  1. NOTHING by the 2001-2002 version fo the band is equal to the AFD band. They never had a show as energetic or as organic or as mindblowing as the AFD lineup. They never created anything even remotely as iconic or enjoyable as the AFD band. In 2014 if you put the AFD band together on stage, even with Steven they'd blow the 2001=2002 lineup off the stage. The original post isn't controversial it's just straight up fantasy.

Hey, it's his opinion. Nothing wrong with that. I happen to like the 2000's band better live than the old one, mainly due to Bucket and Tommy, but that doesn't take anything away from the old band.

  2. I think DJ could write some killer Guns-songs. Him playing other peoples' material might be a bit so-so at times, but he really shines when it comes to his own stuff (Sixx AM and Beautiful Creatures).

It's odd how people's taste can differ completely from one to another. I think Sixx AM and Beautiful Creatures are both utter shit. You seem to think the complete opposite. Funny.

People like this generic thing that Nikki still puts out. Sadly.

  3. After listening to the recommendations on this thread (haven't gotten to all of them yet)...I'm a BH convert...and wishing I'd taken the BH journey a long time ago. I've been missing out on some great music. I don't like all of it, but what I do like I really like and looking forward to continuing the exploration.

That's great :) he's totally awesome. Listen to Primus and Praxis... great bands and he's an amazing duo/trio kind of guy, especially with Brain and Claypool.

  4. Still listening to it, but as stated, not a solo show of his. He's playing with a local band. Oh, I like his tone, but the fretless tone is (much more) beautiful, no contest.

I'm scared of those guest singers you guys are bashing  are they really bad?

Oh, dear Lord. That man singing Hey Joe  That girl's voice cracks randomly throughout the songs, not to mention those random screams, she's funny

  5. you guys are on Ashba a lot, but his solo part on Nov Rain sounds more like old guns than the other two, Fortus is ok but choppy, and Bumbles tone is too high for the outro, Ashba has the right tone and bends for his part, i wish he did all 3 solos on the song

You'd rather hear Ashba's out of tune/inaccurate bends on the outro solo? Dear God. If even Bucket or Slash played those bends out of tune at times, please, do not let me hear Ashba playing it. Ever. I really mean it.

  6. Regarding this big fat paycheck Ron is getting...how much is it?

It's often spoken of but i've never heard an actual number

Brain said that, in 2006, he was making almost as much money sitting at home, working on other projects, as he was making on tour with Guns. So I highly doubt it is a 'big paycheck that none of those guys will ever see outside of Guns'.

"I was getting a lot of production gigs just staying home. I'm really into computers and music, and I have my own studio. I rent a room at Studio 880,and I built this MIDI studio with all these MPCs and outboard gear, and I just started doing production — commercials for TV, that kind of stuff. And I kept getting more and more gigs and making almost as much money doing that as I was from touring and being a drummer" Bryan Mantia

  7. Well, the three 'new' tracks are worthy. Especially this one...

Let Me In (Your Heart Again)

Awesome vocals, as expected. Freddie being Freddie, hitting high notes, great control, tone, vibrato, etc. Brian May's work is damn great, especially the ending of the song, with Freddie and Brain sounding great together.

Love Kills sound great as a ballad, May's guitar is great here...

Now on to the Freddie & Jackson duet, There Must Be More To Life Than This. I love the new arrangements, I really do. I can't, however, say that I love the new mix. Freddie's vocals do not sound as good as when he released this through his solo career. I don't know what the producer did, but he fucked up Freddie's vocals. But he nailed Jackson's vocals, sounds crystal clear. Maybe it's a thing from the Jackson family? I don't know. But the track is awesome, the Brian solo is great, etc.

  8. Mike I think you are missing the point. Slash doesn´t want to make history nor he wants to redefine rock music. He has band to make albums and he goes on tour with them. So he mix his catalogue with the GN´R classics that people in the audience want to hear. Conspirators is not meant to be a legendary band. If Slash is in a mood for an All Star Band he performs with KOC. Slash is still doing what he does best. He is still an amazing guitar player, one of the best in the world. When Slash is performing RQ and Anastasia he is also adding new riffs to them. He is making them even better

Axl on the other hand is messing with the GN´R legacy. It took Axl more than 10 years to make a forgetable album. His version of GN´R has been a revolving door. He has his housekeeper as the band manager. WTF??? The biggest problem I´m having with Axl is not that he plays WTTJ. It is that he doesn´t want to make more albums nor he wants to play one just one new song. And by new I don´t mean neither Prostitute nor Yesterdays. I mean The General or something else from his infamous Vault. There is never communication. Axl is using his twitter once in a blue moon to talk about a giraffe and breakfast. When us the fans want to know what the fuck is going with BBF and the band´s future.

No you are missing the point. I said all along that this was not to start an Axl vs Slash thread. I was expressing MY dissapointment with Slash's band at the concert I attended. That is all....

You shouted Axl's name repeatedly between songs to "be heard"??

Why not just publicly declare yourself a douche and be done with it?

For the record, I only did that after the gnr songs. Besides people have been giving Axl shit for years about no Slash. As a fan I'm not allowed to do the same to Slash??? Hmm.....

Translation - "Some fucking moron gave Axl shit at a GNR show over Slash, so as a rabid Axl fan I feel compelled to behave like a fucking moron at a Slash show to get revenge."

    Grow. The. Fuck. Up.

People were screaming Bon Fkn Jovi at the show I went to. People laugh at that, I doubt many would be mad at Mike. Of course, that excludes MyGnRForum users.

You've lost me - who and how many were yelling Bon Fkn Jovi and who were they yelling this at?

Say you're at a Bumble solo show and he teases the beginning of an old Guns song or plays part of an instrumental and someone's shouting "Slash". That sort of thing isn't douchey to you? Would YOU ever do it?

Of course it is douchey, but not many people would be mad at this person. I would've laughed as much as I did when someone shouted "BON JOVI!" tbh even Axl didnt care when there were "Salsh. Salsh" chants

What I meant though is that when we're there it doesnt matter as much as when we read on the internet.
