  1. Horrible like any PC since 2011, with Axl moving less and less and struggling more and more.

You mean, almost like he is an aging singer, who cant move around as well as he did when he was 20-ish? How dare he. I got an idea for you, and that man faced chick in the avatar, get over it. He is just making money. This is his job. Anyone who thinks Axl has not given enough is just a dope.

You guys kill me. Complaining about free shit. STFU and go find a younger band.

  2. I can understand how the chidem after effects bummed him out but if he's still down about it after 6 years that's scary. Move on and put new songs out.

    Maybe you should move on?

other countries love GNR cause they see it for what it is, a Rock band, not a tool to make themselves feel better.

They see it for what it is: a fucking joke.

What is a joke is grown ass men (supposedly) complaining about a 50 year old guys show halfway around the world that you did not even attend, now THAT is a joke.

So we're not allowed to have an opinion because we didn't go the show? Because we don't agree with what most of the rest of the world thinks of the Axl Rose Experience?

Believe what you want, but this isn't Guns N' Roses and no new music means a joke of a show and "band." The minute we get a new album and IF the songs are good, I'll change my tune, but since that is highly improbable, I'll keep bashing this circus as it rightfully deserves.

I don't think whining and complaining that he is not playing what you want when you aren't there is a valid complaint. How can you complain about something you did not pay for? You can say he sounds like shit, just keep it in context, i.e. first show, his age etc, but you guys are basically complaining about a movie you didn't go to. It is fucking stupid. makes no sense to me.

I watch Shawshank Redemption cause it is a great film, but i dont expect it to have the ending change to adjust to my needs. I take it for what it is. You should just take Axl for what he is, or move on. But incessantly bitching is ridiculous to me.

  3. I don't understand why you judge a man by his first tour date. MLB players take weeks to get their game form. Axl just needs a few shows to get his wind and his legs. My fucking God I can't believe the amount of whining. It is Spring training for Axl, he will get in shape, he is fucking 50. OMFG you guys are killing me with your sandy vagina's.

  4. These are all excuses. Sure, the failure of the album probably bummed him out to a massive degree, but other artists have had failures and they went on to create more music and release it. They don't let themselves be turned into a joke. Axl has done this all to himself. I have no pity for what has become of him and the once unstoppable GN'R. I wanted Axl to succeed back in 2001/2002 but that was then and the times have changed. You can't keep the charade up forever. He doesn't care about his fans so I won't care about him.

2-3 new songs my ass. 'New' to me isn't stupid covers and guitar solos. New means fresh, original songs that have never been played before, and I'm not talking about any UYI songs that have never been played live.

Yeah, cause he obviously needs your pity. See post #56. Does your vagina hurt?

  5. He cares about making money and maintaining his lavish lifestyle. He can always record music he enjoys making without ever releasing it. Axl acts like a king that is totally living in his own little world and it's own little helpers. It's adorable. The delusions are a part of the charm and what made Gn'R cool imo. But he forgot how to release albums a long time ago.

He cares about making money and maintaining his lavish lifestyle

And that is exactly what everyone in the world does. People live their lives for themselves. Even people who do charity do it for themselves. They do what they want. Anyone who rips Axl for making money is a complete hypocrite. By the way, he is doing what he wants, not for the max money, or he would reunite with the old band.

It is embarrassing that fans criticize a 50 year old guy for reaping the rewards of his hard work.

But that is the US, you all feel entitled, and feel like others owe you. Its the way of the US, other countries love GNR cause they see it for what it is, a Rock band, not a tool to make themselves feel better.

Your guys are a bunch of fucking pussies.

  6. "obviously is thinner" :rofl-lol:

Dude, he is thinner. i realize you want him to be fat so you can feel better about yourself, but the dude is definitely thinner.

Am I unhappy in my life?

Dude, i don't know you, i just don't understand why anyone would call a 51 year old guy in good shape fat, or even imply he isn't thinner than he was. It just fucking weird. His face is bloated, and may always be, cause a hooray for tolerance!h is 51, but damn dude, he looks thinner to me.

  7. So, okay, the people last time he kicked off a tour said he didn't care enough about his fans to stay in shape, and he was a fat pig etc. So this year, he obviously is thinner than he was at the end of his last tour, but that is not enough for you guys cause he isn't playing new music, which he never said he would.

