  1. If Axl and Slash both make amends then it could happen. Of course things look real bad now considering Axl's attitude but then again who knows. It will probably involve a strange twist of events if it does happen. Anyways, lets hope for the best. A reunion is a must because it is the only band that sounds like GNR to me.

  2. Would be nice if Slash called Axl but does he even have the correct number anymore. Just saying. I guess Slash could talk to Axl's manager or something. Who knows.. Matt actually makes a lot of sense and approaches the thing in the same manner I would imagine it should be done. Someone from the 5 needs to talk to Axl and Slash is the one that really needs to make amends and get Axl ok with the idea of coming to the event. I am sure Izzy would come if he know Axl was going.

The truth is this event could have been good for all of them if they just all got in a good frame of mind and enjoyed it. Obviously Matt will have a good time one way or another. He has a good attitude about it.

  3. I don't like the fact Axl will not support the old band by going to the RRHOF but I will still give Axl and his band a listen if they ever get an album done in the future. May even go to another show to watch Axl sing. Of course I am no near as excited about Axl's band as I am about the old GNR. They are completely different animals and flavors of music. GNR is not played right unless it is played by Slash, Izzy, Duff, steven or Matt as far as I am concerned. So Axl's band is inferior just like other GNR tribute bands except Axl sings. I just miss the band that put GNR on the map.

  4. So many years have been wasted after the breakup of GNR with Axl trying to rebuild a band. I can imagine all the records we could have had by now if they did not breakup. We need to go to an alternate universe and find all those records they did. You know when the timeline is different do to no breakup happening. Wow... that would be interesting to hear. Maybe Kurt Cobain did not die in one of them too. Just imagine how cool it would be to be able to travel to parallel earth. Anyways, I am a fan of the tv show called Sliders that was on the air on Sci Fi channel in the 90s it was based on traveling to parallel earths. I have always thought about that. Maybe Metallica released more albums after the Black Album.

I some times think about time traveling back in time and going to the Ritz show in 88. Would love to go to that GNR show I missed in 1993 when they played with Metallica in Rapid City SD.

  5. I think it was because Slash did not like some of the vocals that Axl came up with for some demo songs. Maybe Slash was trying to decide the direction the music went and Axl did not like that. I remember reading some where that Axl had ideas for vocals but Slash kept rejecting them. I think that was probably the reason. But who knows it is Axl and I am sure there are many reasons.

    Right!!!!

Because anybody that says anything negative about Axl clearly doesn't know what they are talking about.

This guy interviewed Axl. Personally talked to him. But he is WRONG, and you - a fan who has never spoken to Axl - is right.

In your opinion, has Axl ever did anything wrong in his entire life?

sorry .. I'm not talking about Axl's life .. I'm just doing an analysis of someone who claims to have first seen Axl ... and Axl did all these confessions to him

and Roger also said Axl called Slash as a co-founder of the band, and we all know Slash isn't co-founder of GN'R .. he replaced Tracii :shrugs:

Its amazing the lengths some people on here will go to discredit Slash and the other original members. They really believe Axl sang, played drums, and taught Slash how to play guitar and everything else under the sun.

Yeah it is amazing. Slash wrote so many songs worth of guitar that people like to listen to and yet you got people trying to deny him. Why do people praise a cover band with Axl singing and deny Slash's greatness is beyond me. Slash is the one that wrote the guitar parts on most of the great songs at least the leads.

  6. I would like a reunion if Axl could get his voice back in shape and sing like he used to. No more mickey mouse or helium voice. Of course Axl denies ever wanting a reunion. Until slash and other members apologize to him for whatever he thinks wronged him he will never forgive and allow a reunion. It is real sad. I think Axl is ocd about whatever happened that hurt his feelings.

Success probably fueled the destruction of the band. Lawyers and business people's greed probably caused the breakup of the band more than anything. It is sad but that seems to be the main cause in my mind.

The breakup between Axl and Slash must have been real bad to hold a grudge like this for so long. Personally I think Axl trying to turn the rest of the band into hired guns probably was a big issue. Now if that is not the case then the GNR name should have been shared equally instead of Axl owning the name. Just a thought.

