  1. Lol, big deal, they both are sticking around for the money. Don't let integrity get in the way of a good paycheck.

Young_Gun, why did you spell cheque as check? You going all American on us now  Or was that spellcheck's fault?

Yes... It was spellcheck's fault... yes...

    :P

Ok I'll forgive you if you buy the next round of tickets to GNR at the Myer Music Bowl for the 4 of us :headbang:

Hehehehe it's on! Front row only!

  2. I just want to be excited about GNR again, this past year its just constant let down with cancelled DVDs, average voice and zero change to the setlist. Metallica, Aerosmith..etc are still doing it. Only band thats less active is AC/DC but even then the band is well into their 60's.

I just don't get why he doesn't want to release an album.

AC/DC have put out over 15 records in their whole career though! That is the difference between Axl and them. Sure most of their music sounds the same but their fans love it. It would not surprise me if we got a new AC/DC record before a new Guns record.

  3. And how exactly would Axl be succeeding in rebuilding his public image by just endlessly touring the same show to the same group of fans year in, year out? The best and probably only way to redeem his public image would be to put out a new record which kicked ass and actually made some sort of commercial impact outside of the hardcore fanbase.

The current public perception of Axl Rose is that he is an arrogant hasbeen. That's the truth, you only have to read the comments on sites like ultimate-guitar.com or other rock music websites whenever they report a news story about GNR. No-one has a kind word to say about Axl, most people think he's a complete prick for what he's done to this band. It's us fans who have been giving him the benefit of the doubt and second, third and fourth chances to prove himself as worthy of single-handedly leading Guns N Roses into a new era of greatness. But as time goes on, even the hardcores are starting to see where the fault really lies in the mess that is NuGNR 2001-2014.

I think he lost heart when Robin quit and hasn't given a toss since. He knew the band that made the album he had been labouring over for a decade had all slowly turned their backs on him, tired of his endless procrastinating.

That's when he hired DJ and thought "fuck it, lets just tour forever."

    This.... Just... This...

  4. It's sad to see what this man did with what could have been his life, after so legitimate success in the 90s. The disease overtook him, and it is unfortunate. The band of the 2000s had all conditions to develop a super job and continue the legacy of success that the group had in the past. But of course, the guy blew it. The version of GNR who played in WMA 2002 was wonderful. A person having musicians like Abruzzsse, Freese, Buckethead, Brain and lose them all ... what about that?

I'm done. I made the best choice canceling my trip to Brasilia. More of the same is no longer enough for me. I'm tired. Really. Better, much better, is going to LOLapalooza in São Paulo, and watch Soundgarden and NIN.

The guys should at least be ashamed of doing the same show for so long. So bands like Metallica and NIN deserve more consideration. Present new material, and appreciate the fans.

Could not agree more. This current line up is a parody. I used to be down about Bucket and Robin leaving because I love what they brought to the table but now I realize that leaving was the only choice for them as Axl cannot lead a band to save his life. It is a fucken trainwreck of monumental proportion.

Haha I love the "Defenders of the Faith" Why do some people even bother defending this shit show. They are a joke. It's beyond pathetic. They don't even remotely try to etch out their own legacy they simply live off the past, a past all but one of them had absolutely NOTHING to do with. LEECHING is what they are doing.

What are you talking about? Guys like Dizzy, Frank and Pitman could leave at anytime and play at... the local pub... On Thursdays... :P

  5. They are for me. Can't even pull off the simplest of tasks like playing a new song after it was said they were going to.

Major, major overreaction. Yes it would have been ideal for them to play an interesting set straight away, but we're one show in.

Yeh, because you are the epitome of truth these days now aren't you...

I am quite confident we WON'T hear any new material from this tour. No Going Down, no General, nothing unheard from Guns N' Roses. Maybe a new UYI song at best.

  6. I follow the "fool me once" principal while a lot of people here are on their 9 millionth time of being fooled and still blame the band. That is what is truly hilarious about this situation.

So we can't have an opinion on the band? Yeah... logical... The thread is about whether or not the band is a joke, not whether we are disappointed by recent happenings(or non-happenings). READ.

  7. They are for me. Can't even pull off the simplest of tasks like playing a new song after it was said they were going to. Oh, did Slash put a stop to that one too?? Can't even train vocals for a tour. Axl is nothing without the old guys. I love Chinese Democracy and the music Axl makes, but the last 15 years have proven that he can't handle running Guns on his lonesome.

  8. You guys didn't seriously believe the 'band' were going to play anything new did you? Hasn't the last 6 years taught you anything? Now we are hearing "Oh they are saving it for the US market".... Please. The South American fans would be much more receptive to new material compared to the US market. No new songs will be played. Just another nostalgia tour.