This site should be called MYBITCHFEST.com.

I would like to have heard he played something new too, but you cant give the dude a break.

    *YAWN*

We've been giving him a break for over a decade.

For what? What has he done wrong? Does he not show up? Does he play short shows? I still don't know what exactly he does wrong? I am dead serious. Dude just plays music.

  9. 1. I had never heard the term "cash grab" before this site.

    2. I had also never heard of texting the shows songs to someone, who then relayed it via site. (before smartphones)

    3. I have also never heard anyone say " _____ owes us!" in regards to a musician. That one was fucking weird, and it just became this sites anthem.

    4. "nutswinger" for people who were fans of Axl, and didn't feel like no 3.

    5. NuGNR

    6. "Axl doesn't care about his fans. Heh, what the fuck is that?

    7. calling a 50 year old guy with a 34 inch waist who plays 3 hours shows a fat ass who is out of shape.

When you think about it, NuGNR and that fat out of shape asshole sure have generated a lot of emotions even though Axl doesn't give a shit about his fans or nutswingers and only wants to cash grab even though he really owes us more.

  10. one (Kurt again) showed with his few albums a lot more in the way of talent than the other.

That is some bullshit right there.

Sorry but one of em can only sing (albeit exceptionally), the other is lauded for some of the best songwriting to come out of popular music, some pretty different guitar playing of the sort that you've not really heard in the mainstream since and in his own way a strange impassioned voice that spoke to millions of millions of people. Axl doesn't really have anything but a very good voice to his credit.

You've completely overlooked Axl's songwriting abilities. And as a musician Axl is far more gifted on the piano than Kurt is on the guitar. Any tryhard who's played guitar for six months could master Kurts fairly rudimentary guitar playing on Nevermind.

I don't think Axls songwriting abilities are particularly that good. OK, bit of an injustice there, they are good but not brilliant like Kurts. Also, talent on an instrument by a musician in a rock band context is kind of more to do with the songs they produce and not how many different chords they can play. It's about the songs he wrote with it, not whether he could play like Joe Satriani. Axl can write good songs but not great ones, thats why he never releases them and tinkers with them endlessly, cuz even he knows they don't cut it…so he ends up over-elaborating on an idea to make up for or cover up for the fact that it weren't that good in the first place.

Please stop , Kurt Cobain was no Mozart and his guitar playing was average at best.. Nirvana was one of the most overrated bands in rock IMHO.......

+ This. I am always amazed ar the posthumous credit given to Kobain. He was part of a new music wave (and not the best part, AIC and P-Jam were much better) and Kurt is some sort of incredible writer is just bullshit. How often do you hear Nirvana on the radio, or anywhere for that matter. they had one HUGE song, and the rest were popular but nothing like the catalog of GNR.

Kurt is to Axl as Lennon is to McCartney. If you look closer, you will see McCartney wrote much more of the better beatles songs, and also post beatles songs, Let it Be and Yesterday (The most covered song of all time), but Lennon pulled some sophomoric revolution BS just like Kobain. Axlls work is more like McCartney, melodic, epic, orchestral, and Lennons is like Kobains, sanctimonious, pretentious and insufferably depressing.

    Not even close.

  11. That is a pointless OP because that is back when there were no digital downloads, and people actually bought albums. Now they just steal, stream, and or buy individual songs. Popularity is more based on fan attendance, and I am pretty sure they draw better in other countries for the reason I have stated before. The United States is filled with a bunch of self entitled people who will take their ball and go home if they can't have it their way.

What gets lost in all of these discussions is the music and shows. There is so much sniping and editorializing on things that happened 20 years ago, that people in the US forget that if you get value for your money, just go, if not, go somewhere else. Here, people would rather log on hundreds (or thousands of times) to bitch about something they cannot have. I just don't see people in other countries doing this. They are not spoiled and are just happy to have music and a show.

I don't think I will ever fully understand why people come on a forum and post about things they have no control over or that happened over 20 years ago hundreds of times. It is weird. Things change in every facet of life, but for some reason the people on this board seem to think Axl is not allowed to because they didn't want him to.

I don't know how many of you have the same job, and work with the same people for the last twenty years, but apparently, that is what Axl was supposed to do. No exceptions.

