Brain, and Huge, and Izzy, and Bach, and migets, and Trailor Park Boys, and whoever else Axl feels like including on any given day.

  13. What was Axl doing in 2004-2006 without a lead Guitarist? someone brought this up in another thread and I'm just curious here, but from 2004-2006 after Bucket quit, GnR had no lead guitarist. What kind of recording was even taking place during that time? Did Axl just take a 2 year sabbatical?

Why would bumblefoot be hired like a month before touring began?

It's all very strange and doesn't add up.

Then we get news that he delayed the tour to finish up the album and put the finishing touches and that Bumblefoot and Frank were recording songs on the album?!

Can someone explain what is going on here because the chain of logic doesn't quite add up here.

He was nearly done in 2004. It's almost 2007. What happened in between?

Why do you need to know? OH! you don't. maybe that's why. You are told what the band chooses to tell you

and what they don't is their business. Period. OK?

Wow, and I though this was the section to discuss GNR. If all we can talk about is what we know, they may as well close all the forums because none of us, including you, know anything since you can't even believe what GNR says anymore.

  14. I'm just wondering at what point do we finally admit to ourselves that the party is over and it's time to go home.

It'll never really be over. We'll always have the great albums the band has released so far. You don't have to stop being a GNR fan. There are a lot of GNR fans that don't want to hear CD, there are others that want it to come out but don't care that much, and there are others that think (for some reason) that CD defines what is GNR. Anyone that doesn't fall into that last category never has to stop being a GNR fan no matter what does or doesn't happen with CD.

I agree up to a point. I'm sitting here listening to UYI II and wondering if we will ever get a glimpse of Axl's genius again, or will Oh My God be his epitaph. As the cd plays I feel a certain nostalgia but also bitterness and mourning. Of course nothing can erase what the band has done in the past and I will always love the old albums, but I cannot help feeling that there is tremendous untapped potential in the new band that has been denied to us over the past decade and that we will never get the opportunity to see.

Well, look at it this way. If CD doesn't come out next year, we can look forward to another DVD of the original lineup in early 2008. Maybe they'll do the Ritz show or some other great show.

I don't feel a connection with any of the new guys. They have some talent and the energy at the live shows is good, but it isn't the same. I look at it as an entirely different band with the same lead singer, which is really what it is. Whatever they do won't change the way I feel about the old band, whether CD is great or it sucks (or it never comes out).
