Seems everyone defends Oh My God saying its just a demo, But werent all of those leaks around 05 or whatever passed off as demos? Then finally cd dropped a few years later and all we got were the same Axl vocals, Mostly same guitars with some additions and changes here and there and a pile of synth/ effects over them?
Why on earth would a muti platinum act authorise a demo to be put on a soundtrack? I say it didn't get the reaction they hoped for so (same as the cd leaks) so they called it a demo.

I remember in about 96 finding parts 1 and 2 at various used video shops... part 3 was really hard to find....think i found it around 98

Izzy should write and record some songs with the new band for the next record. and leave it at that. Funnily enough my favourite song on slashes first solo record was the one izzy co-wrote.

After i saw this post i decided to give CD a spin to see how i felt about it, Its been 6 months or so...
CD is not a classic album, not by far.
I listen to old gnr weekly..... almost forgot that CD existed.... So...
great at the time (2008) but nothing that will count in years to come.

Axl has a degeneritive condition, Parkinsons... He will never admit it.. . he should.... He spent many years trying to fix it and the modern drugs do the trick for him, however it is just a short term solution. Poor guy.

So far 67,558 people have voted on this poll on TMZ, and 3/4 actually say that the real GNR is Slash's band that played at the induction ceremony. TMZ is not really biased towards Slash or anything and yet most people don't think that the band Axl tours with is "real Guns N' Roses".

. The question in the TMZ poll is: "Who deserves the Guns N' Roses name, Axl or Slash?". It is not a poll about what band of musicians comprise "Guns N' Roses". I believe lots of people who think that Slash deserves the name also realize that Axl's got it.yeah, that's even worse if you think about it. Axl has the name and according to the public opinion he doesn't deserve it.
I prefer people to not be ignorant about the fact that Axl holds the name. I also appreciate Axl being an underdog having to prove that his decision to continue with the name, was a good move.
People seem to forget that Slash quit guns, Duff quit guns, Izzy quit guns, All at different times (years apart) The band never actually broke up. why would he not continue with the name.
Dave Mustaine is a similar story with megadeth accept he is much more dedicated to the fans and his band than Axl seeing as Mustaine continually released albums while musicians were fired/quit.
duff, slash, and matt quit/got fired pretty much around the same time. I mean duff and matt left later on, but its not like anything was going on between the time slash left and the time they left. they just sorta sat around at home until they finally felt like moving on. he was basically alone at that point.
I see your point, But focusing on the original members whose names appeared on the original contracts when they got signed, 3 quit and 1 got fired so mathematically that just leaves Mr Rose. Im not defending him using the name and i don't nescassarily agree with what he has done with it since then but its just that regardless of who is in GnR now, there was so much time in between the end and the new beginning that i guess the general public thought they had actually broken up.

To be honest, Once i heard slash,duff and steven playing sweet child, It reminded me of the ritz 88 version musically. Nobody can play that song like the originals, Axl should have just rocked up did the songs and split. what would have been so negative about that? He wouldn't have even had to have spoken to slash if he didn't want to, just shut up and sing. He never used to rehearse with the band anyway, can't see why he would start now...

Honestly, if I were the guys I would leave Axl at his table, get up there and have a great time. Let the whole world see who the problem is (not that everyone doesn't already know) but they should just do it. Let Axl sit there with his lap dog DJ telling him he's the shit.
Then let the camera sit there infront of Axl being a petty dick, refusing to get up there with a little sour face. Shame him, if he's going to be such a brat about the whole thing.
FFS the guy has been handed a lifetime of doing nothing but whatever he wants to do and he can't even get up and play afew songs. Pathetic.

I remember specifically buying End Of Days just to hear Oh My God, At the time i was a starved GnR nut hoping for "classic GnR"
Honestly, I hated it... I gave it another listen a few years later and it grew on me...now i like it alot

I hope they do it the right way, IMO nobody but the original 5 deserve to be up there, Acknowledgements to Matt, Gilby and Dizzy and leave it at that..
It will be entirely focused on AFD, LIES and UYI, I can not imagine the induction including all current and former members, Why should it?
I like the new band, I like the former members of the new band, I like the old band, But seriously What are we celebrating? 25 years since AFD!
I think the running list of current and former members must top at least 30 musicians who id prefer not to see crowding the stage...
Axl, Slash, Duff, Izzy and Steven... Thats who it is for...

I think its cool that alot of the fans back in the say 88 to 93 who were around 15 to 20 odd probably all have kids now they can take to the gigs.

I really have no interest in hearing it, AFD is a classic album, so why re-record it?
Example:
Its would be like Ringo and Paul re-recording The white album, Its just wrong! Leave it the way it was intended to be heard!
I dont want my daughter growing up listening to a horrid , cut and paste copy of AFD thats doesn't even have the musicians who WROTE it playing on it.

As ive stated before, CD just sounds too copy and paste.
Real bands crank out music and jam to record.
This album is 10 years worth of samples, all edited together in pro tools to sound like the mess it became.
Put the original GnR in a room and you would get one classic fucking album, probably in less than a week.

This site is more on Axl and nuGNR's haters. It is also a site where you can find lots of Slash news and promotions. No wonder current GNR won't support it.

Nobody spends years making demos, thats just bullshit.... It was Axl testing the water, CD would have come alot sooner if this song was well recieved back in 99.
