Yeah, if there is any good to come out of this it’s the possibility of the US overhauling its healthcare system.

Hopefully Republicans will be flushed from power in November and Democrats will have the political will and support to enact universal coverage and build up their healthcare infrastructure.

If not we’re likely looking at a historical first: a failed wealthy state.

Your wish is this country's worst nightmare. Republicans (Trump) is the only thing keeping this country from going to Hell, literally. Obama passed his own Healthcare reform. How did that work out for us? Yeah, it didn't.

How many unreleased CD era tracks do we have now?

    Silkworms

    Oh my god

    Going down

    Atlas

    Perhaps

    Jackie chan/checkmats/hardschool

    State of Grace

OMG is not unreleased, unless you speak of the demo-ish version. Let's discuss Hardschool. Fans called it Jackie Chan because Axl said we may have heard it somewhere and others deduced it was the Hardschool clip from 2006

True, but Checkmate was a shitty 16 second clip coming on the heels of the first leaks of IRS, Better, and TWAT (And CITR? Or was that after?) and it got a hell of a lot more attention than this. The fact is a lot of people are just beyond caring about this era of the band nowadays.

20 year old demos of that incarnation of GN'R no ones cares about anymore.

I have to respectfully disagree with you on that.  My opinion is that "NU-GNR" was doomed from the start. Whether an album dropped in 99-01 or the actual CD release date of 2008, it didn't have Slash in it. I think Axl knew this and that's why he had trouble with the follow up.

What should have happened but didn't was GNR going on hiatus, which would have freed Axl from the GNR brand so that he can pursue a solo album. Restarting the band with new members rarely works, especially with a band that is already established.

Pretty much. I'm sure it didn't help Axl's confidence for the label to reject his efforts. I would have also. The demos sound nothing like GN'R, so they told him to try again, and rightfully so.

You should work on your self-esteem a little if playing a song for some friends invokes such a terrible reaction for you. Really, who gives fuck what's "cool?"?

You should work on expanding your taste in music a little. The music industry doesn't give a fuck about GN'R. One CD in 25 years doesn't evoke excitement in anyone. Get a grip on yourself. Touring on 30 year old albums is the only thing GN'R has going for them.

I've played the track for a few casual fans and all of them love it. I agree it needs some work, but it's a strong track as it is.

I wouldn't embarrass myself in playing these songs for my friends or anyone else. I once shared the Goin' Down demo, they didn't like it.  GN'R isn't cool to average people except as a nostalgic act.

Wow, really? I've talked about it for years. Seems obvious to me that it's very much about Slash but you and everyone else disagrees.

I just don't see it Russ. Any of the rock songs like Hard School or other songs on CD I can see that. But not a slow sappy song like The Blues? I don't see Axl saying "What I thought was beautiful inside of you" to Slash and the next day "Slash is a Cancer, the least we hear from him and his supporters the better" It just doesn't sound right. Ya' know?
