Chris Cornell is probably the best today. Axl used to be the greatest in late 80s early 90s. I think Scott is pretty amazing in VR and STP. I like Todd in the Toadies as one of my top favorites. Also, Dave from Monster Magnet.

I think Slash would do it if he thought Axl wanted to do it and they could have a working relationship / friendship again. So far Axl says he hates Slash that pretty much ruins any chance for a reunion unless Axl changes his tune and gets more open to the idea. Slash does not want to do a reunion just for money he wants to do it for the right reasons which would be new music and tour in the style of old guns plus a renewed friendship. They would have to have a better working relationship then they did in the past to last. Axl showing up to rehersals, recording sessions on time, and shows on time are some of the requirements. Besides not leaving shows in the middle because some fan pissed him off.

I have a hard time believing that GNR would not sell out many shows in the major cities in the USA. But I guess you never know. Sure it is not the same band but they still have Axl and play the old songs. That is why I think things may be more complicated than just ticket sales. I think there is some behind the scenes politics involved. Thus, my theory that Axl's lawsuit with Azzoff was the reason for no tour. Is the economy in the USA really that much worse than other countries to the point of it destroying ticket sales or is it just Azzoff that is causing GNR not to tour USA.

I still think GNR should do a small clubs tour it would be so cool. Then later do bigger shows.

I think one of the biggest mistakes was switching the Single too early they did not give Chinese Democracy the song enough time to get some radio play. Also, Axl's lack of promotion had a lot to do with it. He should have visited the major radio stations in the country and got them to play the songs. The fact that Axl does not like to do interviews is part of the problem. If Slash was in the band he would have went to the radio stations and got them playing and probably went to Leno and some of the late shows.

Another mistake was stoping radio stations from playing the leaked songs. Better was very popular when it leaked and got played on the radio. The slowness to release Chinese Democracy was another problem that hurt it.

But we all know that expecting this album to sell like previous GNR albums is crazy because it is a different band and a different sound. So you can't expect the same results besides a lot of time passed between GNR's past success in the early 90s.

Axl does not sound that good in eaither. But the first one I could hardly hear him. The second sounds like he is straining his voice and maybe has a bad monitor. The guitar work of the band does not even compare to the old band. I agree that DJ's guitar does sound better than Robin on this song.

Sometimes you need to play the small shows and work your way up to the big shows again. Maybe Axl is not willing. But there is so many festivals in the summer here in the USA that GNR could have been a headliner it is crazy they could have sold out large stadiums maybe not Arenas. I think Stadiums make better shows than Arenas anyways. I am also a fan of small clubs. Maybe a small club tour then some festivals like Ozzy Fest, then starts a stadium tour.

I noticed there is only a few shows in the USA. Why? Is Axl boycotting Ticketmaster because of the lawsuit with his ex-manager that runs Ticketmaster.

Yeah if Axl has crazy demands like making Slash, Duff, Izzy, and Steven being only session players/paid tour musicians it could be a hard sell. There should be equal share of the wealth in any new partnership for a reunion. And if there is any crazy demands to gain ownership of the back catalog that would be horrible.

I really liked the old band and wish they never broke up. They were one of my favorite bands. I can only imagine how awsome new albums from them would have been. I really enjoyed AFD and illusions. I loved the slash album too.

I think Vengeance is Mine by Alice Cooper with Slash is a good example of a song that sounds like I would imagine a GNR song would have been. Just imagine what that would have been like with Axl on vocals. Amazing.

There were several songs on the Slash solo album that would have been really cool to have Axl on too. I really enjoyed the Slash solo album because it was a great mix cd that had a lot of different styled singers and does not get boring to me. I also think Fall to Pieces could have been cool with Axl on vocals.

Also, if Izzy was back then imagine how cool that would have been. Steven would be real cool to have back also. It would be more like AFD which I love. I think Duff's punk roots helped GNR in a big way too. I love the Blues that Slash brought to GNR and I would have hated to see him turn his back on that style if forced by Axl. I think Slash was right to not want to become the next NIN with Axl singing. Slash wanted GNR to be like 70s Aerosmith but harder. I can understand that. Axl just wanted a grander or larger sound in the Illusions and I could understand broadening the sound but to change to a NIN styled GNR was just too much for Slash and I can agree on that one. Although I did love the song Chinese Democracy I would much rather have my old guns back.

Now factor in what Axl sounded like on Sebastien Bach album Angel Down and I got to say Axl sounds much better in his old style than his new. He needs to return to his roots and forget this new direction he has taken with Chinese Democracy the album.

I forgot to mention how much I love Alice In Chains also. Layne was amazing.

For me bands that make albums and go on tour help keep my attention but I still like the older music too from bands that broke up or don't exist anymore.

I used to say I had a favorite band but now it is my favoirte band for the day, because it changes depending on my mood. AFD is one of my favorite albums of all time. Illusions are great to. But I have other bands I like too. GNR is normally in my top 5. Other bands that I go crazy over lately are The Toadies, Stone Temple Pilots, Soundgarden, Smashing Pumpkins. I used to really love Metallica but they have lost me with the bad production of Death Magnetic they totally ruined it with clipping due to over compression beside St. Anger which was a let down also. I still listen to the Black Album and think it is one of the best. I still love Nirvana. I like Megadeth to Countdown to extinction is my favorite besides Youth In Asia. I really like Rob Zombie and White Zombie. I really love the new Slash album too. Pearl Jam used to be my favorite band but they have let me down too many times I really loved the early 90s albums. Lately I have enjoyed listening to Sublime, Presidents of the United States of America, and Everclear. I am mainly into early 90s bands and their current work also. I also love some of the 80s bands like GNR, Motley Crue, AC DC, and Van Halen. Of current newer bands I like Linkin Park they continue to amaze me. I just loved the transformer soundtrack song by LP.

