Maybe Earl Was the reason The CDs been delayed!! Too much rap influence!!
Axl realised this and decided to hurl his black person ass out of there!!
No...not possible...don't worry...Earl now can't stand rap after so long years being on stage with Axl
...maybe Earl was too much close to Axl and he sometimes "advised" him too much and Axl did take this like an total assault on him...you know
...but the other story is more convicinig to me...of sharing the same girls together...and maybe Axl didn't like that after some time anymore
If the last thing you said is true, it's really disgusting to learn that Axl or Earl are assholes enough to share woman. In what century or movie or sect do they live in?
If what you said is true, i'd change my opinion on the man who wrote his heart and soul in Estranged and NR..

Heu? What does "slut" means?
-
I suspect a couple of things are motivating him.
Here are my top 5 reasons why Slash is "promoting the release":
1. Closure. Guns N' Roses was his life and since he left, CD has yet to be released. Now that it's close, he's excited to hear the results. (He needs it to be out there.)
2. 2007. 20 year anniversary of Appetite. He'd like to cash-in with a reunion tour and never have to think about money again. CD is an impediment. Release of CD gives him the opportunity to congratulate Axl and begin a new and constructive dialogue. (He benefits from having CD out there.)
3. Detox. He's probably not as loaded as he once was (dope and anger). He probably can't remember the stuff that made him angry. He's had a measure of success with Velvet Revolver (plus he's got a family) and now feels comfortable enough to just be supportive. The venom is gone. I think VR helped that. (He's decided to support his old buddy.)
4. Genuine interest. He sees this as strictly the work of Axl and wants to hear the product. Artists like to hear other artist's work. This piece has particular meaning to him and he's not hiding it. (He wants to hear it as much as we do. It's well beyond rivalry at this point.)
5. Favor. Maybe Slash has been told that Axl is afraid of his criticism. By repeatedly loosening his attitude, maybe it's intended to make Axl feel comfortable enough to release it. Maybe Slash is being paid by Axl's label to say these things. Maybe his lawyers and/or management have advised him to repeatedly speak kindly. (It helps someone's cause somehow.)
Who knows.
My opinion: No conversation between Slash and Axl will happen before the release——no matter what Slash says.
Your points 3 and 4 are mine too, especially the 3rd one. Seing life clearly allows people to see others clearly.
"support his old buddy" : and admit that this special buddy has known how to make him play the best he's ever played. And allow him to do so due to the wide range of music they played together, they didn't stick to only one music style. (thing that has happened in Contraband to the excedption of a few cooler songs)

This thread will make the AFD era fans put a shotgun in their mouth.
That being said, several strong piano ballads like Estranged/November Rain/The Blues would be awesome, but I hope they don't become the focus of CD which would be too close to the style of Queen. As long as Axl stays with the program and keeps CD an eclectic but tightly focused group of songs fully exploring the capability of his band, he should be able to deliver an awesome album.
Well said.
Thanks Sly, I put down the shotgun
mr.Q
My intention with this thread wasn't to get anyone killed or hurt, maybe I didn't say it well, but I'm a huge fan of AFD, no doubt, but I really liked also these ballads that came both on lies (although Patience is full guitar) and UYI. that's only what I meant and recognising to Axl Rose his great talent I simply hope there will be some more of these on the new CD to come.
Really... drop the gun for good!

Less Slash
in 2006
I wish all of the reunion people would stop throwing around rumors about the Illusion Era/Original lineup getting back together. Just because Axl talks cordially about Slash, says he talked to Izzy a little while ago, and Slash talks about when CD might be coming out, adds up to nothing more than guys acting civilized.
Axl hasn't worked with the new guys for the last 10 years just to drop everything to get back together with the old guys. They all clearly have different musical ideas and directions, and Axl is a VERY loyal guy to those that stick by him. He won't just slap Finck, Fortus, Tommy and Brain across the face and tell them 'thanks for all of the help, but see ya.'
It's just not realistic. VR has a new album coming out soon... looks like GNR might have CD coming out soon... and that is that. One off reunion? Maybe. But I think they all would agree that might jeopardize their current projects, GNR & VR, respectively.
So don't hold your breath... and please... instead of making new threads to talk about the same thing for some attention, stop doing it! Seems like 10 threads are all about Slash talking about CD and some sort of reunion. Pick one and post in it, don't make more.
Cripes.
Would anyone be as anxious to hear Libertad or CD after a reunion? No.
Please, add that this is just your opinion...
I, for one, would like to in respect of the work done by all the musicians involved.

