  1. Well, that was a nice post.

As long as you're not planning on going to his house and killing him...

Well, CD would finally be released (note that I am not endorsing killing one W. Axl Rose, or anyone else for that matter).

  2. Axl if you are reading this, I just want you to know that I am very proud of you. I think that everybody who accuses you of breaking the original band and the other awful things, are wrong. I understood why the band broke and I understand and give you the reason in make somethings different, those things different that worked a lot!!!!!

You are not alone, I am here for you. I saw you in the Puerto Rico concert and I think the concert was incredible and awesome. God bless you. I know and Puerto Rico knows it was full.

Since I knew GNR I fell in love with it and one of my dream was to go to a concert. Ten years after it became true. My next dream and goal is to know you.

You have all the reason in everything. You are brilliant and the most intelligent man I know.

AND THE ONE WHO WROTE A THEME TITLE AXL IS LIKE MICHAEL JACKSON.........

WELL I GOT TO SAY SOMETHING TO YOU

    FU*******K YOU!!!!

You're right. Axl is nothing like Michael Jackson. Axl beats women instead of molesting kids. I can see how that makes him a much better person. :rofl-lol:

  3. At least they aren't trying to give the tickets away. Yet.

But everything is going great. Don't be negative. Things are wonderful. Couldn't be better. GNR doesn't need any of you negative people. They can make the shows appear to be sell outs by giving tickets away.

  4. Ok just got back and it was GREAT. The set list was perfect. The song choices were by far the best so far. For anyone who says these are just hired hands don't know what the hell they are talking about. This band has chemistry! Axl was full of smiles tonight and seemed to be at ease. His voice was very strong. The only problem that I heard was the music got to be a little louder than him, so sometimes we couldn't hear him very well, but it was taken care quickly, and not a big deal at all. I have to admit, I have been a total Slash supporter before this concert but I think Finck fits the bill even better. He has a passion for playing that Slash unfortunally never had even back in the day. I got to meet Tommy and Fred back stage and they were both wonderful guys. Bumblefoot had a smile on his face the whole time on stage. No one ever looked like there were running out of steam ever! I have to say this concert was better than when I saw the original line up in 91. I hope ticket sales do pick up, because people really don't know what there missing. Axl was in a great mood, NO RANTS TONIGHT!! I just wish he would had talked to us more. All in all other than a few fights while we were waiting, and yes we did wait, GNR didn't start till almost 12:00 but they played untill 2:00 it was a perfect night. Axl did change clothes alot but his style was right on for a rock and roller such as himself. I didn't get there in time to see Bac, but Papa Roach was really good even though there not a fav band of mine. They did a good job and was very fun to watch.

Yawn. Do some homework on energy and passion and get back to us.

  5. I went to the Jacksonville show using a free ticket flyer that was being passed around...they were literally GIVING AWAY tickets to this show. My sister in law does PR for the arena and she told me that the day before the concert (10-30) only 2000 tickets were sold.

:book: Anyone know if this is true? This cannot be good if it is.

  6. Ah, so you did. I noticed that earlier but forgot it. I think my points were better than weak, though. :)

You'll have to forgive my prickly reply, I just tend to get overly defensive over this little pet peeve I have with people who speak on forums knowing they have the protection of these crazy Internets, so they don't have to use any tact, reason, or politeness (is that a word?) in what they say. That's not to say you were rude.

Anyway. The quote was meant to be a joke in line with the "GNR LAW" thing, as was noted after it.

I can be a little too direct at times, but that isn't limited to the internet.

Anyway, your points were stronger than some others that were made, but even you had to admit that some of Kaneda's thoughts weren't that far off from yours. I don't agree with how he says things, but what he says is usually pretty close to accurate once you get through the bullshit.

  7. Can we be considered positive if we believe in Axl but are tired of all the bullshit that's been going on since '02? I can't wait for the album to come out, but excuse after excuse is starting to wear thin. I guess that isn't very positive.

  8. "The people who are offended by this comment are the ones who should be." - Axl Rose

    GNR LAW.

"People that don't have a mind of their own will quote Axl Rose in an effort to sound intelligent" - Urlacher54

Hey, Urlacher54, welcome to the thread! I noticed earlier that you were crying because nobody would answer Kaneda's post point-for-point. Well, I did that, and just for you, buddy. And now, in lieu of having anything useful to say, you insult my intelligence even though - unlike you - I actually did give an intelligent and well-structured, constructive, and non-combative response to this thread's starter!