Other countries care less about TMZ and drama, and more about music. I am from the US, and this is one spoiled ass, entitlement attitude places to be.

  12. No wonder they don't talk much, you guys act like fucking kids every time. The dude was justt trying to reach out and say a few words to the fans who appreciate the band. If you just look at it like that, and instead of BBF being a terrorist negotiator, there really is no reason to ask about guys who have not been in the band for 20 years, or to be a dick.

Just say hi, ask him a few questions and let it go. Trying to be that blond haired douche from TMZ was not the right play.

The guy is just making a living, not trying to make you feel good about yourself.

    Man, this country is spoiled.

  13. Because it's a kick ass time, singing along is fun, and Axl's a hell of a showman. I haven't been to a show yet I wouldn't describe as fuckin epic and awesome.

This, plus, as a fan of music, and a mature adult, I don't feel entitled to anything, I feel I have the right to consume the goods and services I purchase. And of the 7-8 times I have seen GNR since 2006, he has delivered almost three hours or even more every damn time. Good product, good price.

  14. No offense Randy, but you could not have written that music, composed anything, you probably can't read music, or are in a band, so instead of starting a thread about a 5 year old CD ( the CD you PMED me about personally, and said was amazing and was gonna be huge) in hindsight, maybe you should just shut the fuck up, cause I doubt you could compose a peanut butter and jelly sandwhich.

Seriously, seems so easy to nitpick, when most of you guys can't do shit, and will never accomplish anything in your lives as successfully as he does. So Axl writes a solid, if not great CD, and you guys wanna pick on a track overlay like that would have changed anything? Get the fuck over yourself.

Hey Randy, why don't you start a thread about how much cooler you could make Pavoratti sing? What is the Beetoven site too busy? You gotta slum it here?

    Dope.

There is definitely a problem with the scope of the material, as in the songs that probably sound great in a simple stripped down mode have been layered up to fit in with some of the other more complex stuff. The Blues would have been too ordinary to sit next to Shackler's and Scraped.

Yeah, man too bad you aren't talented or famous, or you could have saved the CD.

Just let it fucking go man, how long has it been since the CD came out?

  15. I'd say motivation and love (or lack of) for music are the critical reasons, not age.

Imagine having 50 million dollars in the bank. Sort of hard to get motivated to go to "work"......... which makes you wonder just how much does Axl enjoy the music business. WIth that much money, we could all just do whatever we wanted. We'd take what we enjoy most - and just do those things.

If you love singing and writing songs, having 50 million dollars in the bank would enable you to do just that - write, record and play music. The fact that Axl doesn't seem that interested in doing those things makes you wonder how much he really enjoys or loves music, and that he might just see being a singer as being a job.

If he loved writing and recording music, and had the financial means to where he didn't have to work, you'd think he release music all the time. I love to write. If I won the powerball for 200 million dollars, I'm quiting my job tomorrow, and I'll spend a couple hours a day just writing books for fun. If I had Axl's writing and singing abilities, and had an unlimited bank account, I'd be putting out music every year. Just to share it with whomever wanted to listen.

So no - I don't think age is an excuse.

Motivation, lack of desire, no love for the industry.....those apparently are.

You have absolutely no idea what motivates Axl. He is a grown man, who you have never met. To try to conflate the fact that he does not release music with him not caring is purely conjecture, and a waste of time. Maybe he has a thyroid issue? Maybe he is genetically predisposed to gain weight in the gut.

He is most likely in as good of shape as any average 50 year old man. You people that throw a blanket over everyone's health and appearance need to take a health and nutrition class. You have no fucking idea what the hell you are talking about. What a feckless thread.

Not everyone gives a flying fuck about their appearance. He isn't a pig, he is most likely just comfortable in his own skin, even if you arent. Good for him.

  16. The funny part about this thread is I started it about DJ gets in trouble in Vegas about the helicopter thing, and said "Sorry if repost" So Manets responded by saying "Bring back Robin." replying to the original question. Then someone said it was a repost. So i was going to just leave it, but based on Manets response, I figured I would just change the title as a joke. Making it look like Manets favored Robin over Slash. Being the first to respond can be dangerous.

    I was just kidding. :nervous:
