As far as keeping it relevant, Axl's done more in the last 10 years to tarnish the Guns N Roses name than he has to help it.

YES he should drop it. He should just go by "Axl Rose". Mick Jagger didn't use Rolling Stones on his solo efforts, and Ozzy Osbourne didn't use Black Sabbath on his.

Let's face it, this is an Axl Rose solo project. Whether you like it or not, that's what it is. It's a group of musicians hired to play Axl's music, point blank. It's not a band, it's Axl Rose and hired musicians, and there's nothing wrong with that. But just don't tarnish the name of GNR with it.

Considering it's 4 years later and still no album, let's say the 2002 tour went off without a hitch and was hugely successful, what would have been accomplished? Clearly the album wasn't anywhere near being released, so what exactly was Axl trying to do by going out on the road like that? You have a surprise performance on MTV, go on a World Tour, and have no album to promote on it? Just seems weird to me.

I hate this. Now this will give Axl at least another 2 years of leverage to not put out the album, because people will be saying, "well you heard what he said, give it time!!"

I'm not believing shit until I'm holding CD in my hands. Axl just pops up once every few years to keep his name in the news, if the album comes out this year I'll drink my piss.