Bands that I go to concerts whenever they are in town are The Toadies, Stone Temple Pilots, Monster Magnet, Rob Zombie. I used to go see Audioslave and plan on to see Chris Cornell when ever I can. I look forward to a Soundgarden show after all these years waiting for a reunion. They are one of my top favorite bands. I normally go see Bush when ever they are in town I really love Gavin's voice and the guitar work is awsome in that band. I also normally go see megadeth and motley crue when they come near my town.

Losing most of the founding members of the band did result in smaller sales don't kid yourself Axl.

Axl did not promote the album much when it came out. There should have been a tour to support it when it was launched. Axl should have visited all the top Radio Stations in the country and got them to play it. He should have visited all the talk shows and played the songs. He should have made and released music videos.

Having high quality sounding audio for the stream is important and I don't think it hurt sales. Unless he is just trying to trick people into thinking GNR sounded the same which I think is not right. People buy what they like.

I think Chinese Democracy the song was a good choice but it did not get promoted enough by the band and label. I did not hear it much on the Radio.

Axl should not have got radio stations to quit playing Better when it leaked before the album was released. That was a mistake. He should have let them play it because it was popular and the cat was out of the bag all ready. He then should have rode the wave of popularity and then release the album with Better as the single.

The fact that the many songs were around for almost ten years before the album was released had to hurt sales. People lose faith in a band that can't release an album in a timely fashion. Ten years was way too long. I waited for the album but I am sure others gave up and moved on to other music.

Overall poor promotion by the Band and Label is to blame besides the changing of the style and members of the band. Bad timing on the release of the Album. Don't say it is coming out year after year and not release. Keep your promises.

I agree the Best Buy exclusive deal was bad news. They would have been better off with an exclusive deal with Walmart like AC DC did. But I am not convinced these exclusive deals are good. Maybe instead release it as usual to all outlets.

I wonder if they will not induct GNR just because of what happened when Van Halen was inducted. If GNR is not reunited then they may pass thinking of how badly the induction could go. Then again it probably could be good tv even if it goes badly.

I read Rage Against The Machine will be there also. Should be real cool.

If axl has to rerecord songs everytime someone quits the band it could take a long time to get another album. I am guessing DJ is rerecording parts. Maybe DJ is making compeletely new songs with Axl.

I remember reading about how great the song the General was. I think it was Baz that said he heard it. Anyone else hear it? I think it could be amazing form what I read about it. It really makes one wounder what the other songs Axl recorded during the time he had to record Chinese Democracy the album. There must be many songs that are just laying around waiting to be released or ones we will never hear. Makes one want Axl to hurry up and release something. It just took so long to get Chinese D that I feel we are do more material. I don't want to wait years again to get another album. But I am worried it will take years again. Hopefully not tens of years to get another one.

Keep the faith people one bad show is not un heard of. At least most of the songs were good. Hopefully Scott will get back in form and rock on. I would hate to see STP breakup again. That would be devastating. Scott has been great everytime I have seen him. I can only say the one show where he mumbled between songs on jams was not as great. But the real songs during that set were great. Scott in general is a great singer and at times is god like. I am keeping my fingers cross for this band and Scott. I am going to see them soon live. Hopefully it will be as amazing as always. Scott was great in VR and STP at the shows I have seen. Monitors could have been the problem or a number of things for this latest incident. Scott is human after all.

Wow I was looking into this cover band called Appitite for Destruction because they are coming to indianapolis on March 5th. Anyways I was amazed how good they are. The Axl sounds very much like Axl and the Slash sounds pretty good too. I am amazed how good they are. They are really close to old GNR. Anyways check out the videos I found on you tube of this cover band and judge for your self. I was in shock how good they are.

"I got a call yesterday that my friend Gilby Clarke (a former GN'R guitarist) got in a bad motorcycle accident when a truck pulled out and took a left in front of him. When I went to see him in the hospital on Monday night, Gilby further told me that the guy in the truck just took off, leaving the scene of the accident. My friend "Biker" Tim (whom I have written about in previous columns), also got in a bike accident recently. Maybe I will sell this bike down here after all."

Foo Fighters first album, Alice in Chains Jar of Flies are a few that come to mind. Chinese Democracy was one that I did not like much at first. I like it some now but no near as much as the older music by GNR.

I agree Tiny Music by STP was on first listen weird because STP changed their sound a lot. But after listening more it has become one of the great albums. Matter of fact it is a fan favorite on the STP official forum. I did not like Shang La much at first eaither.

I really hope soundgarden reunites because that band was really great. I loved their music. Superunknown was an amazing album. No dobt that Matt should reunite with soundgarden if they do shows. Matt was much better in soundgarden than pearl jam.

I just got the new song "I Promise This is Not Goodbye it is awsome." This is one of the best songs Cornell has done lately. It has a lot of heart. You can download it at the official site link below. I think it is pretty cool of Chris to do what he did to help out the family. Read the Story about how a fan co-wrote the song with Cornell. It was based on a poem written by a father about his daughter that died. It has a lot of heart and is real. So that makes it even more emotional.
