  1. Request for new forum. This section should be a sub forum for it. It can be called SoulMonster's GNR discussion and news. Whatever discussions he feels are worthy, then they can trickle down to this section.

If you have such a strong aversion to me, why don't you send me PMs instead of filling the forum with all your noise?

Did you intend this post to be 100% ironic? When you approve the discussion, I will then reply. We are too stupid to stay on topic without your guidance, man.

  2. the reason for the attitudes is simple you have a large group of the forum that wants nothing but to see the original band get back together. then at the same time you have a large group of people who like the new band and have moved on from a reunion. and these 2 sides dig at eachother constantly and there are those on both sides who do it on purpose to start shit.

Yea, that sounded objective. When what were "New-GNR" fans were disappointed with the album and became more negative in response, does that make them reunion guys or those who moved on? It's in your mind.

  3. Regrets keeping the name? Hell no. It is the only thing that is keeping the revenue generating. I guarantee his ticket sales would drop if it went from "Guns N' Roses" to the "Axl Rose Band." I guarantee it.

Of course. Case in point being Slash: he went from playing to tens of thousands to playing to a few hundred (?) after quitting GN'R and starting his "Slash Band".

See. People always complain about discussion of old members here but this is brought up out of the blue. WTF?

  4. it never bothered me i liked how gnr branched out into a different sound, thats why i love the UYI albums and CD so much there is something in there for everyone to the rockers to the ballads and everything in between

Really? What's in there for the rockers?

  5. GNR started out less contemporary. They weren't of the excess style of the hair metal scene. They were more blues based street scum.

5 years later they were the new excess. So much going on that the guitars lost their crunch. To me, it seemed like at that point they cared more about the image than just being themselves and direct. It just became a circus.

After all, what drew people into GNR was the alternative to excess, empty rock. They had the "every day cast away" persona and style. Once they started to shed that image, it was a shift that not everyone was going to follow. It was tolerable because the energy and wild sides were still there but it became the "meet the new bosses, the same as the old" story. "Party, party, party. Look at our 20 piece set-up" The public gets tired of that quick. Look at Disco and hair metal. It was cast aside for the stripped down basic grunge/punk style. The public just didn't want it and neither did some of the band. For whatever the motive was, it was the wrong choice. Music always makes that transition. It goes from basic to excess and back again. They just made the wrong choice for the music and for the public. The public took a left and GNR took a right.

There's nothing wrong with piano in rock, especially the type of heavy blues based rock that was GNR. All of the rest didn't belong, though.

The current music scene is once again commercial crap about flaunting image, rich lifestyle and pretty faces. It won't last much longer in my opinion. Axl could do himself a huge favor if he were to "progress" in the direction of shedding that style again. The public wants it and there's no one that can shove the mic up the asses of the likes of Justin Bieber better than Axl. Regardless of who is in the band, he could make himself more relevant by going back to his roots and appeal to the normal people with less flaunt and more middle finger.

  6. Sucks is too strong of a word. Sucks? No. Boring? Absolutely.

Yeah, you're right. It doesn't exactly suck. But it does suck having had to wait 15 years for an album that's just ok. :rofl-lol:

Especially when you had everyone close to the band calling it a masterpiece and saying it "rocks." It is definitely not a masterpiece and I'll take what Bach and the others say with a grain of salt from now on.

  7. Why do you believe I want people to seek approval from me? I just enjoy ridiculing stupid people.

Again, everyone else is just "stupid." Nothing you have shown proves that you aren't stupid. Other than chopping up quotes that make your posts larger than they need to be, your posts aren't special and don't show you to be the master of intellect.

You're emo over this whole thing and want to name call and/or ridicule those opinions you can't swallow. Are you seriously this weak?

  8. What are you expecting then? If you couldn't expect more, then you must have some info the rest of us aren't privy to.

Btw, IF that was a joke. It has to be the most unfunny joke I've ever seen. Being an ass and then calling it a joke is a weak cop out.

But anyways, I'll be blunt. No one cares if you approve of their reasons for being less optimistic. You're just another forum member. Regardless of how many times you throw yourself in front of the bus of criticism, you're just going to end up as flat as that "joke." You're not the special snowflake so let people feel how they want. It doesn't need your approval or for you to understand it in the slightest.

And before you try to claim again that you don't condemn people for their opinions, here is a small list of your intentions upon entering this topic:

Can't you just be happy because of all the great, timeless music the band has created?

