  1. Axl has to make a statement TODAY and release the album in March, no if's and's or but's.

You're right, it is now or never. The hype is at an all-time high, release it now or just forget about it Axl, this is it.

  2. There has been 3 leaks...............better yet, 2 and a half leaks in the past few days. I'd advise you stop listening or else you are going to spoil the album when it's released.

I think I'm going to stop eating pork so there's enough pigs around for when they learn how to fly.

    TWAT

FFS, can't you praise Bucket without bagging Slash? Idiot.

That said, the second half of that song is amazing. I'm sure it's Bucket, and it proves that he can play "emotional" music and isn't just a shredder.

The first half is only OK, imo. Not rapt with the chorus.

hey man, come down, AM JUST STATING THE TRUE FACTS HERE..... SLASH IS OWNED! BURIED ALIVE...and this is just a peak of the ice of things to come!

NOW ENJOY THE NEW ERA OF ROCK N ROLL...... BABEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE Jesus is alive and ROCKING! rock2

Too bad Buckethead is off in his basement rubbing fried chicken on his genitals while Axl is getting ready to release the album.

    TWAT

But uh.. who's gonna play it live? He's gone, and with all due respect to Mr. Robin Finck, there ain't no damn way he can pull that off.

    TWAT

The mixing on these tracks is brutal, especially T.W.A.T

Axl's voice is WAYYYY too low.

will you stop bitching about that

    Let's see... no.

    TWAT

You might as well download it, at this point the damage has been done, so whether or not Axl gets pissed and decides to never release the album has nothing to do with whether or not "The Milkman" downloads it.

  3. This sounds horrible, and I'm not talking about the music, but rather the production. Whoever mixed this must be on some good shit. Axl's voice is so fucking distorted, especially in I.R.S and T.W.A.T that you can hardly make out anything he says.

    10 years for that?

Worse than the production on the Velvet Revolver album

  4. This is all assuming (and hoping) the leaked versions are not the final ones..

IRS - I'm hopeful the drum machine will be gone by the time the song is finalized. Howard Stern was right that Axl's voice seems to be pushed back a bit, it's hard to make out a lot of the words he's saying. The mixing on both songs is really horrible, but then again it is just a demo. Also the power chords are really rather basic stuff that any band on the radio is using right now, better guitar playing could push this from an average song to a great song.

Better - Put a Sweet Child O'Mine-esque guitar riff at the beginning, not saying it has to be as good as SCOM, but a little riff there in place of the retarded ass electronic shit would be killer. Also, the riff after the intro and while Axl is singing is about as generic of guitar playing as you can possibly get. Hopefully they fix that.. Axl's voice sounds great on this track though.

  5. To the idiot that posted his garbage about the songs being crap, yea dude, you're totally stuck in the 80's. I suggest you keep listening to your old Scorpions albums if you like talking, moody guitars with 'feeling'. If you ask me, these new tunes have plenty of feeling. The songs are more layered, and you don't like that apparently. I'm sure there's a great solo in 'Better' after that little clip cuts out... but I think the guitar parts are fantastic. That beginning riff is totally Finck. That's straight out of a NIN type song... and I absolutely love it. I love the 'experimental' singing to on Axl's part. A tone and style we've NEVER heard out of him. It's great to know his voice is so adaptable... and that old Axl Rasp when the main part of the song kicks in just bends you over and screws your brains out.

I love how if you don't like the new songs, that automatically means you're "Stuck in the 80's". I mean, I guess it's impossible for anyone to just not like the songs because they aren't good, right?

IRS is just one basic power chord throughout the whole thing. If you think that is great guitar playing then you probably think those guys from Good Charlotte are great guitar players as well.

Layered.. Whaaaaaat? Who cares? The intro is layered into the verse.. well here's the problem, the intro is terrible. You say that beginning riff is "totally Finck". Well, it's also totally garbage. That is as generic as rock can possibly get, turn on your top 40 station and you can hear every damn band on the planet playing a riff like that.

  6. I think you need to put down the crack pipe.

IRS is decent at best. The guitar playing is awful, just no creativity with it at all. Lame power chords that sound like something from Nirvana. The lyrics are just all over the place, some truely brilliant lines and some lines that you'd expect to hear on a Hillary Duff song.

Better is crap. The beginning sounds like a Nine Inch Nails b-side track, and after that it kicks into one of the most generic guitar riffs I've ever heard. I think a person who's never picked up a guitar in their life could play that riff, it's awful. Axl's voice is the only thing that saves Better from being total unlistenable garbage.

This is what we waited 10 years for? This is Axl's MASTERPIECE? I appreciate him trying to "experiment" with his music, but experimenting doesn't always = greatness.

The only nu-GNR song that even holds a candle to anything the REAL GNR did is The Blues; that is a song i'd rank in my top 5 GNR songs of all time, but everything else I could do without.

  7. You're wrong. I didn't already have my mind made up..

    Really?

overproduced shit like Better that sounds like a Nine Inch Nails b-side track.

