  1. She has been doing it as well as other GNR songs for years.

.......Oh, and she looks and sounds more winded that Axl does., and She didn't just do a three hour show, and is half his age. :rofl-lol: I have always though her covers of GNR were good, but to all you people who criticize Axl, her voice went off pitch a few times and she cut her runs shorter than Axl does.

  2. a sense of entitlement is really just being ambitious. Baby boomers don't know that because they had everything given to them. It's only a sense of entitlement when you don't get your pension. After bankrupting the world and selling out every 60s ideal to make a killing in the 80s and get divorced in the 90s spending the college fund on a new wife and a ferrari, ruining the property market so no one can buy anything ever again, they then refused to retire and blocked anyone else coming up in the company, to finally take a full pension and now live in a 300k a day oxygen tent prolonging their life into their 100s, oh sorry wrong meeting! see you at the docks at 4am. you know you have a sense of entitlement when you're getting fucked.

Funny, but not true. College funds were not the rage in any generation. Make your own mark, and stop asking others to do shit for you. You are not entitled to protest big business and corporations while watching the Big Lebowski on your iPad. Just cause your parents turned out to be right is no reason to hate them.

    Your move.

  3. wanting Chinese II > demanding it

Nothing wrong with wanting it Randy, it is thinking you should get it at the expense of others that is so damn silly. Try not to conflate the two, it is really that simple. Fan is short for fanatic. Nothing wrong with being crazy and wanting as much as you can get from this band. But thinking Axl rose should change his life at YOUR whim is the part I take issue to. especially since I am pretty sure you do not let large groups of Internet strangers tell you how to live your life.

I want it to man, it is why I still check in here.

  4. Great post from ER!!! Gunzen should just leave this forum. I don't understand why the die-hard Axl fans simply don't leave and start posting at /Jarmo's place where Axl is treated like a God. This place is for sane people, not lunatics.

Seriously, the "axl dont owe you anything" excuse should result in instant ban. Can't stand this

Gunzen has every right to post here and express his opinion. If he is truly 100% content with the state of the band right now, that's great for him and I'm envious. However, he just shouldn't expect all fans to feel the same way that he does, and shouldn't be quite so hostile towards those who share differing viewpoints.

Also, a friendly reminder to everyone to keep it civil. You'll notice i probably just wrote one of the most negative breakdowns of the state of GN'R so I'm hardly saying people have to be praising the group to continue posting here. However, as per the rules, name-calling, insults, thoughtless attacks against Axl/the band will be removed and result in removal of posting rights in this section. So keep it constructive. :)

As a rule I don't tell others how to live their lives, and don't waste time with things I don't like. I am not a victim, and you sir sound like a jilted lover. I would love Axl to do more, but I am a realist and don't blame others expect others to provide me with happiness.

It's a free country ER stop telling other people know to live their lives. He is a musician, not your kid. It is embarrassing to read you whine like this. Really it is. He is a 51 year old man who lives in Malibu, WTF is it to you?

I don't need you saying I have a right to my opinion. You are the boss of nobody, including me and an agin 51 year old rock star in the twilight of his career. It is so dopey reading your long winded dissertation about something you have no utility in, or ant proprietorship to.

I don't need your permission or approval to post. Get the fuck over yourself, really.

This is made up horseshit, and complete speculation, I have about 10 friends who bough CD and none of them have an account here. I don't know where you got that data from?

You have GOT to be kidding me? Who exactly forced you? Do you know the definition of forced? How were you forced, and what weapons were involved? Or was it blackmail? Threatened loss of job? How did mean old uncle Axl force you?

All Ax has to do is live his life like you guys think he should, and not do what he wants, and that's all this forum needs. Easy Peasy Lemon Squeezy!

People only bitch because of behaviour like this from the people running the band, who somehow perceive us as ungrateful twerps, it seems. I really don't get it.

People bitch because it is a sign f the times , especially in the US, they feel they are entitled to things. Anyone who bitches cause a grown man they will never meet, doesn't do what they want, even though they aren't paying him to do it, are just spoiled.

Go to a show, if Axl doesn't give what he promises to give at the show, then there is your beef, but stop there. Cause the rest is entitlement BS.

This because you don't know them, and until they decide to make it your business, it is none of yours.Your post was the most pathetic, victimized, a poor widdow baby post I have seen in a while. Until you start giving your life over to strangers, I suggest you save your crying.

Lowest common denominator. Music, sports, and etc. are businesses. And even though our current administration in the US thinks we should not own and run our own affairs, doesn't mean Axl, and any other owner can't. Get your liberal "You owe me" attitude away from our own liberties.

You aren't Axl, you have ALL the power to consume what you want. If you don't like it, don't purchase or support. That is where your power ends.

Big baby. You should lose your man card for that post.