Why do you feel the need to change someone's mind. Be happy with what you're happy with and stop trying to spoonfeed it to someone else.

Fascinating. Please tell me how there is no way you could be less satisfied about Guns N' Roses considering that you give them the lowest value on the scale.

No one owes you an explanation or needs to seek your approval.

I have to say this survey is a great way to identify those members that are either not fans of the current band at all, or those that are just too depressing and negative, to sort of round them up for a mass banning . I mean, what possible benefit could such members have to a fan forum?

Worst joke of all time that isn't even phrased as one. The benefit of a fan forum is discussion. Look what flowers and sunshine discussion did to HTGTH.

I also object to your claim that the opinion of people who consider Guns N' Roses anno 2012 as bad as it gets, "counts just as much" as mine. Why would ridiculous opinions count as much as levelled opinions? I fear you might be one of those persons who think that all opinions are equally valuable and counting.

You put yourself above people you disagree with. You are the special snowflake. Floating off into your own little bliss. You are not the elected auditor of opinions that gives you the right to say what is and isn't a valid opinion. For the record, all opinions ARE equally valuable. Who are you to say otherwise?

What you misinterpreted as a request for mass banning was nothing but a joke that went over your head.

Considering how high above everyone you consider yourself to be, apparently everything goes over our heads. But no, it didn't go over my head, it's just a weak attempt to silence those you agree with that you have now called a joke as a cop out.

So again, could anyone of you guys who have said that you are as dissatisfied as it is possible to be with Guns N' Roses in 2012, please step forward and argue for why this is as bad as it can possibly get?

No one has to seek approval from you. Period. The end. Get over it.

  9. I'm not in France. Why should I care? Does that mean there's a new album coming? Self-diluting is, in my opinion, willingly ignorant.

You are way too emotionally invested when you spend most of your time worrying about what someone else thinks that may be contrary to your way of thinking.

BTW, I haven't tried to insult you. If you feel insulted, that's just something else showing that you are being too emotional about it. You pride yourself as an obstacle to criticism and anyone outside of your paradigm. Do you even consider that you could be wrong? Absolutely not. If you consider confrontation insulting, grow up a little. It's not like I'm the one running around calling people stupid or trying to organize a mass ban. Ya know what I mean?

User 1: I'm not optimistic about the future. There's no new music to be expected, it's the same old live show and Axl sounds like crap this tour.

You: You're stupid. Educate yourself and be happy. They are playing a concert in France!

What makes you think this approach will work? Your method of just tossing out the negatives and only looking at the minuscule positives is self-diluting.

  10. It's ok. They are out there and touring. It sure beats the 1995-2000, 2003-2005 and 2008-late 2009 era when they were publicly inactive. Some people forget that. Sure, we probably aren't getting a new album this year, I'm cool with that. I've come to realize that it is only music.

Indeed. You seem to have found the right mental attitude to remain a fan of GN'R long-term ;)

Whoa, do you really let this stuff get to your head? "Right mental attitude?" It's a band and a messageboard. You take the internet way too seriously.

  11. I am sure it wouldn't seem so bleak to you if you would only educate yourself on what is actually happening.

I'm pretty sure you'd be less MAD if you didn't take anything that is contrary to your opinion as catastrophic. Here's a news flash: I doubt what anyone says here, including you, really does any sort of damage or improvement to the band. You are acting like the other side of the coin. Some may be over-critical of the direction this band tries to go while you are acting like the board's vibe sniffer.

    Chill out.

  12. Classic Rawker -

You say it's "more of my bullshit" as if I have this long history of making false claims. On the contrary, I have a long history of delivering accurate info. YOU are the one talking about the label's supposed expectations, which you claim you read online, and yet, you refuse to allow us to read it. Very strange. I on the other hand am refusing to post private correspondence, which would be against forum rules anyway.

    UcudBmine -

If I'm making a serious well thought out reply, I usually type like this. If I'm making a quick or casual reply, I often type the other way.

What does this have to do with the topic?

Anyways, if there was a war, I'm betting on the 11 foot tall karate blonde.

  13. The only moron here is you. You have no counter-arguments, so why don't you do us all a favor and go away?

Slash is an attention whore, and you can't argue it which is why you havent. Ok, like being owned still?

    Exactly bitch. shhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh

This probably isn't the best way to get your point across. LOL
