  1. I just don’t know…. I really like monster , in fact I’ve been cranking it on my car stereo for an hour straight as it’s the best stereo I own. Not keen at all on the general.

to my ear monster sounds like Robin playing lead, especially the solo. He was quite good at doing a kinda industrial slash thing when he wanted to.  I’m certain this is just an old version someone has leaked and the new one will have most parts replaced.

    im probably wrong…

I just called the customer service of Bravado(a division of Universal Music), I am from Austria and I placed the order at the official GN`R shop Germany.

I was told that the Vinyl is still going to be released on the 3rd of November and it will be shipped on the 2nd. She looked the order up as I told her that it was delayed via an email by the us store. She replied that she had no other information and insisted that it ll be released on the 3rd. I am confused!

There may only be an issue with the US pressing, it’s possible that some countries will still get their orders on time as I’d assume the record is being pressed in each individual country.

of course, I could be wrong but that’s my assumption.

  3. I won’t believe it until it’s playing on my speakers. It’s sad that being a guns fan is like this.

once it’s been delivered to the record pressing plant I’ll assume it’s a safe bet.

I only say this because years ago it was mentioned that they pulled a song from CD and switched it out at the final hour and literally changed it out at the Compact disc factory lol

Axl must seriously overthink things sometimes hey

Moreover, GN'R have never released an instrumental track as part of a non-archival release. Of course there's a first time for everything, but taking the information we have into account, the "instrumental" theory is just tinfoil hat territory.

As for Slash and Duff not being on it, there's no chance of that for obvious reasons - and additionally because Slash specifically talked about re-recording "epics". But there's also a less obvious reason: according to the credits, the sound recordings of the three re-worked tracks that have been released so far are owned by GN'R (which means that the re-recording was self-funded), whereas the original recordings by the NuGnR guys are probably still owned by the label. So it seems that there's been some kind of plan and effort behind these releases, even if it ultimately doesn't matter to us because it's not on the creative front.

That couldn’t possibly be accurate, even if they were re-recorded the music, the Axl vocals would be owned by the label. I’d suggest that the band purchased it all back from universal, they’ve certainly made enough $ from touring… that may also explain the endless tour and lack of new material.

    He will. On Oct 28th

How many times....Brain WHO WROTE THE FUCKING GENERAL said Axl sings on it....why would it just be an instrumental now sans his vocals? I see no sense to that, do you?

    Calm down lol

    That makes me moist.

Same here… that solo on the cell phone clip sounds killer… it would be a damn shame to have slash replace it with some uninspired garbage like perhaps imo

Or the song is B-Side quality. And the band dont want to present it as a new song.

That’s why I think it may be an untouched CD era song. If it was already complete with Bucket,Robin etc isn’t it possible that they’re just throwing it in as a b side?

on the flip side, when they released sympathy for the devil as a single, the b side was an instrumental that wasn’t even a GnR song. So maybe it’s just the instrumental from those live shows?

They COULD be holding onto it for leverage.

"I'll give you the General for the '02 VMa rehersal" etc.

But I also doubt it's in circulation.

Surely we would have gotten a snippet over the years, how long was that snippet of hardschool floating around?

those hoarders all love sharing a tiny piece to stroke their ego so if someone had it and it was a decent song, I reckon we would have something by now

(At present) YEP! So fire up those turntables!!! jukeboxes TT's! GNR saving the old Skool, never mind the hard!

Seems strange to me, no doubt someone will rip it to mp3 or throw it up on YouTube or whatever but will it not be a true  representation of the song quality wise?

  9. Wouldn’t make a difference, it’s the top hatted one and Axl that people associate with GnR. Not to mention if they did some sort of AFD reunion, Axl would really need to pull his shit together vocal wise.

personally I’d love to see it. Maybe like a 30 date run accross the USA. Do a Blu ray of it with a lot of behind the scenes stuff, then bundle it with the perfect crime doco.

slash said that the main reason he made contact with Axl pre reunion was to do with all the UYI footage, which should have been released with the box set IMO, so odds are that stuff is buried forever, I can’t imagine looking at that footage 30 years later would be easy for any of them.
