  1. I know its not about this, but one day I was listening and thought of the story of Judas betraying Jesus

"I told you when i found you, if there were doubts you should be careful, but unafraid"

"I wont ask of you, what I would not do"

"Up and away is what ive gotta do"

    etc etc

But i'd say not selling out is the main point

Wow, I thought the same thing. I listen to CD a lot when I'm walking and I walk a lot. Over time, it seemed to me to be a conversation between Judas and Jesus.

    For example:

    Jesus:

    It's not a question of

    Whether my heart is true

    Streamlined

    I had to pull thought

    Look for a new

    Beginning on you

Oh I got a message for you

    Up and away

    It's what I gotta do

    Forgive what you have

    For what you might lose.

    Judas response:

    What would you say

If I told you that I'm to blame

    And what would you do

If I had to deny your name

Where would you go if I told you

I love you and then walked away

N' who should I turn to

    If not for the ones

    You would not save

I can't believe anyone else tied that to Judas.

  2. i think this whole topic pretty much summarizes how pathetic this website has been for the last 4 years.

You have come back to something you considered pathetic for four whole years?

You are always welcome to start your own super, fantabulous website.

  3. Jesus.

    SHUT THE FUCK UP.

    Thank you.

Not to get into that whole religion thing and all but you really shouldn't tell Jesus to shut the fuck up.

At least he was polite about it.

Back on topic, what makes so many think that those who attended these gigs were not fans? I suspect they were fans.

  4. I'm having a hard time hiding my excitement, lol

Same here. I act like a child with a new toy all the time lately. I look pathetic following forum updates but fuck it! I'm excited to see how much ass they're kicking and to remember that I'm gonna see them live in less than a month!

Yeah, I feel the same way. I'm this big boss at work and all my techy guys laugh their asses off that I'm checking a GnR board, and that I actually went to their concert (I'm usually seen as a very conservative and reserved person).

You'll have an awesome time at the concert and I can't wait to hear how it was for you.

Axl has more than delivered so far but I feel the rest of the band need to catch up.

I want to hear stories about Frank and Bumble spending hours in some European strip club.

I want to hear about DJ shagging someones mother backstage.

I'm someone's mother! I'll do it! Again, always willing to take one for the team.

  5. Definitely, they like to cover story where shirts are involved!

I was always amaze that some people like to watch that kind of show.

Actually the guy doing the voiceovers does say some pretty funny stuff, but you have to go into it knowing the show is bullshit.

I didn't see it, but to cover a rock band that sweats in a hot venue? I can hear the whole audience go 'duh'.

  6. So...are the Chicago Bulls not the Chicago Bulls anymore because they don't have Jordan or Rodman? Exactly.

You might not like the lineup and that's fine, but saying "it's not Guns N' Roses" when the album cover clearly says "GUNS N' ROSES - Chinese Democracy" is just outright ridiculous.

When I say it's not Guns N Roses, I mean that in a conceptual sense. Its not meant that literally it isn't GNR. Of course its GNR, that's the name they technically carry, but save for Axl, who are any of the other people? Just like the Bulls, who were a force in the 90's, then people retired and/or left for other teams, and the Bulls weren't really the "Bulls" anymore. In name yes, but all that magic was gone and it was never the same after that (and still isn't). Sometimes when you set the bar that high there's nowhere to go but down. Axl had the ability to change the name and literally go in another direction, but he didn't. What's in a name? What can be interpreted from a name? A LOT!

If he chose another name, I would be much, much more supportive of the entire band, but when I see that circus on stage and what's (not) happened since '94, it's a disgrace to the GNR legacy. A new name would've signaled a fresh start, but instead it appeared to everyone that he was trying to resurrect something so special with a bunch of hired musicians.

I'm really surprised that you went to a concert and still felt it was 'that circus on stage' and not a cohesive band able to support the GnR legacy. I came away more supportive of GnR than ever.

  7. This is Guns N' Roses. Anyone who doesn't see or understands that really needs to leave because they are holding those of us with brains and common sense back.

The great thing about the Internet and forums is that anyone can join the debate, and hopefully just provide support for their positions. But don't leave. The community gets boring when people leave it. I think brains and common sense can survive a difference in viewpoints. Don't you?

  8. This is an incarnation of GnR, a great version but now i view GnR like Windows, no one package is the product but an evolution of it.

I agree with this. But it is GnR and continues to be GnR, because GnR, for most of its 25 years, has been an band whose sound has evolved. Those who stayed at one sound, broke off and continued with that sound elsewhere. Others came in that aligned with where the sound was at that point in time.

There is absolutely nothing wrong with this. The Slash time was fun, the DJ time is fun. I don't lose.

  9. i'm tired of surprise gigs. the fans get left out. they are not streamed on the internet. they are not on tv on mtv to enjoy. what do they accomplish? will they get the chinese democracy record to #1 on the billboard charts? will they produce a new gnr music video for us to enjoy this year on mtv and fuse? will they actually produce a single that has success on radio and singles charts? will they get gnr to do events again like mtv vma/ama and new events like the grammys / olympics? what's the purpose and point of surprise gigs? i'm even questioning the purpose of the world tour. i don't see change. obama makes change. i don't see axl making change for the fans starving for guns n roses change with the chinese democracy record

I don't understand what it is you think is lacking? I've enjoyed a great CD and a great concert this year. Axl has communicated with fans on Twitter, the band is pretty active. They don't have any concerts scheduled right now so instead of sitting on their butts, they keep it going with a few surprise gigs. Actually there's been one, with lots of press and pictures, and you're tired of them already.

