  1. Some of these insider-confirmed scenarios are very hard to believe.

Ron played in guns for years and years with minimal artistic contribution, and then left on the stroke of the last bankable paycheck nuguns would ever generate. There's absolutely no integrity in his actions - just good business sense.

DJ would've been ditched the second a reunion was inked, whether he 'stepped aside' or not. He was likely given the option to publicly stand down by Axl/TB, and was probably given a time frame in which to do it. I'll say again what I said back then - who the hell in their right mind voluntarily quits guns n roses for Sixx:am?

The fact that he's implying that he 'let' the reunion happen just reinforces what a deluded weasel he is.

  2. I think we can agree that pitman is in the lineup in order to validate Axl's 'vision' in some way. And if the 'partnership & employees' story for cochella is to be believed, pitman would be a VERY inexpensive crutch for Axl's ego by any standard. Pay the guy 3000 bucks a show to twiddle on some unplugged synths, and then go collect an 8 million dollar payday. It's just good business sense to include him if it ensures Axl is cool to sing.

  3. What the fuck is everyone's problem and all this shit about promotion and whatnot?

First off, nothing else has been announced in terms of dates and everything. Coachella is going to sell out regardless and it's going to get a lot more coverage whenever the shows come around.

If/when am actual tour is announced, I'm fairly certain there will be plenty of promotion for the band and tour, and by then we'll likely know who is touring for sure (even though Slash and Duff should be enough for people to not complain, but oh well).

Nothing has been handled poorly. Coachella announced their stuff last night and GnR, Slash and Duff all posted the corresponding pictures to go along with it and it's been made more than obvious who the main members in the band are - the ones people have been clamoring to have back for years.

But it seems the only people not clamouring are Axl, Slash & Duff. One grudging tweet from the first, and not a word from the others. Imagine - just imagine - if Axl were to say something like "I'm thrilled to have slash back in gnr, he was integral to the band's sound". Or if slash said "Amazing to be back in guns with one of the best frontmen of all time".

Reposting the cochella line-up like it's no big deal is about as understated as it gets.

  4. We have known if Coachella for a couple weeks. When is the real info coming?

This roll out has been a fucking joke. A shared Coachella pic? Give me a fucking break. Should have hired Gibbo27 to make a badass trailer announcing the reunion. Would be much better than this horse shit.

Agree. There's a real reticence to the announcement and to the way Axl's approaching it that says one thing - money. I seriously doubt if fences have really been mended in any lasting way. At this stage the reunion certainly doesn't feel as though it's built to last.
  5. The way in which the news broke was a mess for sure. The news itself is fantastic tho.

My biggest concern is that it looks like slash and duff will have to kowtow to the management decisions made by beta and Fernando, and so by implication can be held to ransom by Axl's mood swings. It's like 1992 all over again.

  6. The buzz is muted because they managed to fuck up the announcement. Unbelievable I know, given their professional track record.

If Axl had gone on to Kimmel, things would have occurred with much more fanfare. Instead, the biggest and potentially most lucrative rock n roll reunion of the last 20 years was broken in the middle of the night on a ghost-town forum by the lead-singer's housekeeper's son. I shit you not.
