  1. This has to be the first time the mulltheads were credited as the people who liked the new album though.

    That's exactly what I was thinking . . . :rofl-lol:

It's kinda sick how some fans relate to the artists and talk about "relationships" that did never exist except in their minds. The best and healthy way to relate with an artist is enjoying their work.

Way to dismiss the metaphor and twist it into "kinda sick" . . .

We form a relationship, so to speak, with the band as a whole. And it’s a tenuous sort of relationship, because the only thing that ties us together is the actual music.

  2. Oh my god is a fucking awesome song!

    It's Schakels's-Revenge alike, but a way better!

I'd love to hear it live!

Two of the best songs they've done (post-Illusions) . . . I'd love to hear an album full of stuff like that!

  3. Silkworms n' OMG don't fit GN'R imo,nice songs

    though.

They've done such a wide range of music now that I don't understand how you can say that anything "doesn't fit" gn'r? What does that even mean?

    Axl"

that was before it was confirmed, jesus christ...I will take pictures of the promotion here.

it is not confirmed before it is posted on the official myspace, the official website or unless axl say otherwise!!

i don't care if there is promotion, because it is NOT confirmed, regardless of what you say!!

maybe YOU should do some research ;)

i dont have to do research, i have the ticket on my hands and didnt buy it on todoticket.com, so monumental promotion starts on costa rica now!!!

Well, I hope it's true and you get your concert, but don't be mad at Axl if he doesn't show . . . This one wouldn't be his fault!

  5. Whether it's CD or its follow-up, how successful it is will depend on promo... I think they're moving in the right direction with the tour so far (no cancellations/riots, earlier start times, Twitter updates, etc.). The question I have though, is concerning interviews. When Axl did his chats, he said something to the effect of "for better or worse, interviews are scheduled for 'much later'." I think getting himself out there for some of these would do a world of good. Do you think Axl will ever again sit down for a bona-fide interview, or will he just do email interviews, occasional chats, orchestrated Del James "interviews" and the like for the remainder of his career? And do you think it would make a difference?

In terms of pure commercialism? Yes it makes a difference. If he shows up on a late show and plays a number and then interviews vs some off-hand Del interview? Yea, huge audience difference. For the core fans does it matter? To me...not so much.

Sure, commercialism is what I was talking about... Here, we're already sold on it. So the term "comeback" doesn't really make any sense when used in the context of GNR's "core fan" base. I assume this thread is referring to a comeback in terms of general popularity.

  7. What city is this hockey arena in?

If i answer that, all thats going to happen is 1000000000000 calls asking the same question. i will give you a hint. its a city that loves hockey and football and are very good at both. They have one of the best rivals (at least they used too) in football. Seems like gnr always play in the other city, not here.

Do we get to guess? Is it Pittsburgh? What do you mean by

    ??

must have made that to easy. good job

Quick cross-reference of the NHL and NFL standings and there's not too many cities where both teams are very good.. Would've guessed Chicago but I think GN'R has been there plenty... Would've hoped St. Louis, but we're not very good at either :)

  9. Whether there's anything to this or not, there'll be a US tour... Seems here in the US, Axl's image is more tarnished than other places, so it makes sense that they're touring all these other places first, as more shows go off without a hitch and no Axl-related incidents occur, the more successful their US leg will be.

The only thing I see GNR's image being tarnished is if they cancel shows.

    Yep, that's a big one!

  11. Does anyone who was at the Tampa show in '06 remember seeing Robin fall offstage and then crawl back onstage and continue playing like nothing happened?

I was there but don't remember .................. much of anything. If Robin was half as drunk as I was by time they started, he could very well have fallen off the stage!
