  1. Friday night's show may now be my favorite Guns N Roses show of all time. The band was epic that night. So much energy and you could tell Axl was in a really good mood. For the life of me, I don't get why people fuss about how he sounds. He sounded like he was 28. And the sound in the place was really, really good. Perfect size venue for a loud rock show. But why is it my new favorite show of all time? Besides the band sounding epic, something completely random happened before I went in. Me and my brother met these two blonde's and we invited them to the show since we had extra tickets. I asked one girl which song she wanted to here and she said, "I hope the play IRS"...

Ok, let's stop for a minute. What girl (A.) even knows Chinese Democracy songs, and (B.) wants to hear IRS. So I'm like this can't be true. Turns out she was the biggest GNR fan and her sister, while not into Chinese D so much, knew every old GNR song word for word.

Who you go to a show with can make or break your experience. We can all relate to that. The crowd at most GNR shows now can be kind of lame. Lots of standing around staring at the band and most people at the hard rock were sitting down. Who sits down during a Guns N Roses show? But I'm not one of those people. We were in General Admission, which is always a good time because you can move to the music. So there we are, with two girls who are belting out every song word for word. When this girl started singing Better, I was like, this can't be real. I couldn't even get my ex to listen to old GNR, let alone Better. And what was awesome is we had a great group up people around us that were really into the show. Now when I looked out into the crowd, I saw the same old apathetic looks from so many people. But that's fine, to each their own. But for almost 3 hours we sang, danced, and belted out GNR's greatest hits and it was fucking magical. Part of me senses this could be the last time we Guns play for a

Saturday night I brought two brunettes, but they didn't know Better...so not nearly as much fun. A couple pics for you guys...

Leaving Las Vegas...no sleep for 3 days, but worth it...

For the life of me, I don't get why people fuss about how he sounds.

Because they can't go to the shows, and they are just haters; I really believe that.

nope. it's because his voice sounds really bad.

"Wow, he had energy, band was great, he sounded good on the mix, but it was ruined for me when I got home and saw what he sounded like on YouTube."

    -said by nobody ever.

  3. Besides Bumble leaving, I wonder what the other changes will be. DJ, Fortus, Dizzy, Chris and Frank don't look like they're leaving any time soon. Wonder if Tommy will be swapped out for Duff? More from Izzy (songs, live appearances)? A DJ-led album?

Regarding the show, this photo from HTGTH shows some stage production:

I must confess that when Axl hired the drummer from Primus, the NIN guitar player, Buckethead, the Replacements bassist, a keyboardist who worked for Tool, etc... to play in his band, the last thing I expected was to see this guy in his 50s hiding his fat body and face, between a pole dancer and a sparkly skull with they sayings "Rock n' Roll" in it, in Las Vegas. Axl is a joke, can't help but laugh.

I must confess that Axl Rose while at times has been pudgy, but you continuing to call this guy in the pic who cant be more than what 155-160 fat is just a symptom of you delusion. I don't know what you look like, but I am willing to bet you are "fatter" than he is. A fat neck from bad plastic surgery does not make a guy fat dude, I get it, you are upset you could not go to Vegas, but I saw him last year twice, and he was heavier than this and he was not 170 even. He is a little dude with skinny arms and big legs.

You wish you were that fat.

  4. alls i knows is you could hear the razorblade-shrapnel-damage of his voice at the Lennon tribute when he sang with Springsteen in '94, it was like he was in pain. And probably the fact that he stopped singing after the '93 tour didn't help. I imagine he blew out his voice from '91 - '93 and the fact that he just all of a sudden stopped singing (or so it seems) for ages made it worse. if he'd kind of slowly come down from that tour and done some vocal exercises and worked it more i imagine he may have been able to save himself from as much damage, but who knows. it seems like he was straining himself every night and when he finally stopped his voice just deteriorated over night.

It is like a high performance engine ER. He runs his voice close to tolerance, always has, so it is harder to keep healthy. James Taylor can sing forever cause he runs his voice like a Honda Accord. (I love him BTW). Just the way it is. Axl has always been on "11" so, you get what you have here."

  5. "quite good!"

    :wow:

It would be good, if he has any power in voice (2002 etc), but recently it's sounds so weak it's really hurts.

Dude, when you at the shows , it sounds fine. He is way past him prime vocally, but the energy he puts out, along with the band, more than makes up for it if you are there. I don't know how many threads there are going to be about how shitty his voice sounds when reproduced, but when you are there, the mix works. Get the fuck over it already. Anyone who goes to a show and says he sounds horrible is just hyperbole, sometimes he misses a note, or goes Mickey, but Jesus Christ, what the hell you you want.

I love it when people complain he cant sing like he did 12 years ago. Really? Is that right? Inconceivable!

  6. Axl shouldn't be singing you could be mine at all anymore. If he had any integrity at all he would play a show consisting 85 percent new material. he physically cant sing those old songs anymore and its sad to watch and listen to him try. If he wants to play mostly material from AFD and UYI then why not get the members who actually wrote those songs(and can actually play them properly lol) Hes been milking the Guns N Roses name since 2001, its now 2014 and we have 1 album and the same set list (of mostly all OLD material) for the past 11 years...

I got an idea, why don't you try not telling a grown man what to do with his life, and you not listen to Axl sing it anymore? Why don't you correct your behavior and not his?

That's the problem with you fuckin' people, you never look at yourself. I am dead serious too.

