  1. Well, we've heard The Blues, IRS, Madagascar, CD, TWAT and Better. That's six songs, so I'd say we're close to hearing half of the album, IF all of these songs are even on it. We have no idea what Axl will do with the album. Hell, he might not have any of these songs on the album for all we know.

You missed Rhiad and maybe OMG.

It's better to just forget those songs ever existed.

  2. Much like TWAT, half of it is good and half of it is shit. The 2:06 clip that leaked was great, but after that it goes downhill. Axl's voice turns to shit.. he sounds great in the first half of the song and then after the transition in the song, it starts sounding like someone trying to impersonate Axl instead of Axl actually singing.

Plus, the solo sucks because it starts building up and then just stops.

  3. To update the fans on the situation of the tour, album and leaked songs.

The leaked songs is the biggest thing, and I really can't believe he hasn't addressed this yet with any kind of statement. Despite the love the songs have received here, most radio stations across america (the DJ's and Listeners) haven't had very favorable reactions to the new songs. WAAF in Boston read tons of hate mail about the songs live on air, another staton mentioned on this board had the DJ saying he was SCARED to play IRS because so many people were pissed about the song, and here in L.A. the DJ said the song sucked and he wouldn't have played it if it wasn't GNR. Boston and L.A. - two of the biggest markets in media.. not good.

Plus, not everyone knows these are demos. When there's no real source of where the stuff came from, rumors get started.. that's why you hear all the "Supposedly so and so sent it to this radio station", moronic DJ's saying stuff like, "So here's the new GNR song, I guess their album is coming out soon", and so people hear it and think it's the new single, go tell their friends and word of mouth starts about it.

One statement from Axl can shut it all up.

  4. Some people here eat shit, and when they open their mouths their breath stinks—for example: OTHAFA. This guy goes from thread to thread bashing everything he can about the new songs, which are fucking demos by the way, and says they don’t deserve to be called an exceptional work of art and can’t understand why they have taken song long to be released. I mean here’s a guy ripping apart something that he couldn’t do to the same degree as Axl in a lifetime, and telling everyone else his opinion like it matters. Give me a break.

Well shit, that's just about the dumbest thing I've ever heard. Hey, how many people in the United States do you think could handle being President? Not many, but that doesn't stop everyone and their father from bashing the shit out of Bush.

The thing is Axl Rose has never said, or pretended, that he is trying to change the face of music. In fact, he’s even said in past interviews that people may not like his music. It’s the fan base that has hyped the record for so long and has tried to make it seem like it will “change the face of music,” not Axl. Axl is writing these songs in the best way he knows how…and he is doing it for himself.

I don't have the quote at hand but I'm pretty sure I remember reading an interview where Axl said he wanted to make the best album ever made. Either way, he's done plenty of hyping, talking about how excited people will be to hear his new stuff because it's "new" and "exciting" and he's tinkering with new things, and how some arrangements are like Queen, and how he's "saving the big guns" for later. That ALL builds hype.

Appetite For Destruction was a success because no one expected it. It came out of the blue and couldn’t be compared to anything else easily. It’s a bit like the original Star Wars—no one had any idea of what was in store for them the first time they saw the movies and were completely blown away. By the time the new Star Wars were made, everyone had their own ideas and opinions as to what should happen and what they should be like; most people were bitterly disappointed in the movies because of this. People forget though that art is created from the artist’s own perception of how things should be. Axl Rose, just like George Lucas, is creating his own art in the way he feels it should be created. Some will like it, others will not. Deal with it…but don’t stand their going on about what crap it is, because it’s not crap, it’s simply not your cup of tea.

AFD was not some overproduced garbage that took a decade to make. Axl wants perfection and nothing is ever perfect, there's not one thing on this earth that doesn't have flaws, so he has to keep going back and going back and tinkering with this and that, and now he's 10 years in and where has it gotten him? It's gotten him a beer belly, a bad facelift and a weave.

He doesn't need to come out and say "this is gonna be groundbreaking", it should be pretty well excepted that it better be some earth shattering stuff, or else why the fuck did it take so long? The only song even close to being worthy of that is The Blues.