What has he not done for you? You can't accept that GnR is progressing until they reach #1? Do you work for his record company?

    I don't get it.

  10. Jesus, how the hell does anyone know that Axl had anything to do with Madison losing her mod rights? Eric hasn't commented on this matter, so how can you say for certain this is what happened. Get a grip and get all the facts before you jump to conclusions.

    Ali

I was thinking the same thing. Sure Axl vented, but try to see it from his perspective. This wierd rumour just won't die, it's a pain in the ass when you're trying to keep everything up for this tour, and you track it down to this board and one member. I have found Madison kind of paternatistic, but she has a job to do I guess. I didn't understand why she kept defending this 'banned slash shirts' thing even when I and others reminded her that Axl's camp did say it wasn't true pretty early on. But so what. It's between Axl and Madison and I think they have had that conversation now.

Gotta be honest, this forum is a diversion for me. I don't take it too seriously. I work too hard and too long every day, and it helps me to unwind. People here make me laugh. It's just a forum of opinions, not rules for living, and none of it should be taken too seriously.

What I do take seriously is how tough it is for me to unwind and really let loose. And I was able to shake it all off at the concert. None of this stuff matters. Really letting loose for a few hours does.

  11. ... He should have came out and said all this publicly.

Agreed. If he had come out right away and said that he believes fans should be able to wear whatever they wish, this would have ended the entire discussion. But he didn't.

And I have to say that it saddens me that Axl thinks the sources are "fake." The security manager is very real and I have his name and phone number if he's interested in following up. Also, our forum members who witnessed this firsthand had no reason to lie. Axl can talk to them as well if he doubts they exist.

Revolver - glad you had a great time. :)

What the fuck do you know? That's right! You don't know jack fucking shit you fucking ignorant, know it all, fucking deluded, misguided, self important, self righteous, pious, small minded, clueless, loud mouthed, arrogant cunt. No one needs your opinions n' having to deal with your constant abuse of privileges or the miniscule amount of power you've had here you wield like an angry, lesbian, wannabe, high school parking lot rent-a-cop always mouthing off like you're some kind of authority which you're far from. I have to say it saddens me you continue to babble your horseshit to unsuspecting fans n' any names n' numbers you have are of people like you who try n' hurt others to promote themselves at their expense. That's the only real thing you got bitch. It's like Revolver's if not edited, cloudy recollection of events as I've never asked for anyone's shirt bein' thrown out of anywhere let alone say I did but hey he won a contest so he must be credible, whatever, no good deed goes unpunished. I don't work for you or have to do a goddamn thing you think ever. Your opinions of anything whatsoever don't count or mean jack shit to me or anyone in this camp. You're garbage, plain and simple. You're not a fan or a voice of reason... you're a sick n' diseased mind spilling it's bile over the internet. Well now you can drink up the rewards of the crap that's been spillin' out of your pie hole forever here n' enjoy the fermented, feted n' vulgar response you've been cultivating n' aching for... for so long . Find another board this one doesn't need you. Oh n' feel free to jump in all you wanna be web warriors, ho defenders n' bitch boi's, you ain't needed either. For the rest of you... Surprise gigs comin'!!

Jesus, what an insufferable asshole. No wonder America doesn't give a shit about Guns N' Roses anymore. Look at how the lead singer treats his fans.

What an absolutely ridiculous thing for you to say! America still loves Guns, open your fucking eyes. And maybe if you'd taken the time to browse this forum, or at least this particular thread, you would've seen all the reasons why Axl came down so hard on Madison. You saying that she can endlessly bash the band, continue to perpetuate stupid rumors even after they've been confirmed as lies, and Axl is just supposed to ignore this? Mygnr's a huge community and bullshit perpetuated here gets spewed all over the internet. People who talk shit deserve shit, and seems to me this is what she got. No less than what was coming to her.

As for how Axl treats his fans, how the fuck would you know? Maybe you should read Revolver's post at the beginning of this thread, how warmly he and the rest of us were received by Axl and everyone in his camp. I don't think I've ever met more down to earth, unassuming and friendly people. Axl et al. are highly misunderstood.

I got to see how Axl treated his fans in Toronto, and as a result I HAD AN AWESOME TIME! I paid for a great concert, got one, and that's all he's required to deliver. The rest is gravy.

Not knocking anyone here on the board, but Axl has every right to defend himself if he feels he, or his people, have been slighted.

  12. He won a contest, he hasn´t big tits or got the backstage cause he is moderator or supporter ,,,

Why is being one of those things the way backstage?

Yeah, I'm right, or hey - Tell us how you got back there? I'm guessing Eric may have helped, no?

    Or..................did you tell them about "RevolverGirl" !! B) -_-

Yes, who could forget Gunsguy's "VelvetGirl2" personality on the forum?

Fortunately for him, the GNR camp wasn't aware of his bizarre alter-ego on the forum - Otherwise, they might have blocked him from going backstage.

keep up the good work of twisting things to fit your perception Madison, time and time again, some things never change?

Well, you did come back as 'VelvetGirl', I see very little twisted. Other than having a bizarre alter-ego on an internet forum, of course

Oh, and Revolver is one lucky son of a bitch!

any one of you can use search to find the truth or pm me, this is Revolvers thread, and his story is amazing :)

I agree. I think it's awesome that you focussed your time on hanging out with the band, and not focussing a camera. Let's face it, whenever people pose, they aren't chatting and hanging out. So the better experience is with no camera.