Quoting Sixtus
yeah, im absolutely with you, my dream would be "its allright" and "dust in the wind" in long versions, also
with guitar solos and so on. stuff like that...and i can't wait to hear the studio version of "the blues".
Although both songs are not from Axl Rose, I would like to hear longer version of both too.
yeah but axl decided to play both songs..and his voice and the piano..thats what made them more than special..although the lyrics are great...
Beyond a shadow of a doubt, Axl always improves a song he covers...
-
I think Axl loves piano balads. When you take a look at his fav band....Queen...You can hear alot of them.
I think the album will contain some classic good balads. And some new experimental stuff. But I don't think he will leave the album with no piano tunes.
I hope so.
I never really thought on what to expect from CD but something tells me it's going to great. Axl said things could sound like Queen, and it's a band that has left a tremendous gap in music industry in my opinion so I think I'll like.

as long as there are awesome guitar solos in the songs i'll be extremely happy
I don't ask that much, I know it's not going to be the same anymore!

Hi you all!
I was listening to the piano version of November Rain and I was thinking I hope Axl Rose gives us some more beautiful piano ballads, it doesn't have to be like NR or Estranged, but I like the way he plays the piano. I downloaded a lot of pre-NR part of shows and just adore it. (On the other hand I don't know if he can do less than these songs since he's so talented !!)
I used to like rock, hard rock and all but getting old I'm delighted with these beautiful parts he plays live.
Don't get me wrong, I'll still love the rocker songs but sometimes some cooler songs would great.. In the new songs, The blues has this wonderful touch, I just hope there will be more on CD.
Anyone with me?
-
Sometimes I realize he's really handsome .
I had never really paid attention to this fact.
-
Maybe Axl was sick and tired to speak to someone he could never see the face of!
-
Sure lots of people know about CD and Axl. There was that huge article in the NYT which was passed along to other magazines as well. I know people who are not into music at all and have still heard about the album Axl's been working on for over a decade.
As for Slash, your friend may be a U2 fan, but not a music fan. If he had any knowledge about what's going on today he would have heard something about VR, who toured all over the world for 18 months, did loads of interviews, appeared on many talk shows and award shows and won a grammy. Has he been living under a rock, or maybe just blinded by Bono's aura...
What you say is about what I thought myself! Bec. indeed he's really under the spell of Bono!
For the NYT thing, he sure didn't learned it from there because we're in Spain so I'm not sure he could have had access to it here.

Hi people!
The other day I was talking with a colleague at work and he is a huge U2 fan, since I'm not I dragged the conversation to my bands and of course GNR.
The funny thing is that I was saying that maybe one day we would see CD my colleague seemed to know about it and said he was waiting too, now his comment that made me laugh: "But on the other we don't know anything about Slash anymore... what's with him? he no longer plays?"
It made me laugh because Slash actually did a lot with the snakepits and now with VR and my colleague didn't know anything about it but he knew about Axl and CD, and the irony is that Axl is the one no one knows about.
I asked him if he knew Duff and Matt, he said no, he just remembered Izzy and Steven. That's weird how people remember different people or moments of GNR life.
It's no big deal but it just made me laugh.
Mods... I really didn't know where to post this, feel free to move it or anything.

Why do you guys gotta turn this into "well this doesnt prove chinese democracy is coming" or "this aint news". Its like no shit. We know that Axl buying a car aint gonna give us CD but this is just a sighting of Axl, it aint news. Its just something people might of taken an interest in. Dont turn it into a thread about how CD aint coming yet, believe me, we know. We dont need to be reminded in every god damn thread.
I share your view but I just took it as if people in their posts were only joking, noting more. But of course, I maybe wrong.

Child in Time!!!!
Man that is one of the greatest song EVER.
John Lord and Ritchie Blackmore, greatest musical duo ever.
The Purps fucking rock!
<{POST_SNAPBACK}>
This is all true.
My Dad absolutely loved 'em back in the day. Has all of their records, and used to play them very often and very loud when I was a kid. I consider myself very lucky to have grown up with such a healthy diet of quality rock n' roll.
<{POST_SNAPBACK}>
Same here, I have the best brother ever....
-
Highway Star all in.
although it's a close one with smoke on tha water, burn and child in time stalking very closely.
I think deep purple is one of the supergreatest rockbands ever.
that means greater than led zeppelin.
in the last years their albums cannot match the ones from the good ol days.
Is there any purplers out there?
<{POST_SNAPBACK}>
Yes!
This is the band I first listened to ever. I was about 5 or 7 and I wanted to do as my brother, you know, putting the headphones on my head and theses things..and Child in Time was playing...well, I'm in love since then.
EDIT: besides Child in Time my favorite is Strange Kind of Woman.
