Don't you hate it when the rich and beautiful are miffed:

I think someday it'd be great to see Axl fight somone for real. Not just a quick 10 second spat before dozens of people jump in to break it up. That way when he loses the whole idea of Axl being a super fighting machine could dissapear forever.
I can't think of many fights I've witnessed in my whole life where it wasn't just a quick 10 second spat before dozens of people jumped in to break it up. Unless it was ten rounds with a girl walking around after each round with a card.
I also don't think Axl has ever presented himself as a super fighting machine. The media did that. Even Hilfiger didn't think it was necessarily Axl who was dangerous, just that great big ring on his hand.

They had done this black and white version when they did the original. I prefer this one.

That must have been such a thrill for the band to watch that flag roll out. Awesome fans.

But Axl looks more like Triple H without the muttonchops.
No mutton chops, Axl. Don't go to the bad place.

Wow, that's awesome. That's the kind of stuff that ends up in videos! They'll love it.

I can see the benefit to private celebrities, like Axl. He could give interviews and after editing could misrepresent what he was trying to say. He could say he didn't say that but there it is, in print.
Through his own messages his words are as he typed them. He can say what he did and didn't say, and that people can only count on what he says on his own account, as he did with the central america concerts.
Bottom line, though, music is a business. And only a successful business if people are buying your products (CDs, concerts, merch, etc) so today's music business requires that musicians reach out through their various resources. That includes new media like Twitter. It develops a much more personal relationship than the old days and that might keep you more interested and, most importantly, purchasing.

HEYYYYY. THAT GUY IS ERIC.
PS: Look people behind staring at him. He looks pissed
Which is pretty normal for pushing through a crowded airport. Never a good day for me.

I just saw the Estranged video come on the retro channel and while watching I thought, "this is a really great song."
I love Estranged, but not just for the music in the song itself. It was the one of three songs that got me through the death of my fiance (Don't Cry and November Rain are the other two and I listened to them - a lot - when I walked through that grieving period you go through). So I'll always have that emotional tie to the song. The solos, both piano and guitar, in this song have a way of carrying you out of a funk.
The other reason is because of Making the Videos for Estranged. It came later for me, but watching this actually made me relate to the song through the story and background of the song. I had no idea before that these three songs were a trilogy.
So I love it and it's one of my favourites for more than just the music, though the song itself is killer.

At 9:11 on part 1, did Axl say his dog's name was Torque?

I read a lot, but it's rare that I find books that affect me. I'm always interested to hear what books people have read in their lives that really impacted them. There are a few for me that I come back to every few years and read them again:
Atlas Shrugged by Ayn Rand
The Women's Room by Marilyn French
As the Crow Flies and Fall On Your Knees by Ann Marie McDonald
How about you?

Mint Car - The Cure

As for No Rain by Blind Melon this was how it was originally recorded I believe. Obviously this versions not very happy.
Geez after hearing that , I hereby remove No Rain from my happy list. Going to go sit in a dark room now.

Incense and Peppermints - Strawberry Alarmclock (dated a guy in the band - he was always happy too, though I think it was drug induced.) Don't do the math, I was very young, he was too old to be dating me. Good times.

It's noise, loud noise. I love More Human Than Human. I've heard it referred to as noise rock. It's a mainstay on my walking playlist.