  5. Why I chose to do it that way is that, you know, I can sit and write poetry 'til hell freezes over, and getting attached to any particular set of words... I felt that I would write to those words in a dated fashion, and we really wouldn't get the best music. "Oh My God" is a perfect example. When we finally got "Oh My God" where it needed to be, then I got the right words to it. With "Appetite," I wrote a lot of the words first, but in, like, "Oh My God," I wrote the words second, but the music was written like "Appetite." We kept developing it until it we got it right. [With] "Appetite," everything had been worked on, and worked on, and worked on. That was not the case with "Use Your Illusion."

Hmm, considering that "Oh My God" is a piece of shit, maybe he should go back to the old strategy.

I'm tired of hearing about how anyone who doesn't like the new material isn't "advanced" enough for such "complex" music, or is stuck in the 80's. That's bullshit. Let's not act like Axl Rose is curing AIDS or even inventing a new form of music here, he's just mixing in some electronic elements into rock music..

"Hello Axl, this is Trent Reznor calling from 1989. I did that on a CD called 'Pretty Hate Machine'. It doesn't take 10 fuckin' years"

The sound Axl WAS going for would have been fresh if he haden't taken so long to release it, but at this point it's nearly outdated.

  6. I'm a true fan of GNR, but not Axl Rose's traveling circus.

That's fine and I respect that. But I need to ask,why are you here?

I still like Axl Rose, and I still like GNR (the original). Even though I'm not thrilled with the new songs I'm still curious to hear them and see what others think.

  7. Another retarded response. Just because Axl pisses you off by not releasing it, he has to blame himself? Lmfao. Quit being a fucking idiot and get with the program. Axl flat out said that he is making this album for himself, therefore, he'll release it when he wants to. He's not going to be threatened by pressures from you whiny tards claiming you've waited for this album everyday for 10 years. For shit sakes. You haven't waited 10 years for this album and no other idiot on this board has either. I know people anticipate this album, as I do too, but I haven't been losing sleep at night thinking, "Shit, it's almost been 10 fucking years. Axl release it or else you must blame yourself." Please. If you've been waiting for this supposed decade, you need some serious help, a hobby, or an institution they call school. Axl's not going to revolve the CDs release around you. Get that through your thick head.

What the fuck are you babbling on about? And why are you putting words in my mouth? I never said the CD's revolves around me or anyone else, I never said me or anyone else stays awake at night thinking about it, but to try to deny that tons people have been anticipating this album for the better part of the last 10 years is fucking stupid. Shit, look at this forum. There's a 20 page thread when Axl is spotted at a resturant.

Axl has only himself to blame because, as I guess I'll have to explain again since reading obviously isn't your strongest quality.. that's how the music industry works, shit gets leaked. Everytime a band puts an album out the songs get leaked weeks ahead of time. Axl cannot expect to just sit there and take his merry time with the album and not have songs get out in a 10 year period, it's impossible.

  8. Don't feel sorry for him. He's had 10 years to release this shit. He has nobody to blame but himself.

Wow, this is a pretty retarded response. Axl's going to blame himself for other people leaking demos of unfinished songs from an album that doesn't have a release date yet? Yeah, that makes perfect sense you dumbfuck.

Maybe if he leaked the entire album on the internet and they weren't demos, I would see your point. But, that was the most retarded response I've ever seen.

    Anger management anyone?

Yes he should blame himself. The general public has given him a 10 year head start to finish this fucking album and he still hasn't delivered. At some point the songs are going to get leaked, that's what happens in music.. it's almost impossible to keep things secretive, and I can understand the argument for a band that regularly puts out albums to be mad about leaks, but this fucker had 10 years of secrecy and at some point it's going to blow up in your face. It's like a Christmas gift that someone tells you about but doesn't let you have it, and continually dangles it on front of your head for 10 years.

And a certain group of people need to stop sucking Slash's cock. if your a "true" GN'R fan you'll support the new band too.

P.S. You have some skeet in your eye

I'm a true fan of GNR, but not Axl Rose's traveling circus.

    P.S. lick it off sweetie.
