I think they don't want to comment on it because they are not sure it will happen or not. Maybe they have talked or maybe not. I figure why get our hopes up too much. If it is meant to be it will happen. Better to be a surprise if it is going to happen.

Some one needs to start some dialog between Axl and the rest of the old band. Then again maybe Slash just does not want to get our hopes up.
-
My favorite three are Core, Purple, and Tiny Music. I like them all though.

Wait and see is the best approach. Don't count on anything but hope for the best.

Axl was the only one remaining from when the band was formed and the name chosen so he was right to own the name. Slash and Duff were never thrown out of the band and they signed over the band name in their willing. I understand Axl's decision to protect the name from what he felt would be a threat (members being on the verge of serious health problems, possible disband etc). I'd hate GnR being in LA Guns's situation (2 bands fighting for the same name). Imagine Steven Adler having a GnR named band today
I found out not long ago there are two Great White bands out there now.
Maybe they just make a new name for GNR. Could just Write RoseSlashDuffSorumIzzy as band name. Or maybe it does not matter that much look at Black Sabbath they have the same name with Ozzy or the other guy singing.

I am a big fan of old GNR or I like to say Classic GNR. I remember when AFD came out and the excitement I had when I first heard Welcome to the Jungle. That song I just totally loved and played over and over on the jukebox. I never got tired of that song. I was very impressed with Axl's screem in the begining of the Jungle. Would love to hear a reunion tour.
-
Or reunion.... Probably not but can wish. Chinese II would be good too.
-
I was thinking it would be cool to think about what bands could play tribute to GNR at the Rock In Roll Hall of Fame. I think Metallica could be a cool band to do a cover of GNR in a Metallica style.
Other bands that could be cool
Corrosion of Conformity
Rob Zombie
Megadeth
AC DC
All right I let you guys speculate what bands would be good at covering GNR for a tribute.
-
Maybe something that Axl can sing perfectly still. Not so sure about the Jungle's vocals I have not heard him do that one right in a while. Maybe don't cry, mr. bownstone, its so easy, sweet child of mine, november rain, or estranged. I would love to hear Night Train too. Civil War, Live and Let Die, and pretty much any of them. Knockin on Heavens Doors if done like GNR did on Illusion II. I would like to hear So Fine. Too hard to choose I love GNR.
If they do a cover I hope they do Heart Break Hotel or Jumpin Jack Flash. Besides of course Knockin on Heavens Doors and Live and Let Die.
The original demo version of don't cry with Adler on drums would be cool.

Here is proof that GNR reunion would be awsome. Just check out some of the near reunions of GNR in the recent past. Via youtube.... Personally a tour with Matt and Steven as drummers would be really cool because they could do all the songs. My personal opinion Axl singing could be the question mark of a reunion living up to expectations.
Paradise City - Duff Slash Steven Adler
Slash, Izzy Stradlin, Steven Adler - Mr. Brownstone
Velvet Revolver - It's so Easy (Fet Izzy Stradlin) (of course slash, duff, matt in VR)
Camp Freddie - Jumping Jack Flash- izzy slash duff matt
Velvet Revolver - Patience - slash, duff, matt
Slash, Duff McKagan and Matt Sorum Jamming
It's So Easy- Velvet Revolver (slash, matt, duff)

Will Metallica play a GNR song? Ha.... Never know. Just thinking they may have another band play a cover of GNR for the audience.

One thing that always bugged me about this new band is they need two lead guitarist. Seems pretty strange too me. I think it would sound better as a 5 piece or (6 piece with Dizzy). Currently it is like 8 people right? Also, it makes it more difficult to figure out who is playing what. They are a good GNR cover band I give them that. They also do seem to enjoy playing for the fans so that is great too. For me the biggest let down has been Axl's vocals for Chinese Democracy the album. I think Axl's voice worked better with the old band.
I agree that seeing the new band live does make you appreciate them more. It gives Axl a way to preform the old songs and it can be an amazing experience to see Axl live. At the same time it just makes me want a reunion more. The new band seems more mechanical and has less of a soul to it. Maybe because it takes 8 guys to make the music of what used to be 6. If Axl could get his old style of singing and vocal strength back that would help. He seems to be mickey moused or on helium at times. Just hope he can build up that voice and get his grove back.
Axl's new GNR needs to start releasing records and promoting them. Or give us a reunion.
-
The problem with the new GNR is they don't sound like the old GNR. So to me that is a big reason to want a reunion.
-
I will believe all five will be there when they show up. No need to get your hopes up too much. If Axl has not said it personally I would not really put too much salt to it.
-
I really want a reunion. The old style of GNR was amazing. Sure I would check out Chinese Democracy II if it drops but I would much rather hear something form the old band. I loved AFD and Illusions. I really like Slash and his style. Anyways, at least I can still listen to the old records. I hope for a reunion show at Hall of Fame. Maybe Slash and Axl can be friends again and get reunion tour one day.
-
This interview was really cool. I checked out part one and two. Waiting for part 3. Anyways, it was pretty cool hearing about the old days and how GNR started out.
-
This was pertty cool to hear.
-
-
Currently I don't have the money for that. But if I did I would seriously consider it. At the same time I would think if they do one show they may do more at a cheaper price later so it would be a gamble. I probably would go if I had the cash and could get time off from work at the time.
-
The loss of Izzy is part of the reason GNR broke up. Slash needs someone he can write with. Slash found Gilby but Axl fired him. Slash can write well with Izzy and their guitar parts go together really well.
It is interesting that Axl would even talk about this subject even if he is just thinking and not taking it too seriously.
-
Could it be a tour with Van Halen since they have an album drop on Feb 7th?
-
Actually a lot of us older fans would love to hear GNR go back to the old style.
-
Would be real cool to have Slash and Duff in GNR again. Not sure it would ever happen again. I am a huge fan of the reunion idea since I loved the old GNR. This is the first I have heard Axl talk positively about Slash in a long time. Even if they don't reunite it is good that maybe they can be friends again. It is positive that Duff has been opening GNR with Loaded. Maybe Duff can help bridge a friendship between Axl and the other members of old GNR.

Chinese Democracy has been on sell for some time at Best Buy. I think it was $1.99 last I saw. Could be less by now. Not sure if they ran out of stock yet.
