I cannot imagine on what planet some people think it's fake. To each their own, I guess.

The quality of the song has absolutely nothing to do with who is or isn't "a band". And you're seriously going to tell me that Anything Goes or Shotgun Blues are better songs than this? Nah.

I did say UYI had exceptions. That can be considered of them. What's wrong with AG? I like it a lot. AG sucked in it many demo forms but not on AFD. That's like saying who is better Motley Crue or GN'R? It's 2 different bands. I treat them as such. It only seems fair

    You are 1000% accurate.

This is Axl Rose doing what he does best. No one else could come up with that chorus melody and sing it the way he does.

This song is better than anything on CD outside of TWAT and Better and I would put it up against anything on UYI or AFD. It's that good.

Usually your criticisms are pretty on point. Except here. Nothing post 1991 will ever beat AFD. As for UYI, sure there are some throw away songs on there, that's fair. I know your love for CD, this song is good, not exceptional. The beginning is weird at best (which doesn't match the rest) Then slowly moves into hard rock. Some really good angry vocals on there too! The drums are way out of Brian's league. Josh clearly is better. Everything from the solo on is fantastic! As an original AFD purist I consider it sacrilegious to compare the 2 bands. It's different beast entirely. Having only 1 original member does not a band make.

Yes, those were the percentages for songwriting credits/publishing rights. But as far as percentage earned on sales, it was 20% each.

I'm not sure where you got that? In Steven's book, Steven reduced himself to 15% of royalties. Which means money based on each item sold and song writing credits. Steven sued GN'R to have his royalties reinstated and won.

I wouldn't call them disposable but I don't think everyone should be entitled to healthcare either.  The more handouts are given to people the closer we will be to becoming Socialists.  How many people would push themselves to do well in school or apply themselves at work if everybody had a right to healthcare?

That's very harsh, especially if you're talking about American citizens. Everybody deserves healthcare. I don't agree with it being free for some and others have to pay (referring  to illegals) of course.

Depends who you are.  If you were someone who only bought catastrophic insurance or a "Cadillac plan," you likely paid more with the implementation of Obamacare.

If you were someone who couldn't get insurance or paid sky-high premiums because of pre-existing conditions, you most likely paid less.

I can see that. My issue, as I said in the political thread is I don't like the Government does nothing to lower healthcare costs. It just made sure you bought insurance. The cost is still to high. Who can afford a 2-3-4 thousand dollar deductible? It's letting Hospitals and others continue to charge whatever they want because everyone has insurance.

"GNR" version is pushing it right? Is anyone besides Axl and West even on it? Does anyone have Slashs opinion on the song?

No, just Axl, West & a drum track far as I know. I remember Slash saying something like they wouldn't consider the song it because it was something Axl & West did long time ago and it really didn't involve GN'R anyway. As I recall.

Face value was never that high for pit tickets during that leg of the tour though. It isn't a sale to price them at face value ($250/275). Ticketmaster/Live Nation sets aside tickets as "platinum" and prices them at what they call "true value." When they don't sell at their supposedly "market rate" pricing, then they revert back to selling them for the same price as the rest of the tickets. It's basically, like, legal scalping, this dynamic pricing nonsense.

You do very well at reiterating the same thing I posted. When a Platinum ticket is all you can buy in the pit section that means you can't even buy one for 250-275. So, Just wait. When no one pays their overblown price they lower it to a more reasonable rate. I get it/ we get it. We're both right.

Pit tickets were never that expensive. There were always around $250-275 for that leg of the tour. If you saw them for $600, that was either "platinum" ticket prices or the VIP packages.

I clearly posted they went on "sale" at 275 (both sides) and yes they were around 500-600 at first. Then it dropped.

Are you attending the OKC show?

Of course. All ready to go!

  9. Crash Diet is a good song. The main riff is what makes it cool, BUT as with Bring it Back Home, some of the tempo changes are a little off. The pause that goes into the Guitar solo is awkward. Bring it back Home also has several changes that are abrupt and don't fit well, but they are just demos after all.

  10. Whatever Axl was trying to convey through Chinese Democracy was lost on average fans. It's was just an album. I don't even know what the significance is behind the album.

    1. Axl  took too long: 15 years is an awful long time to make an audience wait for a new album.

    2. Chinese Democracy isn't a masterpiece: Cluttered, unfocused and bloated, Chinese Democracy never lived up to the hype it generated.

    3. GN'R isn't GN'R: Instead of the members fans loved; Slash, Duff, Izzy and the drummer (whichever one the fans cared about) were no longer there. Buckethead and Bumblefoot are fine players, but average fans never embraced their diversity.

    4. Too much ill will over the years: Back in the day, Axl was notorious for being hours late for concerts. People who've paid hard cash for a show don't like stunts like that, and they didn't forget.

    5. The tunes didn't work for radio: On mainstream and classic rock stations where other Guns N' Roses songs receive regular rotation, Chinese Democracy's title track flatlined. Meanwhile, people still call and ask for November Rain, Sweet Child O' Mine, Paradise City.

    6. Best Buy: Not the best idea. There seemed to be little to no interest in the album. Aside from one poster and a small display, there was no sense that an 'event' was taking place.
