Pretty interesting. I doubt the leaks influenced anything to do with what was officially released. What did we get?  Hardskool and absurd.

If they were more focused on releasing stuff that leaked we would have official versions of atlas shrugged or state of grace, not the general and monsters.

I never liked him in GnR.

I think Kurt had already refused to open for them at Axls request and had said a few negative things in the press about GnR so he took Courtneys jab at  him pretty hard.

Axl may clarify some things that he views differently now than he did 30 years ago. 

I mean, I’m 42 now and cringe when I think about some shit I did 20 years ago. Best forgotten… lol

slash and Axl had a lot of outsiders and yes men in their ears back then, that combined with alcohol and drugs was always a recipe for disaster. But with age comes wisdom. I’d assume there were a lot of misunderstandings back in the early 90s related to how the breakup went down and it took the pair of them to be sober and honest to see each others point of view and his book may reflect that.

Personally if I was Axl I would be mortified at writing my own biography. 
He would have to address so much pompous bullshit he did in the 90s.

Always liked the YCBM full version with the Ahnold scene at the end.  
I was never a fan of the trilogy vids, even back then they always seemed so pompous and out of character for this band.

This may be before Axl did all of that past regression therapy, at this point he may not have remembered a lot of childhood stuff.  

I think it fucked his vocals more. He tried too hard to impress Angus. He was going ok in GnR but after his stint in AC/DC he wasn’t the same.

Axl wearing bike shorts and being a total diva kinda fucked them up, they were an easy target with the grunge crowd. I doubt they would have lasted the late 90s if they’d stuck together.

As far as a new album goes, I’m wondering if they’re taking the same path as UYI and clearing the slate?

I remember an old interview where they said they recorded everything they had for UYI and put it out so that the next album of originals would be brand new stuff.  It could be the same deal here, gradually release all the old CD era stuff and then go smash out a new album of slash stuff.

Anyone notice there’s a lyrical part missing before the solo on monsters right before the guitar solo, it’s definitely on the cell phone clip.

From about 18- 30 seconds, then the solo kicks in.

id love to know what Axls singing there.  It’s got 8 more oooh ooohs and Axl saying something over it.  

I think he’s a gamer, that shit can take alot of your time when you’ve got it to spare.

if so he probably did lay down some vocals but once Brian was ok they replaced his vocal track

It would be very interesting to see if Axl can in fact “switch” his voice to full rasp properly. We’ll probably never find out unless this happens.

his voice in GnR was already faltering back then, but the second he joined AC/DC it was good old classic Axl.

I liked it back then but now I listen and think it’s a garbled overproduced embarrassing mess.

It simply isn’t a good album.

Hire Axl a vocal coach.
