My favorite show yet and it may be my last.  I spent too much $$$ on travel and tickets on these guys.  It's easy to rationalize because I've been waiting half of my life to see this happen.  Great performance. Axl said some really bad joke at one point but I can't remember what he said.  Glad we got Patience and Don't Cry at the end.  Wish they would just drop the fucking Seeker.

Went with my cousin, and she doesn't follow every show like some of us..  She loved hearing The Seeker.

  2. Wow!  They really brought their A game with the St. Louis love for this show!  The McBob intro was great ... Duff came out wearing a "Streetside Records" (now defunct St. Louis chain) shirt, while Richard was wearing a "Kennedy's on the Landing" (old club downtown on the riverfront).  Chuck Berry was the only music played on the PA prior to the concert, and Slash played some Johnny B Goode. Axl was in the best mood I've ever seen tonight, and brought up how happy he was to be back several times.  He said that he was just thinking that last time he was in St. Louis was one year shy of being half his life ago.  He told a weird story about meeting a girl in St. Louis who's boyfriend had the FBI investigating him and she said something about a meat locker ...  I dunno it was hard to hear that, I'd like to hear what he was talking about there.  But anyway, this was honestly the best show I've seen in years!

He was only 48? Age has nothing to do with Axl's voice. The guy's vocals were at their weakest when he was 38 yrs old(2001-2002). Why do people keep bringing up age? Stop making excuses. I actually think he was capable of sounding good in 2001, but refused to sing well just like he is doing now. Had Axl got a chance to sing with ACDC in 2001, he would have sounded great. People don't lose their voice and then recover it, and then lose it , and then recover it. It doesn't happen. Axl's singing is intentional. Axl sounds great in 2010, and then a few months later sounds like absolute shit? Sings great with ACDC and then a few weeks later is struggling to belt out simple verses. I am sorry, but I am not buying it.

What would the rationale be for intentionally singing poorly (not that I agree that his singing has been bad)?  Even if this is it and he's gonna go full time with AC/DC, what exactly would be the reason to do that - why would he intentionally want to make himself look bad?  No offense, but this argument is completely illogical, just plain dumb.

  4. The way Kimmel was talking, it sounds like he could still show up.

Okay, is there anything confirmed for tonight? Other than burritos?

    Quesadillas.

Cheesy Breakfast Burrito with Sausage, hash brown, and a coffee.

Yeah, the whole "Or who knows...Maybe he'll surprise us." quip has me wondering.

Yea but if he's gonna bother to be on the show you'd think he'd want people to be watching and not find out tomorrow... I don't think he'll be there. Guess I'll DVR in case, but not gonna watch to be disappointed.

On the other hand..... I remember '89 I think, I watched the whole VMA's figuring GNR would be the surprise guest. As soon as Tom Petty came out I turned it off, only to find out Axl was there too. So maybe there's precedent...

  5. I don't like Frank. I hope he's not part of the new lineup. Richard is OK, I guess. He's played in an album featuring Slash hasn't he? Pretty sure Slash likes him too. But the less nu gnr stuff in this, the better.

I don't think anyone trusts Steven and pretty sure Axl hates Matt. Plus somebody from Axl's cover band prolly has to be in on this for Axl to save a little face and not come out the "loser" in this 20 year standoff.

Axl and Matt did meet each other in 2007 I guess, they hung around for a while.

Axl and Steven hung out too but .....

  7. Yeah,my opinion is Russ locks and merges this. We don't need a new thread for every thought people have. My apologies if you are a Noob. Maybe we need a sticky thread so people don't keep creating new threads all the time when mostly everything is already being discuessed at length.

This is about a new album, really not about the reunion, other than what (if any) impact a reunion might have on ever getting a new album.

On topic, I think the only hope for hearing the rest of the CD era stuff is if Axl just decides fuck it and releases it when he retires. I'm more intrigued by this 1 or 2 new songs thing.

  8. i hope axl, slash and duff are coming back to prove the world that they still can deliver the heavy goods after three decades.

I hope Axl doesn't come out as a fat out of shape lard-ass who put no effort whatsoever into trying to make this totally fucking awesome, or at least just not completely embarrassing ... That's my only fear is that he could be so bad that it would have been better if this had never happened .....

  9. 3 Million a show, and 25+ stadium shows...

Then what? Sail off into retirement?

Axl Needs cash, Slash and Duff most likely don't, they work constantly.

This kind of makes me feel sick.

Its against EVERYTHING the band most of us knew and loved stood for.

There won't be new music, just the Hits.

Hey, where have we seen that before?

I think "EVERYTHING the band most of us knew and loved stood for" flew out the window long ago. At worst this is still better than anything we could've hoped for otherwise.
