  1. Is there something so wrong with not performing, thereby showing respect to the guys who are currently in the band and in some (most) cases have been involved with GNR longer than those the Hall wants to put on a pedestal?

How would it be disrespectful to the current band for the band being inducted to perform together? If it weren't for those original members, the current band wouldn't exist today.. They owe the fact that they can play stadium gigs in South America to the original band, and if it weren't for them, these "up close and personal" gigs they've done would be the best they could do. This band is piggy-backing on the success of the original, and for anyone to feel disrespected because of a performance of the original band as they were inducted into the HOF would be absurd.

  2. For Chicago, cheapest prices on Stubhub right now are around $239.

    Man!

If you can wait that long for a ticket, im sure prices will be lower the day before the show, and on craigslist, but its nice to be secured with a ticket

That's my hope, to get them day of show. $239 + 10% too rich for my blood!

  3. Got my Chicago tix!! See all you rowdy motherfuckers there!! rock3

    Same here! Overjoyed.

Anyone know if GA Balcony 1 is the best section? Not sure if the GA sections are separated or if that's just how they organize the sale.

Where, I can't get on LiveNation... Passcode is Electronic???

Me and my sis couldn't get them at first, either. You're right - the password is Electronic. Instead of "Any Price," try selecting the actual cost on the main page and see if it goes through that way. I tried that and it made the difference for me.

No luck tried like 100 times :(

I wonder is it sold out already? I will overpay on stubhub if I have to!

  4. I have the entire concert in video. Not sure if it's "legal" to upload though.

    Sure it is! :)

Does the iClips website still work? I was just finally getting to watch it and 30 minutes in it seems they've locked the clips, it just stopped....wtf?

    Nop, they locked the clips.

    Anyone else feels ripped?

Very much. I bought it late last night and never did get to see it. Emailed them they finally replied about an hour ago with "log out and log back in". This sucks!!!

    Does not work for me...

I get an icon of Axl from last night with a key symbol on it...

Yeah same here, I hope it's technical problems (their site's not very good), and they'll make it right - soon...

  6. I can't imagine anyone turning down 40 million dollars to play one show. i think there's a decent chance that this is going to be the one-off show that every one of us knew was eventually coming.

Well if Axl did agree to it, he'd be officially terminating the "new" Guns N' Roses concept and conceding he's motivated entirely by money. I for one would be disgusted.

So it's impossible for him to think GN'R was at it's peak with the old lineup, and to decide to try to hit that peak one more time? It doesn't have to be about money. Frankly, if they were to reunite I'd hope there's a lot more to it than the cash.

You seem to have missed the context of my response. Skulls proposed that Axl couldn't/wouldn't turn down an offer of forty million dollars to perform with the "original" five. I was responding to that.

I still don't get why some people are saying that axl would have to quit with the new band in order to do this, why couldn't both happen?

  7. I believe the ones who start these topics/rumors are envious of Axl´s vision and current incarnation of Guns N Roses.

    Put this as a sticky:

Axl has even been here on this forum, personally. Telling people that there NEVER will be a reunion with him and Slash.

Axl Rose and Slash will never, ever share a stage together again.

Axl Rose and Slash will never play music together again.

Why? Should we put a list up of the things that axl said that didn't come true too? Or would that not be convenient?

  8. no way. for axl to do that he would have to basically divorce the new line up and all the new gnr had/has is lost. axl would need to be broke and we know he isnt. money aside, you still have two mega egos that need to reconcile. that is also impossible. unless they are both broke, and again, they arent

Why would axl have to divorce the current lineup? They're big boys they know they're not the ones that would be offered HUGE money to play, they shouldn't have a problem with it. It's a one-off thing, do it and get back to whatever it is they're doing now.

  9. Voted no, but I don't really think it'd hurt the album . . . If Axl's willing to put himself out there a little and do a proper release the album will probably do just fine. I just want it to sound fresh when I give it the first listen. And sure there's the "just don't download the leaks then" argument, but I know (like plenty of you here I'm sure) that I don't have the self-discipline for that, so I'd just rather it not leak.

  10. We've already done the what if Axl went to jail topic.

    What haven't done to him?

We shaved his head, gave him a face lift, hair plugs, turned him into a rapper (that was the best one), dressed him, undressed him, had him date everybody, gave him new careers. We've done just about everything but castrate the guy to see if his singing voice changed.

lol we need the "What if Axl were Castrated?" thread.

  11. I find that it gives a Rock Star look to be playing the guitar with a smoke...

Not us having a smoke going on this forum!!

I remember in the Patience video, I think they all smoked...

Back in the day Axl used to light one up with his smoke holder during interviews, and he smoked his cigarette with style!! hihi

That was 20+ years ago. Alot of things that used to look cool no longer do.

  12. Nah, you have to truly want to quite if you really want to stop smoking.

And he looks cool? Meh, i would prefer him without.... but thats me

I didn't mean quit smoking - just on stage. Besides, Axl prolly wants him to smoke on stage so he can be a "proper" Slash II.

And I'm with gunsguy. I'm a smoker and I think I'd look a lot cooler not being the idiot standing out in the freezing cold puffing away on a cigarette . . .

  13. I love to see DJ smoking on Stage!! It looks like Ashba learned from the best that it gives a Rock and Roll look for a musician to smoke on stage...

Back in the day most Rockers smoked...

Is he the only smoker in GnR and do you think it pisses Axl Off since he quit smoking...

Don't know about any other band members, but I don't think it pisses Axl off - if it did he prolly wouldn't do it.

  14. ok so what some are saying is Guns should have come on 10 minutes after Korn? According to the times right? A couple old timers outside the venue hardly dictate what was going on in the show. Guns starting at 9 something is too late now according to some, what time should they play dinner time?

they started before 10 some of you are missing that, I agree some times it is very late start times but this is not one of them. I guess next time the band should just play 1 hour and leave? Not my idea of a good night in that respect.

Also I didn't just post a pic, I posted a link that is already being discussed on another thread

G N' R started 35 minutes after the openingact here in Belgium. Why can't they do this at every show?

Because Axl won't whore himself out to his fans by sucumming to their every whim! Axl performs when he is ready, and if you don't like it, don't go. Simple as that. But if you live close to the venue then you might as well go because it's gonna be loud and it's gonna be late . . . Because that's "Rock N' Roll."

gunsguy, really? How can you even argue that there should be no expectation that everything's setup and they hit the stage within a specified time frame? It's not like they're playing some free gig in the park, these are paying customers. I agree with you that this incident wasn't really that bad, but they most definitely could have gone on earlier. Any rational person knows by now that the only reason this is happening so often is that Axl is being an egotistical douch about it. In this case, you got to hear from not only the fans who felt like they got screwed, but also the people that live close to the venue, that didn't pay to go to the concert and were kept up later than they should've been by the noise. I think we all get that you don't think this was a big deal, and really this incident wasn't too awful as far as the time is concerned (let alone "mimegate"). But this is just plain stupid shit - none of it has to happen. They could follow just a couple simple rules and everything would be fine. But the key point is that the only reason any of this happens is Axl's ego.
