  1. Thanks for your explanation ZInt, but I agree with SM, why do you think the forum needs a section to hate the current (or the old) GNR line up? They have both been important and they both deserve respect.

It's a fantastic idea and a great compromise. Think about it for a second, he said "controversial topics" not an out and out hate free for all. Consider also if you will the flipside of the argument. Does this not make things so much easier from both yours and the mods' perspective? Controversial topics can now be moved with nobody having an excuse to cry censorship and without the mods having to worry about whether they can justify moving certain threads. :shrugs:

oh I misunderstood and thought it was going to be a hating section :)

  2. Why would you have a dedicated section that seems to be designed for people to post hate threads about any incarnation of Guns N' Roses on this forum? It seems like what you are doing is accommodating a section for all the cupcakes, like as if they have some value to this forum and should be placated. Why not just ban those that consistently hate on Guns N' Roses - new or old?

    SoulMonster also said..

It is obvious trolling when people keep polluting the main section with irrelevant trivia about some ex-members who haven't been part of GN'R for god knows how long. Just because you believe a certain subject is interesting doesn't give you any right to post it wherever you want. And if there is no sections on this forum where it naturally fits in, either because such a section simply doesn't exist,

Make up your mind man! :shrugs:

And why would we need a slash section? There's already a section dedicated to the old band, if some people need to worship slash they can register at VR's forum, like his facebook page or become friends with him on the facebook.

Take what I wrote as a personal opinion, I'm not complaining about your decision as we can decide to skip a particular section of the forum. But it seems to me that you are trying to please everybody and that's impossible as no matter what you do, people will never be satisfied :P

Thank you for moving the nonsense threads

  3. oh hey at least its a new topic/question that we haven't discussed to death! :tongue2:

True. And let's face it, this is far from the worst topic to have been posted on this forum.

    What the hell was worse?

Yeah, that's what I'm wondering. What in the hell could possibly be a worse topic to create a thread about than this?

    Ali

    This? LINK

  4. I was reading about Blood typing recently. Some believe Blood types can tell a lot about people's personality's. It seemed pretty accurate to me personally and another person I asked. So does anyone know Axl's? I wouldn't be surprised if he was asked by a Japanese journalist at some point. They take it pretty seriously.

Actually any member of GNR would be interesting...

    LOL..?

The only thing blood types can tell you is which blood group is compatible in case you need a transfusion

  5. That's right, and when people log in and see 5 of those joke threads on the main page, they log back out

Indeed! I found very annoying to log in and see lots of "who is that person?" "Why this?" "Why that?" threads

Same here. A lot of those "What if" threads are not very thought provoking, and many are recycled topics. I've been around less than a year and already notice many same old subjects, I can only imagine how many threads the longtimers see and then say "been there, done that". For that reason, I find myself spending more time in the Anything Goes section, which is usually not a good thing ;)

I forgot about the "what if" :rofl-lol:

  6. Well, I saw the band in South America back in 2010 twice and Axl was late 4 hours the first time I saw them and close to 3 hours the second time. :shrugs:

what time did GNR take the stage at each show?

    Name the shows/venues, as well

    No

    Why not??

They started in time last time i saw them live (La Plata Stadium, Buenos Aires 2011) and I was late because my plane was delayed so I missed the first 3 songs :(

  8. I aggregated everyone's scores.

68 people gave their ratings. I replaced everything over 10 with 10 and anything below 1 with 1. I computed the average (arithmetic mean, although I think that's a very simplistic approach) for each song and for the album for each poster, as well as the mean of means which is 6.67.

    Means for songs:

    1. Chinese Democracy: 6.74
    2. Shackler's Revenge: 6.83
    3. Better: 7.94
    4. Street of Dreams: 6.71
    5. If the World: 5.76
    6. There Was a Time: 8.19
    7. Catcher in the Rye: 7.02
    8. Scraped: 5.08
    9. Riad n' the Beduins: 4.78 (you people are fucking idiots)
    10. Sorry: 6.60
    11. I.R.S.: 6.53
    12. Madagascar: 6.55
    13. This I Love: 7.04
    14. Prostitute: 7.57

Over a third of the posters rated TWAT a 10, in fact the only people who rated it below 7 are those who gave every song very low marks, because that's the kind of douchebags they are. <_< I am very proud to be the only one who rated Riad a 10. B) I will show you some histograms later, but it's pretty clear that some songs split people massively getting very high and very low marks. I also wanna aggregate post counts for those who have voted and see if there's a connection between marks and how new they are here.

    wow great job man!

Riad n' the Beduins: (you people are fucking idiots)

I don't like it, not even a bit

  9. I agree with Pitboss, probably an insecure dude reading his wife's messages. I think he was just trying to scare you, but if he was serious it means he's a violent dude with mental issues and reporting him to the cops would only make things worse.

People are crazy, sometimes it's better to just forget about them and keep walking. There are more important things that worth a fight than an insecure asshole threatening people in the internet.

Edit: Which reminds me of a woman I know, who hacks her boyfriend's FaceBook and blocks all the girls as if that would make the guy stop fancying someone else.

Facebook is not the problem, stupid people are

  10. I don't believe that any of you think his best looks has been after 94. You're either trolling or you're just hoping that Fernando will read your post and think "Oh, they are real fans, I'll give them a backstage pass."

I think he looks great now, still hot at 50! I didn't post what I think was his best look but I posted my favorite onstage style: white leather jacket + bandanna

I believe his best look was 1991-1992, his worst look was 2002 IMO. At first I hated the biker's mustache but I guess I got used to and now I kind of like it ...

But it's a matter of taste, people can prefer whatever look they want without being labeled kiss-ass (or whatever) by other posters.

  11. I heard Axl has a pet dolphin? is it true?

i find this hard to believe and have my questions, is this legal? where does he keep it? what is the dolphin name? where did he buy it? how much did it cost? what does it eat? dolphins should be free to roam the oceans.

Maybe your friend saw a pic of Axl and a dolphin during the making of the Estranged video?

    Anyway, here are some answers

No, it's not legal having a dolphin as a pet in the US (Marine Mammals Protection Act)

To hold a captive dolphin, the pool must fulfill National Marine Fisheries Service MMPA's requirements, you can't keep a dolphin in your house's pool...

Oceanariums can buy dolphins from Cuba and Japan

The cost (transfer included) ranges between 40,000 and 100,000 US dollars

They are fed dead fish + vitamins (which is not as healthy as hunting their own live fish)

Agreed, they shouldn't be kept in captivity

    PS: Weird thread though

    You are charitable.

It is someone posting an idiotic thread again.

Thank you :) but I'm not charitable with things without dorsal fins.

I just was naive enough to believe that giving him the answers he wanted would make him shut up ...

  12. thanks. perhaps he did i can ask him again.

do you think it is possible axl keeps one at a seaworld and visits it every week? pays for the upkeep for snowflake?

I don't think so... Axl seems to love dolphins (he has donated to a conservation organization that protects dolphins in the wild).

If he loves dolphins I doubt he would support a facility that enslaves them.