Not out to bash "Team Brazil," but I do think having them at the helm of the band is bad. Maybe not for Axl -- it's probably great for him: he has family to trust, he doesn't have to worry about a manager subversively attempting to reunite him with old bandmembers for a big paycheck. He gets to coast by and tour endlessly and do what he's ostensibly wanted to do for years, which is kind of rest on his laurels a bit, and they're not putting any pressure on him to do otherwise. They're pretty much the first manager he's had, I'd wager, who don't force him to do anything he doesn't want to do.

... Which is the problem for the rest of us, the fans, and why TB ain't the best choice of managers for someone who can be notoriously indecisive and didn't release an album in a decade and a half. They're going to just enable his behaviour. And I'm sure if he read this he'd get that "I don't owe the fans anything" mentality, and that's all well and good, but then don't be surprised when the fans stop showing up to the gigs. Sadly, he'll probably always be able to somewhat coast by on the GN'R brand name -- there are always going to be casual rock fans who show up to concerts to hear the big hits -- but I think that's where he mistakes the "fans" for the casual listeners, and in the process really kind of slaps the fanbase who stuck by him for years and years in the face. There's always been this kind of animosity towards "us" (collectively, as in, all online fans), and even in 2006 he had a few mini rants about the online communities. I remember him bitching at a gig in Ireland, I think, about how he couldn't give a shit about people online complaining about identical setlists, because he's "performing for the people who come to the shows" -- as if it never occurred to him that plenty of fans on the forums DO pay to go see gigs (multiple times), but, due to monetary issues and geographical issues, aren't able to fly around the world and go see every single gig. If -- as was the case -- some fans online paid to see multiple shows and got the same setlists and had a criticism about that fact, then it's not just "haters whining on the internet" who don't go to shows -- it's a valid fucking criticism and something that most bands would take into consideration. It also didn't occur to him, I guess, that probably 90% of his audiences on any given night were just casual music fans paying to see the hits played -- the sort of casual music fans who didn't rush out and buy his new album when we did.

The Internet fans were the only ones who really held out hope and had a vested interest in ChiDem when others mocked and ridiculed it. We were forced to congregate here online to discuss it and the band for years because there was silence, canceled tours, etc. The average, casual rock fan wasn't just disinterested in 'NuGNR' -- they were ignorant of the band's activity because of how difficult it was to even follow them for so long. I can't tell you how many times over the years I wasn't even able to hold a conversation with another music fan IRL about GN'R because they had literally no knowledge of the band post-breakup. Being a fan of this band has been challenging. I just feel like sometimes -- hell, very often, actually -- the online fanbase is derided as whiners and complainers and perceived as an enemy when, in fact, even just an appearance on a fucking talk show from Axl had people happy for weeks. It really doesn't take much to appease people on the forums. People only bitch because of behaviour like this from the people running the band, who somehow perceive us as ungrateful twerps, it seems. I really don't get it.

After this update, I have very little, if any, dwindling hope left for new material of any kind. I don't see pressure from the label - Geffen/Universal probably has already written off all older Chi Dem sessions by now and wouldn't be badgering Axl about a follow-up given the lackluster sales of that album - and I don't see much interest from anyone in the band except Bumblefoot and, to some extent, Ashba, who I think is only truly interested in writing new music because it'd help further publicize his name. Which I can't fault him for - at least he wants to do new music.

You mean get paid for his work and art he created? I suppose 3 hour shows with music Axl created/collaboated/owns is "coasting"? What do you do for a living, and do you call yourself coasting when you get paid for the supply that is demanded? I have absolutely no idea what you mean by coasting? He gets money for his work, which is what we all do. i am sorry he does not have to work as hard as some others do, but that is not a bad thing, and something we all strive for, no?

Which is the problem for the rest of us, the fans,

Speak for yourself, there are plenty of us that realize that 50+ year old guys are allowed to slow down, and enjoy the benefits of their life's work, and do not feel the need to be at the mercy of career advice of people half their age with no experience in their field of endeavor.

    Quote

    just enable his behaviour.

Semi retired, and being the boss of his own business? How dare he nt do what you think he should do with his life. After all, you often leave your career decisions to millions of strangers don't you?

but then don't be surprised when the fans stop showing up to the gigs

I have never hear Axl ay his, or even hint that he expects people to continue to show up in the numbers they did when he was younger, in his prime, and in the spotlight. I highly doubt Axl sits at home and says "Damn, I have released one CD in 15 years, I am surprisd I am not packing stadiums."

    Quote

Sadly, he'll probably always be able to somewhat coast by on the GN'R brand nam

How is it sad that he can rely on a name he owns with his actual surname in the title, that he created before Slash etc were there? I'm sorry, what is the statute of limitations on gaining income on your product you created?

How dare he defend himself against a group whney fans who complain about shows they don't go to. I guess you could also complain about movies you don't see, etc. Makes about as much sense. i have no idea why people I\who don't have to pay for something and don't attend complain. Never understood that. Kin of like complaining about the food in a restaurant you don't eat at.

