  1. After sobering up I considered that Slash is refering to them both signing off on each others projects, not really had a conversation. The source is shady, its in some weird viking language and probably. Out of context again. And suddenly Axl is great again?

I think they should do it even if they hate each other. Think of the money!

The Swedish part just makes it all seem more legit to my fevered mind. They're trying to trickle out this idea that fences have been mended. Where better to do that than in fucking northern Sweden in the dead of night? Who the hell would pick up on that? It's like something a Bond villain would come up with. Or Axl, who pretty much is one these days.

What they didn't count on was the rabid fanbase guns still has. There's no whispering news like this. And those are the same rabid fans that'll fill stadiums all over the world if they follow through.

  2. I guess the online community is primed to feel very strongly about censorship.

To the average longtime poster mygnr's independence is more important than the site's relationship with management. At the first sign of apparent pandering, expect a backlash.

I think the mods are in a difficult situation. If there is even the slightest perception that they're trying in ingratiate themselves with Axl's inner circle, their position becomes untenable.

It's difficult. And the truth is that it's all down to the world guns has built - no news, insiders, and party passes for ass lickers.

  3. "You are not entitled to your own facts"

    "Find somewhere else to post"

These two remarks, both in this thread, could've come straight from the two shittest gnr sites out there (we know which ones).

The way things went down in the Fernando thread is a real concern. The Canter point is well made.

If Fernando comes to mygnr and the majority of people post insults or generally disrespectful bullshit in his thread, that would be because the majority of people don't respect him.

The thread should be left alone. People visit mygnr because they are fans of guns. The fans posted shit in his thread because they don't like what guns has become. Why sugarcoat it for their fucking manager?

  4. Fernando, I understand why you prefer to post at HTGTH. Some of the personal shit that's said round here is over the line.

But can you see why this forum is so much more popular than HTGTH? Because it's a forum to vent. That fact alone tells you how most guns fans feel about the band.

  5. If they reunite I'll eat my own arse with a teaspoon.

It's a matter of time... Marc Canter and Eddie Trunk think it's possible, and they both know the guys involved very well. So... you never know.

As far as what's GNR and what's not, Axl and Slash are the most important members, without one of them there's no GNR.

This is why I now despise Trunk.

Kissing Axl's ass on-air once every 3-4 years does not constitute 'knowing him well'. For that you need to kiss his ass every day (^^).
  6. I dunno. This is a pretty humiliating exit for a guy who said he had penned 12 songs for Axl to work on. Remember all that 'I'm a writer and also a producer' bullshit?

If a reunion was on the cards, Ashba would hang on until he was pushed. He'd know that nothing's for certain with Axl until a deal is inked, so why leave prematurely? Who the fuck voluntarily leaves guns n roses for Sixx am?? I think he knows the gravy train's finally run out of rail.

  7. Jesus, can we please stop feeding the fountain of all 'facts'. Those idiots have done this approach to death.

Harping on about how guns n roses exists today as a legal entity means next to fuck all. Most people prefer classic guns, mainly because they made more and better music. So, to many people that band will always be guns n roses - much more so than the current guns n roses.

It's also pretty interesting that, from your viewpoint, most of the songs you rock out to at a guns show are in fact no longer 'guns n roses' songs.