    Curious!

I acknowledged your earlier post a few posts ago. :book:

This post, however, only seems to have an Axl Rose quote in it. Curious, indeed.

  9. They can do whatever they want and we can say whatever we want. This is a forum, afterall, and you can bet your ass that a lot of posters are gonna be obsessive to the point of insanity. When it all comes down to it, though, we're all here because we are fans of GNR. People can hold their own definitions of what a "true fan" is and all that other bullshit, but that's just getting into detailed nonsense.

I think the camp cares way too much about what is posted on these boards. It's not like anything said here is gonna garner mainstream awareness unless it's pretty fucking huge, in which case, they have a right to put a lid on the shit. All in all, though, both sides need to chill the crap out and attend to more important things.

Great post. Almost all of us are here because we love Axl and are interested in anything that he is doing musically. Who likes which group more or whatever doesn't really matter in the big scheme of things.

I think the reason they care about what goes on on the boards is because this is where the majority of the biggest fans (in other words, the ones that will spread the good news of their success) hang out and they fear too much negativity from their biggest fans will doom them to fail. Why they care after all these years is beyond me, but it is what it is.

  10. You wanted a dissection? Well teknophyle83, rocketking and Matty just pulled you apart. ;)

Where? I must have missed that post. :drevil:

I did see some posts that offered differing views on some of the points (though they were weak), but tek (the only one to address every point) even had to agree with at least one or two of the points despite his efforts not to.

I agree that Kaneda goes overboard sometimes. I do. But he's usually accurate with his thoughts and spells them out instead of just saying "fuck you" or something like that. More and more people are starting to agree with him, or at the very least aren't afraid to say they agree with him after keeping quiet when they agreed with him in the past. There seems to be a very vocal minority here that support the new band no matter what, and they are being overrun by people taking a more realistic stance.

We all want Axl to succeed. That is why we're here. That doesn't mean we have to agree with everything he does or that we can't call him on something when he's wrong. That is the one right we have all earned as fans.

  11. When did a reply in a topic become a reply relevant to everything that's ever been said on the entire board?

He made a mistake and thought the Pollstar shit was something it wasn't. I don't know, I didn't reply to that topic. I replied to this one.

I'm getting sick of the people around here who are out to see how many people they can "get" on nitpicky little points.

Ummm...creating a thread saying that something represents something it doesn't isn't a "nitpicky little point" in any way, shape or form.

What I get sick of are the people that attack the poster because they cannot attack the post. Whatever you may think of Kaneda, he is usually closer to the truth than the vocal minority want to hear, so you blast away at him. Attack his post. Show why he is wrong. If you can't then move on.

  12. Matt13 speaks truth.

Isn't he the one that thinks pollstar is all about ticket sales? And you're saying he speaks the truth? Now you both have lost credibility.

So why aren't you guys attacking the post? Short of a couple weak attempts, I haven't seen anyone address it point by point to say why it is wrong.

  13. If slash is so friggin great, why couldnt he sell out arena's with Velvet Revolver? No response, i didn't think so ..

Well, actually - Velvet Revolver played plenty of sold out dates.

And if they'd toured with the name "Guns N' Roses", they would have sold a lot more tickets.

A Guns N' Roses reunion tour would mean sold out dates in every venue. To suggest that it wouldn't is ridiculous.

I doubt it HV. I'm suggesting they wouldn't sell out a lot of venues... even under a 'reunion' tour banner. There aren't that many acts out there today that can fill any of the venues in America. Aerosmith and Motley Crue combined are doing worse than GNR in ticket sales. In fact, GNR is listed at #3 overall right now for concerts...

I think some people in this thread, and around the board, need to get their panties out of knots. Jacksonville had a lousy turnout because of it being rescheduled. I agree the band shouldn't have taken it out on the crowd by playing a small set list.

    But, shit happens.

That isn't ticket sales (unless they've recently changed their way of doing business). Nice try though.

  14. If they owe us nothing, then we owe them nothing. No loyalty, no defense of the new lineup, nothing. If it wasn't for the vocal minority defending the new band, imagine where they'd be? I'd say they owe more than they can ever repay.