If Axl would have took an interest in Slash's first snake pit album soon enough before he got a singer GNR may still be around. Who knows.

I believe Axl firing Gilby Clark without Slash's input was another reason for Slashes departure. Slash has stated that he had troubles writing with guitarists that Axl wanted him to play with. Slash found Gilby after Izzy left. Gilby was someone slash could write with. Axl fired him and got Paul Tobias an old friend of his to play in place of Gilby. Now to top it off Paul goes and copies one of Slashes solos on a recording and replaces with his version in the studio. Slash is then pissed.

Tobias is known to have worked and recorded with Guns N' Roses in 1996, when the band started working on their sixth studio album. His role in the band was not clarified publicly at the time. According to Rose, this was due to the uncertainty on whether Tobias would eventually be featured on the record and subsequent tours as a rhythm guitarist. While former band members Slash and drummer Matt Sorum have publicly stated that Tobias' involvement strengthened their respective decisions to resign from Guns N' Roses, Rose has stood by his associate.

"The public gets a different story from the other guys - Slash, Duff, Matt - who have their own agendas. The original intentions between Paul and myself were that Paul was going to help me for as long as it took to get this thing together in whatever capacity that he could help me in. So when he first was brought into this, he was brought in as a writer to work with Slash."

  7. What are your thoughts on the "fans" who will hold a grudge against Axl forever for ruining their dreams of a reunion?

We get put in the old guns section of the forum normally. That is what happens. That way the new guns fans are not up set at our anger about no reunion.

  8. How about Its So Easy without Axl. Like they did before. See video. It was Slash and Duff on vocals.

I think So Fine would be a good song to do with Duff on vocals. I agree that Attitude would be a good one too.

Too bad Axl can't grace us with his presence long enough to play a few songs. He is too worried that all the fans would demand a reunion even stronger I am sure.

  9. This sucks. At least Axl could of left his name as a nomination. It will be very strange to have Axl not be listed in GNR on the award. I think The Hall of Fame did right by the list they planned to induct.

The hype went on too long. Is anyone really super surprised Axl will not show up. It is too bad because I figured this event could help the band make mends. I figured if they all meet up and hanged out maybe they could all get on good terms again.

  10. I think it will fit good for a movie. I agree it is kinda a soft song and from the intial clip I thought it would be heavier and was kinda shocked when I heard the whole song. It is a good song but not as good as I hoped. I do like it though. I reminds me of audioslave some but you can tell it is a soundgarden song because of the guitar parts. I like it. I have high hopes for the up coming record. I like the song more now I listened to it more and got over being shocked about it not being as heavy as the beginning suggested.

  11. The problem with remasters is that most of the time in the last few years they sound worse then the original. Look up the Loudness Wars on google that should explain it to you.

I do like the idea of them re-releasing it if it is done right but it must have extra tracks. Like the demo version of don't cry with Adler playing the drums. Jumpin Jack Flash and heart break hotel would be good extra tracks too. Maybe some of the other demos to.

  12. Greatest Hits is at 31 on Billboard Top 200. 230 weeks on the chart. The number of weeks on the chart has to be a record.

They're liquidating the Greatest Hits album because it was not sanctioned by Axl, Slash, nor Duff. If I remember right, all 3 tried to prevent its release. Myabe eventually there will be a greatest hits album with goodies, sacntioned by the founders.

Makes since they may have a new Greatest Hits coming out. By why sell the digital album so cheap if a new version is coming out. Makes sense to sell the cd at stores to get it out of inventory to make room for the new version.

  13. to me AFD and CD are pretty similar in approaches in some ways. Saying that CD would have been great if it was released at a certain time, say earlier, seems to miss, if not the point, but something. It's like saying AFD would have been awesome if it was released in the 70s cos it had some 70s influence in the mix. CD has elements found in the great 90s albums, it doesn't have to be released in the 90s to be great. the way GNR sort of puts together these album seems to defy time.

I agree AFD is timeless that is why it has sold so many copies over the years. The total number of records sold was 28 million for 1987 thru 2008. Now it should be more. People still go to concerts to hear AFD after all these years. It is a great record.