  7. It is the society we live in here. Why do you think GNR is so popular in other countries? Cause they are not filled with self serving entitlement minded people like we have in this country. We think we are entitled to things here. Everyone is a victim in this country, and everyone needs their "fair share" here. So we get what have here.

The US youth is a group of whiny sniveling cunts waiting to be fed and taken care of. They are owed healthcare, they are owed welfare, they are owed what they want. This is just an extension of that. They don't appreciate what Axl has done, they only want what they want from him.

The haters here don't care what AXL wants, only what he can give them, and they want it their way.

  8. It will most likely happen. Eventually Axl is going to need that reunion money to maintain the lifestyle he has grown accustomed to.

Some day you will realize that life is not all about money. My guess is Axl never will reunite, and I hope he doesn't. Dude, when you get to a certain age, your beliefs and self actualization become more important.

Never happen, and the fact that you continue to start threads about the same thing over and over again is silly. My God Randy, get the fuck over it.

  9. So if a man decides to quit his job while he is still making money and entertaining fans that somehow means we should respect him more or less? I don't get it, should you quit your job so you can be respected more or less?

Stupid ass post, and eckless thread. It is his job you dope, if anything you should repect people who work and employ others I soppose.

Axl was given 14 million dollars and as much time as he wanted to re-create Guns N' Roses. Look at what he's done with it. It's no wonder he's scared to try again.

So, what the fuck is it to you? You pissed cause you didn't t gett 14 million? I don't envy others, so I have no idea why you would be critical of what someone else does with their time and money? Has nothing to do with you. Free country.

If they are honestly so concerned with writing and recording, why don't they go and do just that... minus Axl, of course.

They do that in other projects. How ignorant are you?

    Ignorant as far as what?

It is a free country, and the other members have other projects, but nobody givs a damn, which is why they work for Axl, who people do give a damn about.

  10. I can't think of the last time ANY CD had a buzz? In the day and age of downloading songs, individually as well as complete, who the fuck waits for a CD release anymore? People dont line up at record stores anymore. BBA's posts give me cancer. He is so sour it is hilarious. I get his schtick and he has a few lemmings who give him a tug once in a while, but this is not 1988, and MTV does not post concert dates in between Billy Squier videos anymore.

Music does not buzz, films still create a buzz, cat videos, and epic fail vids, but music is secondary or even tertiary to even blu-ray releases of 90's pop culture movies, or animated movies. Amanda Bynes tweets = Buzz, Rock n Roll music, umm, no.

Wow, BBA, your're so edgy and so Rad!

  11. NO.

I love Axl but this band is a joke!

Had a chance with Finck & Bucket. That was authentic. Shame! What cool videos they could have made.

Fuck the label n every single AnR guy around!

    They ruined it!

Yeah! Cause GNR was supposed to be what I wanted, forever! Good point. How dare this band get old and change! Not fair, WaaaaaAAAAAAaaaAAAAAaa.

    Big baby.

  12. I don't give a shit about a bands legacy. If the music is good, I buy it and listen. Who gives a shit, who gives a fuck? I don't even think Axl and Slash care about that shit as much as some of you star fuckers on this board. I personally think my EZ Green from Scotts in regards to patching the spots on my grass is more important than the legacy of anything.

  13. Ill post the melbourne 16th one later, but I think his voice was phenomenal this tour

    Wtf are you smoking man?

His voice gone faar away. Not only on this tour, but the last 2 years...

I saw them 3 times in 2010, 2 times in 2012 and 3 times in 2013... and I beg to differ.

Have seen them 6 times in last few years, and he sounded very good to great in most songs, and had a few problems ina few songs. But overall, great. You combine that with the visual charisma he has, the band chemistry and pyro, and if you can still find a reason to complain...you only get to see them on youtube, and are bitter.

  14. Most important thread ever.

    Gayest Avatar ever.

On topic, Fan of The Donald. His twitter is fucking hilarious. Such a caricature of himself.

I bet Ivanka Trump is also a big GNR fan.

    Ivanka-Trump.jpg

Maybe she could star in the new Atlas Shrugged video.

Ivanka would make a great Dagny Taggart. I'd definitely try and get her for the video if I were Axl.

You know what, a few droogs of mine have had that Atlas casting conversation, and that is not a bad one actually. I always thought like Charlize Theron, made to look a tad older. But yea, she would do nicely.

I bet Ivanka Trump is also a big GNR fan.

    Ivanka-Trump.jpg

God the things I would love to do to for her

    Your avatar suggests otherwise actually.

  15. I hope Kimi wins, so they can celebrate together!

Not a snowballs chance in hell. Vettel may win 2/3 of the races this year. I will be watching, and if he comes on, I will post a pic ASAP.

    Hahahaha, Kimi!!!!!!!!

Dude I am not a Vettel fan. I am tired of him. I am GLAD Kimi Won. It is just F1 has a tendency to go to the most cash spent. I love the sport, and love seeing someone besides Red Bull win. I have no problem with it at all. I am tired of Vettel.
