  1. I think it two different things maybe. Duff solo and becoming part of GNR are different deals.

Some can be reductive and just say AFD line up is the best just do that. Then reality turns up. There's two other significant eras and Duff hasnt been in Guns for 15 years? You arent really going to dance in and start calling the shots. Getting some kind of working hybrid line up would be success.

Just WTF are you talking about?

  2. But here's the problem with that simplistic explanation.

    Slash's statement = innocent statement

    BBF quitting = innocent resignation

    DJ quitting = innocent resignation

Tommy appearing to be out = innocent disappearance

Slash's brother turning a 180 on the speculation and his comments about Axl = innocent

Axl on a strict diet = innocent situation

Supposed big year for GNR in 2016 = innocent statement

Matt pleading the fifth as a joke when he could simply deny it = innocent statement

At this point, it's a little more than someone on a forum just twisting a statement to suit an "agenda."

Multiple actions AND statements are expelling smoke.

  3. Do people have a hard time believing that some Gn'R fans don't care about a reunion?

Yep. You're either a fan of the old or a fan of the new. If you're a fan of the new, it will be dissolved in a reunion. I can understand some in the general not caring but if you're a GNR fan, you're not exactly neutral.

I am fan of the old and the new, but i don't care too much about a reunion(at least with Slash). But i'll agree with some ppl, anything would be better than Bumble n Ashba.

I seriously doubt that if a reunion happens that you'll be meh about it.

  4. And then the lingering question..

Why did DJ decide to quit. Nothing is going on, right? Why quit?

Oh, and why does it appear that Tommy is out?

Not sure if you're asking me, but if you are my answer remains: I don't know.

I would assume DJ & Ron left because the immediate GN'R futre (i.e. who knows how long) doesn't include any writing credits for them. As for Tommy, my guess is everything he needs to do is done outside of touring, so if/when there's a tour, he'd be available for it.

In regards to BBF, he did state that he had recorded material for some of the rumored CD era tracks so it's possible there may be existing credits for those tracks if they were released. I can understand BBF leaving if there's no album planned and etc but DJ leaving out of the blue when supposedly "big things are about to happen for the band?" It doesn't make sense since nothing is going on right now with nugnr anyways.

There's a whole lot fo smoke coming from many different angles so something/anything must be going on.

  5. None of this is worth talking about though, since it's extremely unlikely that Izzy would refuse to take part in what would obviously be a limited amount of dates for a huge sum of money.

Gilby Clarke will not earn a cent out of any GNR reunion.

You're probably right. IIRC, Izzy is interested. I'm questioning whether he would be on board with a huge reunion tour, though. I think he would be down for an album but if he's not for another huge tour, it's still back to a touring replacement and that is all Gilby ever was and nothing makes him stand out as an option over Fortus anyways except for the nostalgia factor of a very small minority of fans.

  6. Watching Rusty annihilate his own logic to somehow argue Fortus makes sense in a GNR reunion but Gilby doesn't is really quite amusing.

    Actually he never said this.

All he's saying is both of them are equally unimportant for a reunion. But circumstances do open the door for Richard a little bit more since he's in the band for some time now and Axl trusts him.

If I had to choose one outside of Izzy it would be clearly Gilby, because to me it's more of a reunion with him. This guy played the UYI tour.

He said that Richard Fortus of all people would be the key compromise between Axl and Slash. I'm still in a state of shock over that one. Then he said Fortus is a more logical choice than Gilby for a GNR reunion tour, despite having no one to reunite with. All while saying Gilby wouldn't count due to being a "touring member" when the band was at their peak.

That's some serious mental gymnastics. Sure, we all hope that Izzy's involved if the reunion happen, but if he's not into it or whatever, Gilby's the next logical choice. You really have to bend your logic into a pretzel to say Fortus should get the nod based on anything other than "I like him!"

I didn't say that. I said that in the manner of compromise, it gives Fortus an edge over any other nugnr members when considering that Slash is fine with Fortus. AND with that, it looks like he'll be an easy part of that compromise if Izzy doesn't come back. They aren't going to go to the mat over Gilby fuckin Clarke if Axl would rather keep one of his loyal guys.

I never said that Fortus was more important in a reunion than Gilby. Neither are important. Again, I will put it as simply as I can.....

If Izzy is out, whoever replaces him is likely irrelevant to the reunion itself. Therefore, it comes down to who they can agree on. Fortus is the most logical to assume they would agree on because he is the middle ground. Because? In a compromise(which the reunion will surely be), the middle ground is important.

Like I said. I question your reading ability. Free Bird understands exactly what I'm saying.
