  1. Yaaaaaawwwwwn. Soul Monster disagrees with me. :sleeper:

Are you saying you actually believe Axl wasn't a founding member of GN'R? Are you saying you actually have evidence for the band not "moving forward at all" and that it is NOT just your baseless opinions? Are you saying you have some evidence for GN'R being dishonest about their shows and somehow lying about the fact that the majority of songs will be old songs catering to nostalgia among the audience? Are you saying you can actually argue for your silly claim that "Axl rarely looks happy at stage [these days]"? Or are you saying it is us the readers who should yawn over your worthless post?

I currently could not care less about them

    +1

"Couldn't care less" means that one is indifferent to the band, not the highest degree of dissatisfaction. To not care about the band and be completely indifferent to it, would be a 5.

I honestly don't think people understand this simple question and the scale.

You just can't stand that people have a different opinion than you, can you?

  2. I didn't use a fake email. Madison changed it just the same as she made it read only. Accounts required email verification and if I used that email, I never would have been able to verify it, obviously.

Also, I doubt anyone would want to access my account for those purposes after all of this time. I'm not that important.

  3. In the US the label went for the safety of the 14 mil up front, instead of potential sales, which anyway you look at it is a no brainer for any record. and especially with a record that cost them so much. So record sales don't really reflect what it could have been. Even for Axl it was probably better because putting and keeping them in the hole would maybe end his career anyway. As it is, it was a "success" in not being a monumental bomb to end all bombs. It actually sold alright even in the US.

They should really print up T-shirts: "GNR survived Chinese Democracy".

but if axl promoted the record in advance the record wouldn't have bombed

You're repeating that as a joke, right?

  4. Hi Everyone,

I've created a new group; "Returned" - in which all former banned members have been placed.

This group is a "clean slate" - with all the same privileges as members. Consider all "grudges" reset, all chances back to 0 - you're all welcome back on the same terms as everybody else. I just called it Returned because I thought it looked cool - it's not to single you guys out as a target.

This is a good-faith action, we hope that those previously banned members who wish to return feel welcome to do so.

    Cheers guys!

    :shrugs:

This is much worse and offensive imo. He's the most un-charasmatic guitarist in guns n roses with the worst tone and solo's on chinese democracy. This person has to be mentally ill or unstable. Sickening.

Obviously you know nothing about music and instrument sounds.

    Do you?

I've been playing guitar and bass for 18 years...Im pretty sure I know a thing or two. :shrugs:

I've been playing since I was 12(going on 20 years) and I still say it is all subjective and there is no "certification" on opinion. It doesn't make you or I an expert. If you truly were, you'd be producing. Just sayin.....

  6. It bores me. I can't get through a complete song on the second listening. I am sure some of it is due to listening to the live and better versions(IMO) of CD and The Blues(what the real name should be) early on. The GNR I prefer had songs that when i cranked them up as loud as it could go would give me a rush and sometimes chill bumps. This one, just no.

It's a shame to have a band that can affect you like a drug go to a band that can make you OD on boredom.

  7. VR's hit songs like Slither and Fall To Pieces got played on radio for months whereas CD's songs like Better and Chinese Democracy got airplay for maybe a week each. Chinese Democracy was a complete failure in America.

chinese democracy the album wasn't a fruitful success like the illusions cause axl didn't properly promote the record in advance. and robin wasn't around at the time either

LOL what?! Everyone and their grandmother knew of Chinese Democracy. The album promoted itself. That is until people actually heard it.

  8. lol, if we're going to talk about who brought in what or who started what, it's not going to be pretty for slash. was trying to give him as much credit as possible.

Yeah, you were being too kind.

If we really are to talk about songs Slash wrote, as in bringing in more or less completed to the band, then Coma, Bad Apples, Don't Damn Me and perhaps Civil War, Garden of Eden and Locomotive (except for the coda and except for Slash himself saying he wrote the song with Izzy), are the only ones as far as I know. That is 3 confirmed songs, possibly 6 in total. And then of course he added guitar parts and solos to many other songs.

...and Coma, Bad Apples, and Don't Damn Me are the stupidest songs that lineup ever turned out. :rofl-lol: :rofl-lol: :rofl-lol:

  9. What are you talking ablout? Izzy didn't play on all the songs on UYI. Izzy is great! But Slash made the band. FACT.

Who "made" the band would be a matter of opinion, not a matter of fact. You may be confused about the meaning of the word "fact."

Izzy may not have played on all of the UYI songs, but he wrote 12 of them, whereas Slash only wrote 9.

Slash "wrote" 9 songs? Which 9 are we talking about?

It wouldn't be the same BUT....if Izzy and Axl wrote most of the songs for a new album? It would still be pretty damn good. When you listen to some of Izzy's work over the years it's just screaming for Axl's vocals. The same for Axl's songs. Some people like the new sound but for those wanting a more classic vibe, Izzy would be more than enough to pull it off.

But it would still lack the energy. CD has hardly any. Any attempt at it is just layers and layers of layers. Izzy brings good skills but wildness, eh, it's missing.

What do you mean by "energy"? Like angry, aggressive music?

Songs with an edge. Songs like Right next door to hell that would build up and explode in your face. Or songs with a strong tone to them like Coma. CD seems to lack anything that is moving unless you're the type always looking to cry.

  11. how the fuck do you know these things?

    I call bullshit.(your reply to 1st post

I did my best to follow the Adler trial as a child

    I smell BS

Uhhhh . . . the drummer of my favorite band was suing the other members and it was a major national news story, why wouldn't I be interested in that?

Between MTV News, updates on CourtTV, as well as magazines like Metal Edge, Circus, Hit Parader, etc, it was a fascinating time in the band's history. If you weren't paying attention back then, maybe you don't realize what an incredible media circus the trial was.

An 8-10 year old caring about a trial? It reeks. Being a teen at the time, I cared about the music and raising hell. At 8-10 it was just about being a kid, not watching court tv. You must have been a very strange child.