  7. I think the key here is that Axl is going to make sure to keep his promises (dates) and honor he promise to play music on said dates. He is that kind of guy now. Hate to say it for all you whiny kids, but Axl has one of the most dependable bands in the business. He may show up a little late, but overall he is pretty consistent. Good for him and Duff. If this is true, there are no negatives about this. Just some guys keeping their word to the fans. That is what Axl does, and that is why he never promises new music, you monkeys just make that BS up,

  8. Bumble is the only 1 associated with this group that has even a slight bit of integrity, so I wouldn't be surprised if he is counting down the days until he can get the hell away from them.

What kind of "band" can you really be when you don't release music and don't create anything together?

You have no idea what they create, and just because they don't create music does not mean they aren't a band. I would think your definition is skewed, but then, you have always whined cause you can't have it your way. So go ahead and move the goalposts to suit yourself.

  9. As much as I hate to say it, because I'd love to hear new material, Axl's done. He can't sing anymore, he's nothing without the rasp.

Thank you Axl for destroying the one thing that got me into GN'R.

By aging? So, let me get this straight, he destroyed his voice by growing older? I guess that is his fault he cant halt time space and dimension. Good point.

well guys, i just got home, it started 23.34 pm and finished 02.10 pm. when you're there, at the live setting, it's pretty amazing. axl sounded fine, yup, no rasp at all, but sounded fine with the clean voice. there were raspy parts for sure like Better, Welcome to the Jungle and other songs. it was amazing, Axl was on awesome mood, joking around and smiling =) had a great time. Civil War was played by "request" =)

WTF is wrong with you? Don't you realize if you were there you had a bad time cause Axl sounds like shit, and he only has a job for money? The only people who can judge him are the ones who look at set lists and watch youtube phone clips.

You went to the show, your opinion does not count dude.

  10. Bottom line is, one album in 21 years...

Even Axls worshippers cannot defend that

Defend what? Are we the ones who decide what others do for their livelihood? He has been touring for 20 years. I would love new music, but i am not him, and he can do whatever the fuck he wants, and if I don't like it, tough. Defend a guy because he doesn't do what YOU think he should do? I don't even know that that means?

i don't think anyone literally believes they have a right, as a fan, to dictate axl's actions. you're being hyperbolic. it's certainly understandable for a fan of a musician to expect more than one record in two decades, especially when the musician in question promised multiple albums' worth of material as far back as the late 1990s. it's not like axl disappeared and fans got angry because he decided to quietly retire. the guy kept the band name and justified his actions by repeatedly stating that he planned to move the band forward and release multiple new records. my point being, of course axl doesn't literally owe anyone anything, but it's not unreasonable for a fan of his to be disappointed and to have expected more.

No, they absolutely do. I am not using hyperbole. Disappointment is one thing, but criticizing a mans character, accusing him of stealing, not caring about his fans, etc is a joke. I used to love to come here, but it is just to cunty now. If you wanna say he doesnt sound good then be at the show, and then just say it, but don't watch a phone clip and say the show sucks.

The guy was a beast for like six years when the band started. So energetic, so captivating, so confident..... Then... The band fell apart but he continued on. Then 2002 - jerseys, braids, the voice, buckethead, robin, the industrial sound... Then a cancelled tour and no album. Then a new tour that was actually kind of cool in 2006 and everything seemed set to go.... Then nothing... Then an album out of nowhere and Axl is MIA... Then nothing... Then the greatest hits tour which keeps on rolling. Man, it's so interesting to me. He sort of asks for the crap he gets given the past twenty years and especially considering what came before it.

The guys life is just so fucking weird and his crazy actions turned from crazy good (and bad) to just crazy bad around 2007 so that's why he gets so much crap from his biggest supporters.

He gets crap cause people think they are entitled to thing in this country, including their music. If you dont goto a show, how the fuck can you spend half a thread ranting about it?

  11. good ol' gunzen. missed you.

Sometimes it just kills me, it is so hard to understand why somebody thinks that attending an awards ceremony is somehow their business. Especially since they weren't there. I just do not understand the logic of people expecting complete strangers to run their careers according to how the fans expect him to.

Where does that come from? Well i know, and i have explained it before. Too bored to do it again. I wasn't the next guy that complains Axl hasn't released any new music to tell me his job, and then I am going to tell him how to do it, cause its what i want.

  13. Why? Because it's deserved.

See the thread about short-changing fans who bought VIP packages. See the promises of new material, only for that NOT to happen. See Axl's response to GNR's induction to the R&R HOF. See the last four years of stale set lists. See the botched DVD release. See the $150 ticket prices at some of the small venue shows just so Axl doesn't have to cut his guarantee (or cut it by as much as he should).

I don't ever remember Axl promising anything live. And BTW, not going to the Hall of Fame is about as Rock and Roll as you can get. WTF is wrong with you? Were you at the Hall of Fame ceremony? Did you pay for it? Or any of these shows? Were you there? Have you ever been forced to pay for anything from GNR?

    Entitlement society lives on! Dope.

If you don't want to pay, don't go, what the fuck is it to you. Some people pay 100k for a baseball card. It is what it it worth to you. I like how you think you should decide what a GNR show is worth to someone else. That is fucking hilarious. Do people call you at home and ask you what they should pay when looking for a car, or seeing a movie?

Please tell us more of what we think, thanks . ;) .