Have you even heard the whole song yet? :drevil:

    I didn't think so......

Yes, your mind is made up before even hearing the whole track. You are jumping the gun and not giving it a possibility and it is obvious.

So, on the same token, isn't everyone here jumping the gun by saying how great it is and how it's anything better than Contraband? Maybe we should just delete all the posts, so nobody can state their feelings until the entire song is released, or until Chinese Democracy comes out, or until pigs fly. Whichever comes first.

Isn't it their opinion? I agree that saying it is the greatest track ever is kind of "over the top" BUT if they like it better than any Contraband material, why can't they say it?

It looks like you are trashing it just because of...

A: It doesnt have the old members

B: They offended you with the Contraband comparisons.(understandable but doesn't justify judging the song before hearing the complete version).

We have heard Contrabands offering, but are yet to hear New GNR's offering. All you keep saying is...."You aren't Trent Reznor AXL"......"This sounds like NIN's shit flushed down the toilet".....You wont admit it, but I am positive you were waiting for songs to come just so you could compare it to old GNR. Neither VR or this new lineup are comparable to old GNR. We all know that.

No I'm trashing it because.. I don't like it.

I keep bringing up NIN because Reznor is a known influence of Axl Rose, and it's been clear the new GNR was going in a more industrial route since "Oh My God" came out. The only difference between Better and a shitty NIN song is Axl's voice.

As far as IRS, I don't like it because it's just not very good. What is appealing about this song? The only reason anyone likes it is because Axl is on it. The guitar work is boring and flat, there's no depth to this song at all. Plus, Axl's voice is way off on this song. It would probably sound a lot better if he still had his old voice, but either way it's nothing more than decent.

  8. You're wrong. I didn't already have my mind made up..

    Really?

overproduced shit like Better that sounds like a Nine Inch Nails b-side track.

Have you even heard the whole song yet? :drevil:

  9. Never said you were overreacting. I am saying you already had your mind made up and won't open it a little to simply say it is "ok". But no, you think its garbage without even hearing the whole thing.

You're wrong. I didn't already have my mind made up.. I'm fully ready to accept the new GNR if they come with good material. I rank "The Blues" up there with any GNR song ever made, but I'm not going to sit here and act like all this other garbage is good just becasue Axl is on it.

Change isn't always good. Guns N' Roses wasn't great because they spent years in the studio perfecting and tinkering constantly with some overproduced shit like Better that sounds like a Nine Inch Nails b-side track. They were great because they released a kick ass in your face album that shook up the music world.

opinion, opinion, opinion, opinion, opinion.... seems to me that you are bitter that those people find it easy to move on and like the new music without the old guys. So if YOU think it's garbage, that makes it fact eh? The majority would agree that silkworms is garbage so you get that one. Also right now, the majority would say that Better isn't garbage and that maybe your expectations and/or taste is garbage. Don't like it? Fine, don't damn those that are happy with it. Put your pisser away and let them have their parade.

It's a fact that nobody in the music world is excited about these songs except hardcore Axlites. If I'm bitter, it's because people acting like these new songs are anything better than average would be totally shitting all over the legacy of GNR. Not one of these songs except The Blues would have a chance of making AFD or UYI.

  10. If VR had released IRS everyone would say it sounds like shit. I know this because there's at least 10 songs on Contraband better than IRS, and everyone complained that Contraband sounded too "bland" and not enough like GNR.

I'm fully convinced that Axl could record himself taking a dump and some members of this forum would call it a classic song.

And don't even get me started on "Better"

Isn't it weird how Velvet Revolver sounds more like Guns N' Roses than Guns N' Roses does?

  11. Youre out of your mind dude. Dont act like a music critic cuz you obviously dont know good music when you hear it. This is 1000x better than the kiddie rock shit thats out today. It may not be as classic as old guns but it rocks todays world which is the only world that matters. prick out.
We can all tell that you had your mind made up about the song before you even heard it. The fact that you can call it horrible without even giving it any time was the dead give away. Oh, and the Slash avatar doesn't help either. LOL

Save us the time and go ahead and say...."TWAT sucks, the new band will suck live, I hate the outfit AXL is going to wear in 2 weeks, his breakfast on june 10th is gonna suck without Slash!!"

So unless I like every new song that leaks I'm not a real fan or something? Get over yourself. You're on a high because there's new material, but it's not THAT good. I'm hearing people say shit like, "BETTER IS THE BEST SONG I'VE EVER HEARD" and you tell me I'M overreacting?

I'm just giving you the facts. You can say I'm stuck in the past or whatever else you want, but the original Guns N' Roses was the greatest band of all-time, and whatever Axl and his traveling circus does now is going to be compared to it. This album has been in production for nearly 10 years now, and sorry if I expect a little more than just "decent". Of all the songs out so far you have 4 that are garbage (Better, Silkworms, Rhiad, Oh My God), 1 that is just average (Chinese Democracy), 2 that are just "good" (Madagascar and IRS) and only one that you can really say is excellent (The Blues).

Doesn't sound like the recipe for a classic album.
