That’s right - they were waiting for his sign off, which I remember seemed ridiculous at the time, but makes sense when you see that him in the video is being escorted out blind drunk by Sebastian Bach haha

I just googled it. At first TB blamed Lars then retracted it saying they were just joking and that the video would be released “soon”

The fact that Slash is back in the band alone rules out any possibility that there's any extended Buckethead on a new Guns N Roses song mate. This is full on tinfoil hat territory. Yeah it can happen, Buckethead can show up as a guest spot at the next show, that can happen too, so let's go and claim things that..can happen, I guess?

We can go around claiming there will be DJ Ashba riffs on the next song, I mean it can happen right? And at that point the forum has reached full padded cell mode instead of useful discussion. It's more useful to go with theories of something that is atleast somewhat realistic. Slash will make sure to be all over any song this band will ever release again, after being gone for some 20 years.

I didn’t “claim” anything, calm down.

  3. I have a feeling that “the general” will be released without slash or Duff on it.

if it was this huge masterpiece, with awesome guitars (cell phone clip) maybe Axl didn’t want it messed with and re-recorded. Possibly why it’s only a b-side. To keep the focus on the reunion.

he didn’t have a problem keeping brains drumming on the singles so far

Axl can only blame Axl for the downfall of NuGNR. His no show in Philly cost him the rest of the 2002 and Buckethead. He hid for 4 years, came back in 2006 and still refused to release the album. 2008 came and the record company said "FU Axl, we are releasing this album now". Axl refused to promote or support it in any way, and this caused  Finck to finally quit. Then Axl comes back in 2011 to Rock in Rio, all bloated, out of shape, and sounding like Mickey. Like he just stopped caring about everything(his look, his health, his sound, and his band), it was a wonder to me why he even bothered. What an embarrassment. His actions alone caused a disinterest in the band. Bucket, Finck, and Brain were amazing talents with so much potential and very high ceiling, all of which was derailed by Axl Rose. Their lack of success is no fault of their own. Nothing offbeat (musically speaking) about any of the original NuGNR. These guys were some of the best musicians on the planet. Axl gave up on himself and NuGNR. He sold himself (along with his early 2000's vision) out and gave into the money. Now we have a non-stop cash grab tour (2016-present) with Slash butchering perfect solos created by Robin Finck. Casuals can pay big bucks to see sloppy Axl Rose and washed up Slash play the oldies over and over all they want. I know damn sure I'm not going to.

I agree with some of your statement, but if Axl had continued without the reunion, I doubt we’d have any new music or tours, I’d say he would have called it quits and disappeared forever.

2016 was an awesome time to be a GNR fan, but it’s gradually gone downhill.

His mix, although well done, is only an approximation of a barely audible cell phone clip so the quality of the tune as of yet is one I think may be too early to determine

I’d agree, The Evader creation is his own interpretation of what it “may be like”  i doubt it is actually anything like the real song. Far from it tbh.

  6. Why on earth would they pull it from release at the last minute? This band is seriously disorganised, I remember someone from GnR said years ago that atlas was supposed to be on CD but it got switched out at the very last minute, it’s probably a similar situation, a last minute change of mind. No idea why, but hopefully it was to replace that god awful solo.

slash can do so much better

It's different. As an example, just listen to the final tone he sings. On the Village leak version it ends quickly, on the new version it is more sustained and he drops down a tone or so while holding it. Clearly different vocal takes.

That’s exactly right, it’s a different vocal take for sure, example: when Axl “behaviour”  he sings it with more of an “ah” at the end. Behaveyah.

I do think that the chorus “ you’re all alone”  is the same exact vocal take as the old version though.

The solo is a head scratcher, it's not awful or bad even... But it sounds like he literally heard the track and said press record. I might actually prefer the demo solo, but overall I thi k this version is better. Interested to see how Axl navigates the chorus, there's a lot of singing there and a lot of voices

I think robins solo is way better, slash has had years to come up with something and it seemed he just phoned it in to me.
